About: My Pet Care Experience 🐾 Animals have always been a big part of my life. I was raised around smaller dogs, so that’s what I grew up knowing first. As I got older, I started being around bigger breeds too, and over time I got just as comfortable with them. I’ve also grown up around horses, fish, rabbits, and different kinds of animals, so being around animals has always felt natural to me. A lot of what I know about dogs comes from actually growing up with them—seeing their different personalities, learning their routines, understanding when they want attention and when they need their space, and learning how much they rely on the people taking care of them. I’ve gotten to experience the fun parts of raising animals, but I’ve also experienced what it’s like to lose one. Going through that made me realize even more how much these animals become a part of your life. Because of that, when I take care of someone’s pet, I don’t look at them as just another dog I’m watching. I think about how I would want my own pets to be treated if I wasn’t there. I want them to feel comfortable with me, keep their normal routine, and have someone around who genuinely enjoys being with them. Pet care fits easily into my daily and weekly routine. I’m able to plan my schedule around my clients’ needs and make sure I have enough time to provide each pet with consistent, attentive care. I’m dependable, organized, and flexible with scheduling. About: Hi! My name is Sam, and animals have been a huge part of my life and career for almost a decade. I have been working in the veterinary field for around 10 years, and most of my recent experience is a lead ER technician. Because of my experience in emergency medicine, I’m very comfortable recognizing changes in behavior, administering medications, and responding quickly if a pet ever needs medical attention. Before working in emergency medicine, I also owned and operated a mobile pet grooming business, so I’ve spent years handling dogs and cats of all sizes, temperaments, and special needs. Currently I am not working and working on getting certified to start an IT career so my availability is very open. I’m a mom to two boys and married, so family and responsibility are a huge part of my life. Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
