“We had a last minute occasion pop-up that required us being gone overnight and Sylvia came to the rescue! We enjoyed meeting her and Sylvia took the time to sit and talk to us and establish a bond with our fur babies before her first drop-in. We chatted and the gang of two was very comfortable with her. So were we! We could have talked to her all day! Sylvia is very attentive and followed our feeding and potty break instructions perfectly. We have a senior dog that is moving slower these days and we have a two year old kitten that is still clinging to his feral ways and wants to run outside every time we let the dog out. Sylvia handled it like a champ! We are so happy to have met her. She’s excellent at what she does and is such a nice person! We look forward to booking her again.”

“I can't say enough good things about Tamara! She went above and beyond with Ollie, and was real quick in developing a relationship with him. I was worried that this being my first time using Rover, and Ollie being a new addition to my family that he would push boundaries and give her a hard time as he can be stubborn, but she demonstrated knowledge and experience when interacting with him that alleviated any worry I had. The updates made me incredibly happy as Ollie can be an anxious boy, and here I was seeing him calm, relaxed, and very well behaved in the photos giving me steps on what she did to get him in a calm and relaxed state. If you recently added a dog to your family, and need someone respectable, knowledgeable, and trustworthy. I would STRONGLY recommend Tamara! Any doubts or worries would be gone and your puppers will be left anew!”
About: I am a cat owner and dog owner. I help take of my friends dogs when they are away. I love going for walks and playing fetch. I'm currently working from home and need to get out and stretch my legs! I am currently available anyday of the week from 7am to 6pm. I am not currently taking pets in my home since our senior dog doesnt get along with some dogs. I'm sorry for that. Maybe in the near future.

About: Dogs have always been a huge part of my life, and caring for them is something I genuinely love. Over the past year, I’ve gained a lot of hands-on experience dog sitting and caring for dogs with all kinds of personalities, routines, and needs. From daily walks and playtime to meals, medications, cuddles, and overnight stays, I treat every dog like they’re my own. I love getting to know each dog individually and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. Whether we’re out exploring, relaxing at home, or simply enjoying some extra attention, I’m happiest when I’m spending time with dogs. My goal is always for both the pups and their parents to feel happy, comfortable, and confident that they’re in good hands. I currently work a full-time job, so I’m typically away from home from 7-3 Monday through Thursday and home on Fridays and weekends. That said, I always make sure my pups are a priority and receive plenty of love, attention, and care. I have a secure, fenced-in yard and an 11-year-old dog named Maya who is friendly and would be happy to keep your pets company during their stay.

About: I’ve been around dogs my entire life and have experience caring for dogs of all sizes, ages, and personalities. I’ve raised dogs from puppies, cared for family and friends’ pets, and fostered dogs while helping them transition into their forever homes. One of the biggest things I’ve learned is that every dog is different. Some need lots of activity and attention, while others need patience, space, reassurance, or a little extra time to feel comfortable. I pay attention to their personality, routine, and cues so I can care for them in the way that works best for them. Most importantly, I know how much trust it takes to leave your dog with someone else. I’ll treat your baby with the same love, patience, and care I’d want for my own. ❤️ I have a flexible schedule that allows me plenty of time to give your pets the attention they deserve. I’m available throughout the week for walks, drop-ins, playtime, and plenty of one-on-one attention. I’m also happy to work with your pet’s existing routine so their day feels as normal and comfortable as possible while you’re away. I know every dog has their own routine, personality, and comfort level, so I’ll always follow your care instructions closely. Whether I’m caring for your pet in your home or mine, I want them to feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I’m attentive to body language and behavior and will never force an interaction if a dog needs space or time to warm up. I’m also happy to send plenty of photos and updates so you can relax knowing your baby is in good hands!
About: Hey there! I’m a former veterinary technician with 10 and a half years of experience and a background in dog training. As a huge animal lover, I’ve worked with dogs of all breeds and sizes, from teacup Yorkies to Bull Mastiffs. Every dog that stays in my home is treated like my own—spoiled and well cared for—because it’s a vacation for them, too! I also have a one-year-old Australian Cattle Dog mix who is super friendly and absolutely loves other dogs. I look forward to taking care of your sweet pup!! I make it a priority to make sure the dog is fulfilled mentally and physically before and after work. I typically get up about an hour and a half before to exercise my own dog before I head into work. And then I spend about two hours once I’m home. Occasionally, I am also able to come home at lunch if needed. I treat them as my own and tend/cater to their needs. Each dog is different so each dog will require a different level of attention. But every dog that steps foot gets one on one attention and needs are meet.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone.
