“She sent us multiple pictures after dog sitting! VERY MUCH appreciated!! She left a very detailed progress report for our puppies, also EXTREMELY appreciated!! Beyond nice when we met her for a puppy meet & greet! Our babies loved her and attached to her faster than anyone else! We will absolutely ask her again the next time we need a trustworthy dog sitter!”

About: I've been around animals big and small my whole life and have always had a soft spot for them! I've dog-sat for friends and family and have experience caring for dogs and cats of all ages. I've also bred dogs, so I'm comfortable with the extra time, patience, and attention that young animals need. I work in healthcare and love to give back to people and their furry friends! I currently live in an apartment where I'm not able to have pets of my own, so Rover gives me the perfect excuse to spend time with animals while giving them the love, attention, and care they deserve. I'd love to treat your pets like my own while you're away! I currently work until 3:30 in the afternoon leaving plenty of time in the evenings to care for your pets! I am also available weekends! I am willing to work around my schedule to make the most of my time when caring for your pets! I have house, animal, and baby sat for many families in their homes. I will respect your animals and your home with the same care as my own. I will abide by any request to make the most of my visits. I am easy going, and will work with you to make this the best experience possible!
About: I have been around many different kinds of animals. Family and friends have always been able to rely on me to take care of the animals with my who heart and soul. I work full time now from 8-5 M-F. Weekends I’m available and work close to home. I’m apart of the army national guard so some weekends I will not be available. Within my clients home their animals will be given the best belly rubs and pets I can give. I will do everything with the best of my ability.
“Savanah is by far the most attentive, thoughtful, and caring sitter I have ever used. She was precise in the times to take out my dog, but she provided updates and pictures. Communication was consistent throughout my trip and I couldn’t have asked for a more thorough experience. Most recommended!!!”

“Bobbi was great with my cats, one of whom needed medicine daily. Pictures and reports were reassuring and questions were appreciated and appropriate. Would absolutely have her stay with my babies again. Thank you so much.”

“Gwendolyn was great with our animals, and we have a variety of different animals. She was very reliable and we felt comfortable leaving our boys in her hands. We will definitely use her again.”

About: I have been raising and caring for dogs for as long as I can remember. From birthing puppies to senior dog care. Who doesn’t love a furry friend! I am a teacher who is off for summer break and would love to fill my summer free time helping your special furry family members! I am currently living in an apartment living so I understand the need for dog walks. I will visit and provide lots of love and attention.
“Izzy was so good with Harley ( our senior dog) and very thorough with all the details of Harley’s care. I didn’t worry a bit because her photos of Harley showed he was happy and well taken care of. I definitely will use her again!!!”

About: I have a love for all animals, as a child growing up I have always wanted to be a Veterinarian Assistant. I began doing foster care for dogs in 2020 after doing this for a while I felt a much greater need to help even more. I began my own dog rescue in 2020. I walk, play, love and care for each animal. I have rescued and rehomed several dogs to safe and loving homes. I treat them as if they were my own. The unbreakable bond between pets and their people is something that will forever warm my heart! I’m currently working part time. I’m available after work and on my off days. Just message me and we can make things work! I’m more than happy to help! I have three fur-babies of my own and they love to run around and play outside, there is 7-acres of land, and the best part is not by any main roads, it’s private. I also walk my dogs or let them play inside with some toys. Depending on your pet and your instructions for your pet, I’ll make sure that your pet and you as well feel comfortable with things. If it’s a client’s home then whatever instructions are given I’ll make sure to go by!
About: I’ve always had animals, and naturally fell into helping others take care of their own. My experience with reactive dogs has also shown me how, despite seeming scary at first, they deserve the same love and care as any other furry friend. I work Monday-Thursday, and can dedicate 3 full days Friday-Sunday to taking care of pets. Im an early riser, and am happy to take a job any time between 5 AM and 7 PM. I realize letting a stranger into your home to care for your pet requires a lot of trust. I like to establish your ground rules and have an open line of communication with pet parents.

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
