“Elizabeth was so great to work with. My parents have a dog that's a bit older and requires some added patience. Elizabeth was extremely patient and very responsive. We will certainly be rebooking her.”

“As always, we returned to happy and healthy cats, even after two weeks away. I also always appreciate Candace’s willingness to go above and beyond, cleaning/vacuuming the house and preventing hairballs in the process. Thank you and happy holidays!”

“She is a wonderful pet sitter. It is our first time leaving our cats alone for a week and we were nervous cause one of ours is too shy and he became close with her and the notes and pictures made us feel so much better that are being taken care of. I will highly recommend her and i will definitely choose her next time i want a pet sitter. The dedication and care she has towards what she does and how she does her job far exceeds what our thoughts were. We can tell it’s not just a “job” for her, what she did for us helped put all of our fears and doubts at ease. Wonderful communication, pictures on her visits and feedback even as simple as keeping a light on for our cats. She went the distance and then some. Words don’t do her justice but we pray anyone reading this review will take it to heart, we are truly blessed to have had the pleasure of working with her.”

“Aubrey did a wonderful job taking care of our 3 cats while we were away for the weekend. We also got some really good photos of our cats from her that I saved because we liked them so much!”
“Jayda was great with both of my dogs, they loved having her stop by while I was gone. She was great with communication, sent lots of pictures, and even cleaned up after one of the dogs destroyed a toy.”

“Matthew did a good job with my cattle dog and Aussie. They can be a bit much for some people but he worked with them well. I hired him for 3 visits a day for 4 days. He kept in good communication.”

About: I have watched the pets of neighbors/friends/family many a time, when I was younger I volunteered at the shelters, and as a tradesman I encountered animals when you wouldn't think. Now I'm going a different route in life I'm just trying to live in a more relaxed manner, just trying to make some money and make a few furry friends along the way. I do gig/freelance work to accommodate family needs. But I am pretty free and open most days. So book me and let's get to walkin! A 1/8 acre fenced back yard with shaded patio and two water bowls, and a doggy door everything a dog needs for a day.

About: I’ve lived with cats and dogs my whole life, I was always the primary care taker for my golden doodle growing up and I take care of my own kitty now. I was also in charge of house breaking, and skill training for three different dogs we had. I’m excited to meet some new cute kitties and pups! I’m a stay at home mom so my schedule is very open! For short visits I’ll bring my baby with but for anything lengthier I can drop her off with my parents, I’d love to take time out of my day to play with some animals and get out of the house! When I’ve watched pets before I’ll make sure to let them outside to do their business, then make sure I play with them for a while to get their energy out before they have to come back inside :)
“Emma is so extremely helpful, and very thorough with taking care of our fur babies! 10/10 would recommend! Thank you Emma for being extra thoughtful and going above and beyond with your care!”

“Taysha was amazing with my dogs. She went above and beyond all of my expectations and made sure my dogs were well taken care of and loved while I was away. I highly recommend her.”

About: Hi, I’m Rebecca! I’ve been caring for animals for nearly 30 years and working professionally with them for over 12 years through rescue, boarding, training, and rehabilitation. Animals have always been a big part of my life, and I truly love what I do. Every pet that stays with me is treated with the same care and attention I give my own! I hold advanced dog training and animal behavior certifications, and I’m also certified in Animal CPR and First Aid, so your pup(s) will be in experienced, loving, and capable hands! Over the years I’ve worked with many different breeds and personalities, and I understand that every dog adjusts differently when away from home. Some dogs want to play all day, while others just want a quiet place to relax, and I do my best to make sure each dog feels safe and comfortable during their stay. I also have plenty of experience providing routine care and medications when needed, including pills, injections, and topical treatments. If your dog has special care instructions, I’m happy to follow their routine as closely as possible so they feel right at home. Dogs staying with me enjoy a large, fully fenced yard, frequent potty breaks, and plenty of attention and cuddles throughout their stay. Dogs go outside about once per hour while I'm home, and I return every 2–3 hours when I need to step out. My two very friendly dogs and four animal LOVING kids (9, 13, 14, and 16) help make sure visiting pets get plenty of playtime, affection, and mental stimulation, while still maintaining calm areas for your pups to have a comfortable place to decompress and relax. In addition to boarding, I also offer training services and yard cleanup services if you're interested. Please feel free to reach out for more information or a quote. I’m also happy to care for reptiles, birds, and other small animals as well. I look forward to meeting you and your pets! I work full time in a flexible position that allows me to work from home a good majority of the time, or return home as needed while I am away. My job is only about 5 minutes away, and on days I’m away I come home every 2–3 hours to check on/let out the animals. I also have cameras in the home so I can keep an eye on everyone, and I’m able to return home quickly if anything needs my attention. I have a securely fenced yard where dogs can safely run and play during their stay. There’s plenty of room for exercise, and I keep toys in the yard so dogs always have something fun to do. The yard is also covered by security cameras, so I can keep a watchful eye on everyone even if I step inside for a moment.
“Danii is a rockstar! She did drop in visits on my 2 pups while we were on vacation. She was absolutely amazing and we will for sure use her for all future needs. I loved that she communicated well and took lots of pictures. I highly recommend her for taking care of your pups as well!”
“Amazing. Courteous, kind, and caring. Claudia sent detailed updates and pictures. It was nice to be able to be away from home and not worry about my two cats. Definite 5+ stars! Thank you!”

About: I've taken care of many different kinds of puppies. I have 2 puppies and can do basic training. Really good with senior dogs and keeping them safe and healthy. Can give medications or any kind. I am currently in school so it will be after school times. I can come out earlier depending on the day. I would love to work with you and your schedules as well! At your house I will follow your rules and try to take care of your pets as close to the way you do as possible. In my house animals are well taken care of and loved any time we are home and spoiled while they are out with us on adventures.
“Super last minute back out from my neighbor and Laura was awesome! My girl looked so happy in all of the pics, got walked and taken to the park. Got back to me fast and was super communicative about everything. Definitely plan on having her come check in on my girl for the next work trip away”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Roy
Aubrey was an amazing sitter. I contacted her with a last minute request to take care of my cat for a week, and she responded immediately. This was the longest I'd been away from my clingy kitty, but Aubrey was so nice and accommodating that I rested easy knowing Meatball was in great hands. Loved getting funny updates with cute photos/videos each visit. I'll definitely book with her again!

Lisa is a wonderful animal caretaker! She took very thorough notes and asked great questions, it was very clear early on that she is experienced with animal caretaking. Our cat, Shishi, is elderly, battling IBD, needs several oral medications and is a feisty gal. We went on a 6 day backcountry river trip and knew we needed someone experienced to care for her while we were away. Lisa administered all Shishi’s medications with no issues, fed her the very specific meal regimen that Shi is on, kept her company, and cleaned up after Shishi had several diarrhea accidents outside of the litter box. Lisa communicated well and sent many cute pictures. In short — Lisa is a rockstar, we will definitely hire her again and highly recommend her!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Roy. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
