“Elizabeth took great care of our 2 year old dog, Rory. She was completely reliable, sent lots of pictures, and we could tell he was well loved when we returned home. She left our house very clean and communicated well with lots of pictures while we were away. We will absolutely be using her again!”

“Mari did such a good with Bailey! Very responsive, sent us updates when we asked, and she sent us photos and fun videos of our girl. We really appreciated her giving our girl so much love and attention over the Thanksgiving holiday. We absolutely recommend her!”

“Katelyn is one of the most trustworthy people I have ever met. She has house sat for us which included taking care of our 7 year old Great Dane and 11 month old Golden Retriever. She followed every instruction given and kept in communication with us throughout our trip. She was extremely respectful to our home and left it in better condition than we had left it. It was very important to us to have our pets stay in the comfort of our own home, as boarding kennels can be stressful. Being able to have Katelyn stay at our home at an affordable rate gave us so much peace of mind. She loved our animals like her own and we will most definitely be using and recommending her services again in the future!”

“Our two pups liked Kimberly from the moment she walked thru the front door. We felt very comfortable having her at our home. When we returned the dogs were happy and our home was spotless. Very pleased”

About: I’ve had dogs my entire life, and caring for them has always been second nature to me. I’m the go-to sitter for friends because I genuinely love being around animals and put a lot of care into making sure they feel safe, understood, and comfortable. During my psychology degree, I completed a minor in Animal-Assisted Interventions and Psychotherapy, focusing on animal behavior, emotional attunement, human-animal connection, and therapeutic support work. My own dog is a huge part of my life. She travels around the country with me and goes almost everywhere by my side. I personally trained her with therapy service dog foundations, which taught me a lot about patience, consistency, structure, and reading a dog’s needs and body language. I'm fortunate that my days are centered around my dog, Bennie. I get up, let her out right away, then prepare her breakfast, and she eats while we start the morning together outside. I’m home most of the time and spend my days in the yard gardening, doing yard work, or working on projects around the property, so she’s with me and supervised throughout the day. I also always make sure there’s some form of engagement or mental stimulation so dogs are never bored or over-energized, whether that’s training, enrichment activities, or interactive play. If I need to run errands, Bennie usually comes with me and stays in the car if the weather is safe. If it’s too warm, she stays home in her calm, familiar environment instead. I’m typically only gone for short errands and make a point of never leaving her alone for long. When we’re not at home, we’re usually outside doing something active- swimming at the lake, going on hikes, going for runs, or taking long walks. Our lifestyle is very outdoors-oriented, and she’s included in almost everything I do Dogs are a huge part of my life, and because I care deeply about providing a safe, low stress environment, I intentionally keep my boarding environment calm and structured. My goal is to give well mannered dogs a place that feels like home, not a kennel. To make sure every dog, including my own dog Bennie, stays safe and happy, I only accept dogs that are a good fit for my home and lifestyle. The dogs I board must be friendly and non aggressive toward people and other dogs, with no history of aggression, biting, resource guarding, or serious reactivity. Any signs of aggression or unsafe behavior during a stay may result in an early pickup request. They must be fully house trained with no ongoing accidents indoors. I understand an occasional accident can happen in a new environment, but dogs that regularly mark, urinate, or defecate indoors are not a good fit. If repeated accidents occur during a stay, I may request early pickup. Dogs should be comfortable in a home environment without excessive or persistent barking. Occasional alert barking is understandable, but they must be responsive to redirection and not fixate on people, sounds, or movement outside the home. Dogs that bark continuously when I leave or struggle to settle with normal household noise are not a good fit. Dogs should be able to relax quietly indoors without excessive vocalizing, as I have neighbors and tenants I respect. Dogs should be able to stay home alone for short periods, such as while I run errands, without destructive behavior or severe separation anxiety. For safety, dogs should ride comfortably in a vehicle if transportation is ever necessary and have reliable recall and respect physical boundaries. Dogs with a history of escaping, climbing, or jumping fences are not a good fit for my property. They should also be comfortable sharing space with Bennie and enjoy appropriate, respectful play. Bennie is always at the top of my mind, and safety is my number one priority. I have a fully fenced, dog-proof yard with a secure gate that is always kept closed. I also have cameras on the property to monitor for wildlife or anything unsafe outside. Inside the home, I use non-toxic, pet-safe cleaning products and avoid harsh chemicals. I’m very mindful of anything dogs could be sensitive to, including what they’re exposed to, what they play with, and what they’re given. I only use safe toys and bones that are appropriate and supervised. Chewing must be under control. I provide plenty of appropriate toys and chew options, but dogs that chew furniture, household items, or damage property will result in an early pickup request. I also reserve the right to request reimbursement for any damage or excessive cleaning caused during a stay. I spend most of my days at home working on my property, gardening, hiking, or enjoying the outdoors with Bennie, so visiting dogs receive plenty of companionship, supervision, enrichment, and exercise. Safety is always my top priority, and I carefully screen each booking to make sure it is the right fit for everyone involved. I understand these requirements may not fit every dog, and that is okay. My goal is not to accommodate every pet. It is to provide exceptional care for dogs that thrive in a calm, structured home environment.

About: I'm 18 years old but I've taken care of all sorts of animals my entire life, cats, dogs, lizards, you name it! I've also had 6 dogs and 1 cat myself, which have all grown up and old in a happy and fun environment! I do not live in a neighborhood, so i have a large fenced yard along with about 4 acres of field to play in, along with a lake near me for hot summer days. Given all of the pets i've taken care of, I have great experience in dogs and cats of all ages, puppies, senior dogs, etc. I am currently a senior in high school at Glacier, however I only have one class that is completely online, so i am home all day everyday! Along with school i work a part-time nanny job in the AM Mondays and Thursdays, but it is super flexible so i can meet your needs. As you can see i have a very open schedule that is easy to work with, and i am home most of my days which is perfect to watch your animals. I'm using my love for animals as a little source of extra income! I have a large fenced and protected yard with an easily accessible dog door on both the top and bottom floor of my home. I do have two of my own fur babies, but they are trained and are used to being around all different types of dogs. However, if your dog/ cat is not good with other dogs and cats I am able to keep them separated by the floors in my house, so that would be no problem.
“Amazing experience with Vicki!! Her communication was great, she was patient & sweet with my 3 crazy dogs, and left our house cleaner than we left it. Thank you ? would definitely recommend!”

“We had such a great experience with Victoria! She did an amazing job taking care of our girls — they were so happy, calm, and relaxed when we got home, which says everything. She communicated extremely well the entire time, kept us updated, and made us feel completely at ease while we were away. On top of that, she left the house spotless and super clean, which we really appreciated. We would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, responsible, and caring sitter, and we will definitely be booking with her again!”

“Jessica is fantastic. She is caring towards our animals and I had full trust that everything would go as planned. Communication was great and I would recommend without hesitation. We will definitely have her back very soon!”

“Wow! Best dog sitter we've had in Sun Valley! Shelby provided a continuous stream of photos and information while we we gone so we never worried about our pups or our home. Shelby left our home sparkling clean.”

About: I’ve been caring for cats and dogs of all sizes for as long as I can remember. I grew up with large breeds like Bullmastiffs, Neapolitan Mastiffs, and Cane Corsos, so I’m very comfortable handling bigger dogs. My family has also taken in dogs with reactivity issues, which has given me patience and experience working with dogs that need a little extra understanding and structure. I currently have a senior mastiff mix with three legs, so I’m confident caring for dogs with different abilities and special needs. While I specialize in dogs, I absolutely love cats as well and have experience caring for them. I understand they often need a gentler, more patient approach and I’m happy to provide that. I currently have full availability everyday while I wait for my new job to begin. This includes housesitting and overnights on weekdays and weekends! Also, I am available for quick check-in’s or walks through the week. I care for all pets as if they are my own. I will go at their pace whether that means they want to play all day, or do their own thing! Whatever I am instructed to do by you, the owner, is how I will proceed.

FAQs for House Sitting - Round Prairie
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 149 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Round Prairie. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Round Prairie walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Round Prairie maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Round Prairie choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Round Prairie. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
