“Jennifer has cared for our little pit Fiona and our African Grey parrot, Wanda, on numerous occasions, overnight and daily walks. Her care is thorough and professional. At her own initiative she set up a beginners agility set I had purchased for Fiona. By the time we had returned from our trip, Jennifer had trained Fiona to go through "the tunnel," and zig zag her way through ""the sticks." Additionally, Jennifer has done leash work with Fiona, minimizing her pulling. When I book walks for Fiona , she also stops by Wanda's cage to say hello and give her fresh water. Thank you for your special care of our girls!”
“Our large dog normally struggles with strangers taking her for a walk, but McKenna handled her with so much care and patience. She made our pup feel completely at ease, which gave us huge peace of mind.”

About: I am a puppy mom of 1 to a Cavapoo looking to build experience in pet sitting. I am a full time psychology student and veteran. I can walk, play, feed, and take care of your pet as if they are my own. I am currently a full time online student, so I have a lot of time and flexibility for pet care. I only work Monday-Thursday. I have my own transportation and times can be coordinated. I like to provide safety, comfort, and structure to your pet’s lifestyle. I do best when given thorough instruction and will follow them to a T. Your pet’s happiness is my priority.
About: Dogs have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up, my mother served on the board of a Jack Russell rescue — which meant at least three of them running around at any given time. My first dog as an adult was Molly, a border collie who never met a person she didn't like. Every dog I've cared for since has gotten that same love and attention. When it comes to housesitting, I treat every home like my own. I bring in the mail, water the plants, vary the lights, take out the trash, and send regular photos and updates so you can truly relax. You come home to exactly what you left — sometimes with a very happy pet (or two or three...) at the door. My availability is genuinely flexible — some weeks I'm fully available, others I'm part-time, so I always recommend checking my calendar for current openings. What stays consistent is my commitment: when I'm with your pet, I am fully present and fully focused. I work around your schedule, your pet's routine, and whatever your family needs. I provide care exclusively in your home — because that's where your pet is most comfortable, and comfort matters. I believe the safest pet is an attentive one, so I give every animal in my care my complete attention. Your home is treated with the same respect I'd give my own, and your pet's routine, quirks, and needs are taken seriously from day one. In rare emergency situations, I am able to bring your pet into my home for overnight care, so they are never left without a loving hand. You won't have to wonder if everything is okay — I'll make sure you know.

From pet sitting and dog walking to caring for my own pets, I have experience with it all. My goal is to make every pet feel safe, loved, and comfortable while you're away. Pet care fits naturally into my routine. I have a flexible schedule and enjoy caring for dogs and cats through walks, drop-in visits, and pet sitting while keeping their routine consistent and providing them with plenty of love and attention. Your pet's safety and comfort are my top priorities. I follow each pet's routine, provide plenty of love and attention, and carefully follow all feeding and medication instructions. I'll also keep you updated with photos so you can have peace of mind while you're away.

About: I’ve always had a love of animals. I wanted to be a veterinarian for as long as I could remember; however, life had other plans. Caring for animals is still a passion of mine but in a different field. I’ve been caring for and watching over pets for about 12 years privately. My experience ranges from puppies to our beloved senior pets as well as exotics. I am very flexible with scheduling! “Tara was so amazing with my girl, Pepper! She gave me updates on Pepper during their walks and was consistent with the commands we were trying to implement with our new pup. She is so emphatic, and I felt very comfortable leaving my pup in her hands. I would highly recommend her!”
About: Hey! I have experience as a veterinary professional with over 10 years of caring for pets, including emergency medicine. I’ve always had a burning passion to care for animals since I was young. I am experienced in giving medications and also providing lots of attention and love while you’re away. I have pets of my own and understand the love, care, and affection they need while you’re away and I know what it’s like to need someone special to take care of them. I enjoy being active so going on walks, playing tug-of-war, or even ball is not a problem. I love to keep pet parents updated with pictures and videos. I like to follow the same routines as you would for your furry family members to ensure they have a calm and comfortable experience. I will provide exceptional and experienced service for you and your furry friends so you can relax in knowing they are safe and comfortable:) We can always figure out a schedule that works for everyone! I am always trying to figure out what works best for everyone’s schedule, so if you have questions we can talk prior to booking. I do not board at my home. Typically to keep a nice stable and calm environment I encourage my clientele to allow me to stay at their home or periodically check in on their pets in their own home. I have found that over the years being in their own home is where pets are most comfortable and safe.
About: I've taken care of dogs since I was 12 years old. My old neighbor used to drop his sweet poodle, Mitzy, off with me and I'd make sure she was taken care of. I'd walk her, feed her, play with her, and love on her. That's where my love began. I currently work full time but I am available to walk, watch, and care for pups after 5 and on most weekends! I can also make quick drop-ins during my lunch. I care for pets in my home/the client's homes by being attentive to them. I always keep an eye out in the home for any possible mischief they could get into and when I take the pups out, I watch out very closely for any potential dangers.
About: I’ve trained dogs to be crate trained, potty trained and leash trained. Haven't met many dogs who don't like me, especially after interacting with them more than once. Even the little chihuahuas that are ankle biters. Our doormat says "dogs welcome, people tolerated". Let me love your floofer, pupper, doggo or whichever term you use. Flexible career where I can make time to take care of your pups. Whenever I am needed or if they’re used to a specific schedule I can make happen. Treat your space and dogs as it’s my own. I am very tidy and keep my own space well kept. I go above and beyond.
About: I’m a full-time MSW student and a part-time employee at MUSC with a rotating schedule, who adores dogs, cats, and horses. I grew up with two dogs of my own and trained one of them to be a therapy dog, so we were a certified Therapy Dog team for years! I love training dogs and am always happy to play with any dog that's interested! I am good with dogs of any size and love cuddling with them, yet am good at reading dog behavioral cues. I am very responsible, laid-back, hard working, trustworthy, and am happy to work with any animal. I also like cats and horses and have plenty of experience with both. Additionally, I worked in a veterinary clinic and on a farm for a while so am familiar with basic animal care in case of emergencies! I love a good walk and am happy to wear your pup out if they need it but am also happy to just snuggle them if that’s what they need instead! I am incredibly detail oriented and trustworthy. I respect various animal personalities, boundaries, and quirks. I will always respect your request as the owner! You know your pet better than anyone else could!

About: I have always been a huge animal lover and have lived with pets longer than I can remember, ranging from Chihuahuas to Great Danes. I love cats as well and can handle other pets like reptiles with a bit of instruction. I am very punctual and easily handle complex feeding schedules/routines, walks and play time, and administration of routine medication for senior pets. My communication is very strong, so if I am ever unsure of something I will always contact you to be certain that I am doing the right thing to give your pet the best care. In addition, I like to send photos of your pets and status updates while you’re gone so that you know your pet is in good hands. I am currently in between roles right now so my schedule for pet care is relatively wide open at this time, and I would even like to explore the possibility of providing pet care on Rover full time. When caring for pets in a client's home, I focus on keeping their routine as normal and comfortable as possible. I follow the owner's instructions closely, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medications if needed, and any specific behaviors or preferences their pet has. I give pets plenty of attention and companionship while also respecting their individual personalities and comfort levels. I'm especially mindful of keeping doors and gates secure and maintaining a clean, safe environment. I also believe communication is important, so i provide regular updates and photos so owners can feel confident that their pets are happy, safe, and well cared for while they're away. I treat every client's home with the same care and respect I would expect for my own.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
