“Dela had a great time with Jennifer. She came back from their walk with a big smile on her face and was ready for a nap! Dela can be quite stubborn, but Jennifer was able to keep her attention and have a productive walk! I definitely recommend Jennifer!”

“Tonya was great with our dog! Great communication. She let us know when she arrived and took photos so that we could see how happy our girl was. We would definitely book again with her!”

About: Hi! My name is P.J., and I am a dog person without a dog. After 15 years with my own boxer rescue, I recently had to say goodbye, and my home feels a little too quiet. While I am not ready for another dog of my own just yet, I am very ready to love on yours! My schedule is super flexible as I don’t work a traditional 9 to 5, so your dog will get lots of attention, supervision, and companionship throughout the day. Whether your pup is high-energy, a champion napper, or somewhere in between, I’m happy to match their vibe. Walks, playtime, or just hanging out on the couch…I’m down for all of it. I’m easygoing, reliable, attentive, and very comfortable following whatever routine your dog is used to. Detailed instructions, medications, special diets, or quirky habits don’t bother me at all (honestly, I think the quirks are part of the fun). My family includes my husband and 10-year-old, and they love dogs as well. When they’re home from work and school, your pup will get even more attention and affection (basically a built-in fan club). I know firsthand how nerve-racking it can be to leave your pet with someone else. My goal is to make sure your dog feels safe, loved, and completely comfortable while you’re away so that YOU can also feel completely comfortable and relax knowing your pup is well taken care of. As a stay-at-home mom, my schedule is incredibly flexible. I have plenty of time and attention to give to your pup, and am open to both short-term and long-term boarding. My own yard isn’t fenced, but I live in a large neighborhood with a fenced dog park and miles of sidewalk for long walks. My home is clean, cozy, and clutter free—safe for active or curious pets!

About: I have lots of experience with taking care of dogs and cats. I am comfortable taking care of dogs of all sizes. I have always had dogs in my house growing up, and I know the responsibilities it takes to care for an animal. I will treat your pet as if they are my own. I have taken care of many kinds of pets from puppies and cats to elderly dogs. I have been pet sitting since high school and know what is required for a happy pet. I am very detail oriented and will make sure your pet has all their needs met. This includes potty breaks, food, water, medications, play time, and quality time. I can take your dog for a walk, do a few drop in visits, or do an overnight depending on your pet’s needs or what you are comfortable with. I am currently a rising junior at CofC studying Biology. I will be home (Summerville, SC) for the summer and can take care of pets all throughout the day. During the school year (Downtown Charleston) I can do drop in’s or walks in the morning before my classes, and after my classes in the afternoon, evenings, or overnight. I have an elderly golden lab and a 3 year old Weimaraner. I help take care of them by spending lots of time with them, taking them on walks, providing medication, feeding them, fetching, and giving them lots of love and support. I am very familiar with energetic dogs, and I know that they need lots of attention.

Please reach out! I am available every day for mornings, afternoon and night visits, walls and boarding! I am also available for last minute check ins late at night. For boarding, I focus on creating a calm, predictable environment with plenty of exercise and affection. For in-home visits and walking, I leverage my experience in property management to ensure your home is treated with the utmost respect while your pet receives my undivided attention. I am experienced with senior pets, understand the nuances of pet-friendly travel, and am committed to providing the peace of mind that comes with knowing your furry family member—and your home—are in expert hands.

About: Hi! I'm Christina and I love animals! Loving all animals was instilled in me at birth. My father is now a retired Veterinarian. He owned and operated his clinic for 40 years. About: I’ve had dogs all of my life. I’ve watched dogs of all ages, sizes, and breeds! I have also taken care of a variety of other animals so i’m prepared for everything! I am currently working full time at an outdoors store. Depending on location I may be able to leave during the day for a little, but that is not guaranteed. I will always treat your dog as my own. It will always be my goal to make sure your pet is safe and cared for in the best way possible, and to ensure that your dog has the happiest wiggles!
About: I have had dogs and many different animals my whole life. I have also worked as a pet technician in a dog daycare for a while so I have experience with small medium and large dogs. I have a lot of open availability and I make time for pets. I have a big heart for animals and this is what I love to do! I am currently not working, I am taking college classes online so I have a flexible schedule. I am very dependable and will make sure your dog has a good time during the whole visit. I am very overly cautious when it comes to watching dogs mainly because I have 2 of my own and make sure they don't eat anything they aren't supposed. About: I’ve taken care of many kinds of dogs ever since I was 14. My neighbors, friends, and roommates have relied on me to take them on walks, feed them, and play with them. At my previous job I trained border collies and as well as some dogs at home. I’m currently full time, but I have a set morning and night schedule that I can easily work around to be able to care for your pets! I am also free to stay overnight as well. While I cannot offer to care for your pets in my home, I can easily care for them at your home by allowing them to see that I am a safe and friendly person. Each pet is differently and so I like to let them decide if they trust me and to read and determine what their behavior means. You know your pets best and I will make sure to adapt to the training you have set in place!

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Cottageville. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.
For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Cottageville. On Rover:
- 95% of walkers can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
