“Aimee did a great job taking good care of our puppy! She is very kind and passionate. She played very well with our puppy, brought him to potty, prepared food and water for him. Our puppy had a lot of fun.”

“Kat was GREAT!! From our initial meeting we knew we found our new dog sitter :) she has so much experience and took such great care of our babies. She left the house spotless and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable so that we could enjoy our vacation. She captured priceless photos as well! We will absolutely be booking with her again!”

“Andrew (Rusty) exceeded all my expectations when it came to boarding my two dogs. First of all, this was the first time they were boarded. They are 7 yrs. Old so I was a little nervous and wondering how my dogs would react. Rusty was amazing with them and they came back relaxed and I knew they were well taken care of. Rusty has a great fenced in area and my dogs love being outside. I highly recommend Rusty and so does Stella and Beau!”

“Kimberly went over and above in every way possible on her sit for my pack today. She made a difficult appointment I had today so easy and her kindness touched my heart deeply. I will definitely request Kimberly to sit again”

“Alex worked with our one dog who was nervous around him at first. He spent a lot of time at our house with our two dogs while we were on vacation. When we came back our dogs were tired and happy.”

“Kelly was an exceptional sitter for our senior dog Jynx. He was a very happy camper when we got home so we knew he was well taken care of during his time with Kelly. She took care of our home like it was her own and I would highly recommend Kelly to sit for any dog owner who is going to be away. We would definitely have her watch Jynx again in the future..”

“Carly did an amazing job taking care of our dog Hazel for a long weekend. She sent us adorable photos and kept in touch. She also left the house super neat and clean! Would definitely book her again!!”

About: I took care of my senior dog until he passed and I also have cared for many happy cats. I can do care from simple companionship and exercise to medication, special needs. I have a flexible schedule for this summer.I work part time at another job but that’s a very flexible schedule as well. I’m open to opportunities. I always try to maintain a safe and fun vibe during my time with pets. My priority at all times is making sure their needs are met.

About: So let's be realistic, we have pretty busy schedules as adults. I don't though so don't feel bad when you schedule me haha. I've been a papa to the biggest of fluffers and smallest of small dogs. I'm very familiar with the feisty kittens and old grumpy cats, and at one point even a gold fish I kept for 2 years. I am no stranger to particular schedules, care routines, or special requests of animals. You got shedders? Not a problem I have lint rollers haha. I have been in customer service for years now, and every time when making someone's day easier or allowing them to feel less stress it brings me the most joy. I've been a mix of animals owner most of my life from fostering animals in need or assisting family and friends with taking care of their animals. I also supply baggies for bathroom time and long sleeves if it's chilly outside. I go on a lot of walks!! Anytime I'm not home baking or hanging out with a friend I'm normally just out and about exploring my neighborhood. My set preference schedule is actually just for when I have to either go to the gym or when I schedule appointments because Mondays work easier. Your pets are the number one priority. If they require something and I am attending them I make sure it happens. Not only is your space respected when I watch them but also the pets space. Feeding times, walk routes, and any medical requirements and boundaries will be discussed because all situations are different. If something happens like say something fell or they went potty by accident I will clean it up no problem. A work space is better when it's clean but also when it's fun!!! I do bring things like cleaning baggies and lint rollers but I can also make sure any particular scents are avoided.
“Cassandra did a wonderful job with my dog Maisy. Right before leaving for vacation my dog spent 3 days in an emergency hospital for a toxin overdose. Cassandra made me feel so at ease leaving Maisy with her. She accommodated follow up visits with my normal vet and communicated well with me. I trust her completely with my dog and my home. Everything was in wonderful shape when I came back. Highly recommend.”

“This was our first-time using Rover and leaving our pup and cats with someone we didn't know. Gage met with us ahead of time and stayed in touch while we were gone with photos and updates. We felt comfortable knowing they were all in such good hands. Would refer and use Gage in the future! Thanks again!”

“Ashlee was awesome. She was excellent with keeping me up to date with how my skittish dog was doing. She sent pics, videos and updates multiple times per day. I would book again with her for sure!”
About: What sets me apart is the level of personalized care I provide. I take the time to understand each pet’s routine, personality, and specific needs so they feel safe and comfortable while you’re away. I have experience with puppy training basics such as leash manners, crate training, and reinforcing house rules, as well as senior pet care including administering medication, mobility support, and extra patience for aging pets. I treat every animal as if they were my own, providing consistent updates, plenty of affection, and dependable care you can truly trust. Pet care fits naturally into my daily and weekly routine. I structure my schedule around consistent feeding times, walks, play, and check-ins to ensure pets receive dependable care and attention. I’m flexible and organized, which allows me to accommodate special needs like medication schedules, training reinforcement, or extra time for senior pets. Caring for animals is something I genuinely enjoy, so it’s never rushed—it’s a priority. I provide attentive, personalized care whether pets are in my home or their own. In a client’s home, I follow their established routines closely—feeding schedules, walks, playtime, training reinforcement, and medication if needed—so pets feel comfortable and secure in a familiar environment. I keep the home tidy and provide regular updates with photos for peace of mind.
“Darla was wonderful when house / pet sitting and caring for our two dogs and cats. She spent much time with them, which they adored. She also treated our house with respect. I will definitely book her again for future time away.”

“One of the best we have found on Rove! Please do not hesitate to book Kathy as needed. She’s kind, communicative, competent, and very caring towards our animals, as is her whole family!”

“We would re-book Jillina without hesitation. She is a high integrity, super responsible pet sitter who will make it a priority to comfort and care for your pets. She truly bonded with our felines (2 mature Siberian cats). Her attention to our details, which we clearly outlined, were kept without compromise. We graced her with a lot of latitude in our home which she treated with great respect and did not in any way take advantage of. Our cats will miss her! Jillian personifies the ideal pet sitter.”

“EXCELLENT! that’s the one word I’d use to recommend Mel! She is incredibly responsible and followed every instruction I gave her to the T. When my sick dog had an accident, she cleaned up immediately and administered her regular medications exactly as instructed. My fussy, pampered dogs were fed precisely the way I wanted, without compromise. Mel went above and beyond with endless kisses, hugs, and belly rubs, so much so that my dogs were reluctant to leave the true 5-star treatment they received. Our furry babies may not speak, but they always let us know when they’ve been genuinely loved and cared for in our absence. And yes, they definitely “told” me they want to be with Mel again! If I could give her 10 stars, I absolutely would. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐”

Samantha was incredible! She was communicative throughout the visit sending numerous pictures and videos while also asking questions to help make sure the pups were as comfortable as possible. Lady - who doesn't warm up to anyone easily - pretty quickly found her to be a safe person, and it was clear that all three dogs were spending time with her without feeling any notable disruption to their usual routine. We would absolutely recommend her care!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of September 2026, there are 1,961 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Round Lake Park. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Round Lake Park walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Round Lake Park maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Round Lake Park choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Round Lake Park. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
