“Gabbi is the best!! Our dogs are high energy and she was an amazing help in keeping them entertained while we were away. She kept us informed with pictures/texts and she really made us feel more comfortable being away from our fur babies. We would definitely use Gabbi again and would highly recommend to anyone needing a great dog/house sitter!!”

“Mary was absolutely wonderful! She took excellent care of my two Dachshunds and treated them like they were her own. Her professionalism and clear communication gave me total peace of mind while I was away. It’s clear that her experience really shows—she knew exactly how to keep my pups happy and comfortable. I would definitely use her services again in the future and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring dog sitter!”

“First time using rover. Was very satisfied, Richard responded to all communication in a very timely manner, sent pictures and did everything I asked. Would not hesitate to use him again. Thank you Richard!”

“Natalie is the absolute best! We always feel comfortable with her staying with our 5 fur babies and she handles their idiosyncrasies flawlessly! Thank you Natalie!”

“This was our first time using Rover. Hannah made us feel at ease and gave us good updates throughout her stay. We are very appreciative of the piece of mind she gave us, and I believe our dogs liked her and took to her during the stay. Thank you Hannah!”

“Lindsay was great! She stayed at our house for a week and took such good care of our dog. She would take him on walks around the block-even though I told her it wasn’t necessary and we came home to a clean house! I would definitely reach out to her again for our dog sitting needs and appreciate her taking such good care of our pup while we were away.”

“There is no rating high enough for Sarah. From pre-booking to the home visit, to watching our home and our fur babies while we were on vacation, Sarah was amazing. Her situation was unique that in addition to taking care of our adult cats, we asked her to take care of a (somewhat friendly) mama cat and her 5 week old kittens. Sarah graciously offered her time for 24/7 care. And of course, just when we thought all was going smoothly, a hornet appeared in our finished basement which is unusual. This is where mama and babies are located. Then another one appeared - VERY unusual. When the third one appeared, not so far from the kittens, Sarah sprang into action and, together, we figured out a safe solution to draw any potential bees inside the home to outside the home. Sarah was a real trooper and took care of the home and pets like they were her own. No more bees appeared and life returned to “normal”. Well, as normal as can be for a home with cats and kittens. I can vouch for Sarah and she will be our first choice for future house and pet care needs. Sarah is friendly, trustworthy, and an excellent communicator and our fur babies loved her.”

“Mariah was awesome! She sent me pictures of my pups daily. I felt so confident they were in good hands! She left my house clean. Like she was not even there. Thanks so much Mariah!!”

“Katelyn was amazing. She is consistent and honest, and sincerely loves animals and respects owners times and wishes. I was comfortable with her house sitting in my home ! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”
“Hannah is responsive and communicated well. She was available on short notice and was able to do a meet and greet prior to watching the gals this weekend. She sent pictures and updates and left the house as she found it.”

“Gabriella took very good care of Poppy while we were out of town for a few days! Very good communication. Super easy to schedule an initial meet and greet. Poppy loved Gabriella’s vibe from the start. Thank you!!”

“Abby was wonderful! Both of my dogs were exceptionally cared for. She kept me up-to-date while she was house sitting. She exceeded my expectations! I highly recommend Abby for your pet sitting needs!”
“Lindsey was awesome! Incredibly communicative and sent lots of sweet photos of our gals. They were wonderfully cared for and were very happy. Would absolutely book again!”

About: I have taken care of dogs and cats throughout most of my life. I have working knowledge of puppy training and I’m open to dogs with high energy. I currently work a full‑time job but I’m available for morning and afternoon drop‑ins during the week. I also offer weekend availability for drop‑in visits. I care for my pets by maintaining a structured, consistent routine, and I bring that same approach to caring for yours. I understand how important a predictable schedule is for your pet’s comfort and well‑being, and I’m committed to supporting that stability
“Molly was wonderful with our 75lb Golden Retriever. She stayed in our house with him for a week and sent pictures and updates daily. We also returned to a nice and clean home. Thanks Molly!”

About: I've always had at least one animal by my side ever since I was an infant. My direct pet care experience includes dogs, cats, mice, hamsters, and fish. (Oh! I also would like to add two honorable mentions.. the toads and frogs I often see around my home. Although, there is no direct care, I like to think I have a relationship with each of them.) I currently have a family Golden Retriever named Sasha. We call her Sushie and Sashimi for short :) I've also have had the gift of being around friends' and families' animals, including goats, chickens, ducks, bunnies, rats, cats, and dogs. Also, I used to volunteer at Animal Friends, which is now called Heal Animal Rescue. It was a great experience being able to care for dogs that didn't have a permanent home or company. Some of the care I gave included cleaning their kennels to ensure that each dog had a healthy environment to live in, exercising with them, ensuring they had fresh food and water, and simply offering them company, especially since their visitors may have been sparse outside of us volunteers and staff. Animals are God's precious creatures. Each and every one is beautiful and created by God. I believe that we have been given the opportunity to steward them well and with love. Thus, it would be an honor and privilege to take care of your precious loved one. My work schedule is partially remote, so I can be available on certain week days during standard 8:30-4 PM work hours. My remote days are currently Mondays and Tuesday. In the evenings and weekends, I can be free too with notice! To ensure the safety of everyone, I request a walk-through of items and places I'd be using at your home prior to care. This may include showing me important things like, how your pet gate opens and closes, how your front door locks, how to administer certain medicine, etc. I appreciate any and all information about the pet and home so that we can all have a lovely experience :)
About: I took excellent care of my dog who just passed away at the age of 16. I walked him every day. I gave him lots of affection and care. I currently do not have a job. I’ll have plenty of time to give your dog love and affection. My dog lived a long healthy life. I can give them plenty of care by playing with them and petting them. I can also take them for walks when they need that.
“Traisaun stayed over a weekend with our 2 elderly dogs and cat. He sent pictures each day to keep us updated on their wellbeing and all were very happy when we returned. He is also very prompt with timing and kept our home tidy. We’ll be calling Traisaun the next time we need a sitter!”

“Cam went above and beyond to comfort our dog during 4th of July fireworks! Our dog was well taken care of, and clearly felt comfortable with Cam.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Rosslyn Farms
We couldn’t have asked for a better pet sitter! Mamie took such great care of our dogs while we were away, especially during the storms and Fourth of July fireworks, which can be stressful for them. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing they were in such caring and attentive hands. She was incredibly communicative, sending regular check-ins and lots of photos, which we truly appreciated. Seeing our pups happy and comfortable made it so much easier to relax while we were away. Highly recommend!

Kasey and Alyssa were the best dog sitters I could ever ask for! They checked in, sent daily photos, and were willing to stay an extra night when flight back looked like it might not be making it back. I knew my dog was in good hands with them and I would 100% rebook them!

Chowder and Patrick loved their stay with Rachel! Chowder has become even more obsessed with his favorite toy because Rachel played with him so much! And she made Patrick feel so comfortable he was out and about and snuggly! She was extremely thorough and we felt totally safe leaving our fur babies in her care!

Lindsay is awesome!! This is the second time I have used her for housesitting. She sent pictures and videos of my pup every day, I would definitely recommend using her. We came home to a spotless house after being gone for a week. I really appreciate everything she’s has done.

Chelsea took care of our dog and two cats recently and did an amazing job. She really goes above and beyond and I will definitely ask Chelsea to help out again. Our animals have unique needs and Chelsea was able to do it all, the animals also had a great time with her!

Mackenzie watched our two dogs from 12/29-1/4. We have nothing but positive feedback. She stayed in our home and kept everything in order and our new puppy Penny is only 4 months old and I did not feel that I needed to worry about anything while on vacation. We loved seeing all of the pictures that were sent to us and would highly recommend d Makenzie for all dog sitting needs.

Shawnee was so wonderful with our dog Benny. He is an older dog with separation anxiety so we always feel a little nervous leaving him but Shawnee’s excellent communication, kindness and professionalism put us at ease. She followed all of our care instructions and took the time to get to know and meet his needs. I especially appreciated the photos and updates she sent throughout the stay—I could tell he warmed up to her and did well while we were away. We will definitely be using her again!

FAQs for House Sitting - Rosslyn Farms
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 1,499 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Rosslyn Farms. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Rosslyn Farms walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Rosslyn Farms maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Rosslyn Farms choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Rosslyn Farms. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 92% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
