“I found a great family to watch my dogs over the weekend! Melissa, Angel and their 2 boys made my pups feel right at home! They sent photos and a video each day of the dogs sleeping, playing, watching TV on the couch with family. Mellisa and Angel are my new go to people with Rover.”
“Elaine was great with my pup Nugget. She sent daily pictures and updated me each evening about Nugget's day. It was wonderful to be able to enjoy my vacation knowing that my fur baby was in such good hands. Will definitely book Elaine again!”
“Leila did a great job taking care of both my dogs. She had extra toys for them to play with as well as extra dog beds for afternoon naps. My dogs had humans to snuggle at night. Leila walked them in the morning and we received pictures every day. Great fenced in backyard. We will use again”
“Monica was amazing! She was so flexible with us and our two cats. She housed them for a night and then when we couldn't have them at our hotel took them back in for 4 days without question. They returned to us happy and healthy! She has a great space and sent us pictures of our boys where they would settle for the evening. Monica was also very responsive immediately if we had questions and with pick up drop off times. Definitely recommend!”
“Very friendly and communicative. Sent photo updates. Very quick response time. Oakley seemed so happy to be there and got along with her family well. My dog had an uncharacteristic accident (pee) over night and Ana handled this without issue or frustration. She helped Oakleys settle in and feel comfortable so this didn’t happen again!”
“We are so thrilled with Emily! With how nervous our dog is, he warmed up immediately to her and even started to come out of his shell so soon. Emily is very thoughtful and courteous with how much she updates us. Will definitely be booking with her again!”
“This is my second time booking with Gwen. Each time was a phenomenal experience. Gwen was extremely thoughtful, provided frequent updates, and several pictures of my pup's vacation. Always appreciated, thank you!”
“6 stars needs to be on the scale. Been using rover for a while, Scott and his family are friendly, easy going and a joy to “work” with. Welcoming to are puppy (at the time of) Cheesy. He was transparent the entire stay with picture dumps and updates daily. Two thumbs up”
“Jazmine (and her boyfriend Norman) took wonderful care of our 12-year-old black Lab, Judy, who is a cancer survivor and a bit particular—sweet, but needy and not a fan of other dogs. Jazmine cared for her in her home, made sure she had her morning medicine, and sent us daily updates with snuggle photos that made us feel completely at ease. Judy was clearly loved and beautifully looked after. Warm, professional, and trustworthy—highly recommend.”
“My pup, Candy was very happy with her stay. Joanne was very kind and kept me updated on how everything was going and I felt confident leaving Candy there. I would book again.”
“Isabella was great. I booked my two dogs last minute and she was so accommodating and communicative. She sent pictures and updates regularly and always let me know what was going on. The dogs loved her and we will be using her again!”
“Sharon and her family took outstanding care of our aging JRT while we travelled. She was receptive to our list of suggestions and kept in communication during our trip, sending us photos of Daisy playing and continuing normal patterns which were an assurance that all was well. We wondered if Daisy missed us at all! We would highly recommend Sharon as an outstanding dog-sitter!”
“Sarah and her husband accommodated another short notice overnight with my big, goofy puppy. She was very flexible with arranging the care and sent many updates through the day. They make sure dogs in their care get whatever they need- exercise, playtime, attention and love. 😀”
“Scotty was wonderful, took a last minute booking for us and took great care of our dog. He was super responsive and sent us photos of Arlo playing. Scotty’s has an energy about him that puts you at ease about leaving your dog. You can tell he really loves them and that they’ll be in good hands. I would highly recommend him. Arlo is fast asleep from a short but fun stay with Scotty.”
“It’s been a while since our Whiskey Boy has been around other dogs since two ACL surgeries. He has an amazing time… Jason sent us pictures throughout and took great care of our boy! Will absolutely reach out next time!”
“Maria was a wonderful caretaker for my dog Nola. She sent pics everyday of Nola playing with her new doggy friends. She looked happy and well adjusted. I will definitely be using Maria again in the near future.”
“What an amazing experience! It felt like I left my pup with family. They kept me in the loop and I could tell my pup was happy. What more can you ask for. Amazing. Thank you.”
“Our dog, Frankie, stayed with Marleny and Luis for the second time! He had a great time playing and relaxing with them. They were so responsible, flexible and kind. We even got to keep up with our boy throughout the weekend through pictures sent! We would bring him back there.”
“Gabriela was amazing. Got updates on my dog daily and she was great overall! If you are looking for someone great to watch your pet look no further. Muchas gracias Gabriela”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Roseto home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Roseto.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Roseto sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in PA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
