“Kayla was great. Constant communication, took awesome care of my big terrors. Went above and beyond. Would definitely recommend her and will use her again in the future. Thanks!”

“Angela was amazing, she agreed to take care of a seven year-old Rabbit while we were gone. She also had to administer medicine to this Rabbit and did so without any issues. She sent many photos and text giving us updates on the status of our Rabbit Ziggy. I would highly recommend Angela for any small care and also home visits. Raymond”

“Sonia is a cat whisperer. My Luna is scared of everyone new and hides for days. By day 2, Luna let Sonia pet her. I will definitely have Sonia complete drop in visits again for my Luna.”

About: I have grown up with dogs my whole life, including my fur baby that I raised since she was a puppy. I have experience with puppies, kittens, senior cats, and all ages of dogs. I also used to volunteer at the Halo Rescue Cat Adoption Center when I first started pet sitting. I love all animals, including sea turtles! I am currently working as a non-profit sea turtle biologist and I am most available on weekends and select weekdays. Due to my flexible & partially remote schedule, I can take time throughout the day for potty breaks and walks. The key to effective pet care is constant supervision when pets are outside. This is where my experience as an environmental educator comes in as it has fine-tuned my ability to be constantly aware of my surroundings. Also, I am used to being a clear thinker in chaotic situations from my experience working with children.
“Kristina was great! She started by offering to do a meet and greet, which was fantastic because our big dog can be a jumper and our puppy can be skittish. And then when she did our drop in for us, she was very communicative and provided a lot of updates. We highly recommend Kristina!”

“I don’t remember if I left a review but it’s months later and I still remember how amazing Tina was with my fendi. She communicated to me and attentive. She made me feel ok when leaving my dog for long 12 hour shifts as a nurse. Thank you!”

“Yaretzi or Nina was very punctually and I didn't have a worry with my fur babies while she was watching them. The only thing I would suggest is that she be more attentive to my dogs in the 30 minute window of the drop in service”

“Jonathan was absolutely fantastic caring for our cat Sheba for 4 days during Thanksgiving. He was very polite, attentions, and accommodating to all our needs. He communicated with us at each twice-a-day visit, letting us know how she was, which gave us peace of mind. I cannot thank him enough for all the care and good work. We highly recommend him and we will definitely have him again.”

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Roseland. On Rover:

- 99% can help with giving oral medications or injections

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
