“Shannon was fabulous! Our dogs (and cat) felt at home with her. She did a fantastic job taking care of the house, and making sure that our fur babies weren't too anxious with our leave. WILL use again when needed in the future! Highly recommend her for your pet needs!”

About: I've cared for people's dogs, cats, fish and homes for a couple of years in the Lacey, WA area. I work remotely so most days I can be with your pets all day and I have stayed in homes for up to two weeks. I love animals and will play with your furry family members, take them for walks, give them medicine and stick to the routines you have established. I love gardening and am happy to water plants while you are away. I work remotely so as long as you have wifi, I can stay with your pet(s) during the day! I can stay with your pets any day/night of the week. I will follow your routine, take your pets for a pup cup if allowed, or just hang out and play and snuggle in your home. I work remotely so I can easily take your dog(s) for walks or play fetch in the yard on breaks. I am comfortable giving injections and other meds if required. Of you need me to take out garbage bins or water plants, I am happy to do that as well. I will leave your home just as I found it, ready for your arrival.
About: I have 3 dogs of my own; my old man toy poodle Chai, big baby Baxter, and sweet lil mama Maisie! All of them are non aggressive, and love new friends. My husband is military, so as we travel, I have worked on rescuing and rehabilitating animals in need. I’ve been doing kennel boarding/daycare for some time now, but am looking to specialize in giving individualized love, care, and attention to each of my fuzzy friends! When caring for your pets, I treat them how I would my own fur babies! I have experience in a wide range of animals, energy level, personality, and emergency situations. I offer socialization training with my own babies, so they can have amazing friends to play with! I am working towards an animal CPR & FA certification, as well as taking courses to become a certified dog trainer. I’m currently working from home, so I have plenty of time for taking care of your fur babies! I do regular potty breaks every 2 hours with scheduled activities throughout the day. All my kiddos are friendly and loving towards every new friend they meet! Your baby will be accepted as one of family in a well structured environment. Depending on every pups personal preference, I do slow distanced introductions and eventually close the gap till everyone is comfortable. Once introduced as friends, we can do all activities as a group!

“Mary was great as usual! She went above and beyond in navigating my wishy-washy schedule this past weekend; the puppies are happy and comfortable with her, and she even watered the garden. I highly recommend her.”

“We had a good experience with Madisyn! The house was left spotless and communication throughout the stay was great — she sent updates, pictures and was easy to reach. Our one note is that she was out quite late one evening, which we weren't expecting. I'd recommend discussing schedules and expectations upfront, as she is a popular sitter with other jobs. I would still consider booking again, as we discussed that issue and she was very responsive. Thanks, Madisyn!”

About: As an experienced dog sitter, I go beyond basic care by truly understanding each dog’s unique personality and needs. I have a natural ability to read their body language and adapt to their moods, ensuring they feel comfortable, happy, and secure while you’re away. Whether it’s administering medications, following specific dietary plans, or providing enriching playtime and walks, I tailor my approach to each dog’s routine. My calm and attentive demeanor helps even the most anxious dogs feel at ease, and I maintain clear communication with pet owners for peace of mind. Having cared for my own senior Pomeranian, Zeus, until he was 14, I am particularly attuned to the special needs of older dogs, including administering medications and adjusting routines for their comfort. I currently have an year and a half year old Yellow Labrador Retriever named cooper, so well experienced with puppies I’m currently home full-time, so I have a very flexible schedule and can give your pets lots of attention throughout the day. Whether your dog needs frequent potty breaks, long walks, playtime, feeding schedules, medication, or just extra cuddles and companionship, I’m able to be there consistently. I love getting outside for walks and making sure dogs stay mentally and physically happy while you’re away. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I treat every animal like they’re my own and take the time to learn their routine, personality, and needs. I’m experienced with dogs of different ages, energy levels, and temperaments, including senior dogs and puppies. I always keep a close eye during walks, potty breaks, feeding, and playtime to make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for in a calm environment.
“Ruby exceeded our expectations in caring for our Aussies. She came by to check in right before we left for our trip and provided us with regular updates and adorable photos. Our dogs were calm and happy when we returned, a testament to her exceptional care. She was diligent in cleaning up after herself and took the initiative to strip the bed and place the dog dishes in the sink. We couldn't be happier with her service and will undoubtedly book Ruby again for our future pet sitting needs!”

About: My name is Kaitlyn, and I'm a dog trainer in the Grays Harbor area. I have been successfully working with owners to rehabilitate fearful and/or reactive dogs for almost a decade now. I have also been a competitive dog agility instructor for 7 years. My own dog is Oakley, a Miniature American Shepherd, and he helps me with fearful or reactive dog clients by being a neutral dog with great communication skills. Before becoming a dog trainer full time, I worked at a dog daycare in Mukilteo for 3 years. It was a great experience and gave me a lot of knowledge about dog behavior and handling large groups of dogs. I compete in seven different dog sports with my own dogs, but we love agility and flyball most. I am available whenever I'm not already teaching classes or at a competition. Scheduling is open as we just moved to the new area from Seattle. I am experienced with dogs who are difficult or nervous around strangers. I use scientifically backed, LIMA guided dog training to guide dogs through their feelings as gently as I am capable while accomplishing learning. In any case, I like to engage with dogs in a way that's most comfortable for them. Each dog is different! I am not comfortable taking unfamiliar dogs off leash outside of the home or yard for safety reasons, but I am happy to work on this skill with them if requested!
“My dogs absolutely LOVED staying with Toni and her family. Her sweet boy Junior was a great companion for my two dogs. She kept me updated and sent the sweetest pictures of my babies. I will 10000% be rebooking with Toni! 20/10 stars!!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs, cats, house birds, falcons, rodents, fish, chickens, ducks, and plenty of other animals since I was a child and have helped care for both young and senior pets I’m currently unemployed searching for jobs, so my routine is really flexible, only needing to set aside time for job interviews and family. I currently have the ability for extended house/pet sitting needs. I do not have the ability for boarding animals currently, however with the services I currently offer I am gentle and respectful of all animals, their owners, and the owners property.
About: Some of my earliest memories were fur baby family members. I lived in households with black and brown lab's, Shar Pei's, Yorkie's, Chihuahua, and multiple cats. At 5 years old I wanted a cat so bad that I hid one in the car. My mom noticed the cat on the drive home. After discussing it with the original owner it was discovered that he did need a new home and that is how Smokie joined the household. At 8 years old, I got permission for my second cat Speckles. I was allowed to help bottle feed him before he was able to come home with me. He lived to the age of 19. My schedule is very open and flexible, I look forward to meeting you and your fur babies. Wednesday mornings I go visit my grandma, I am free during the afternoon after visiting her. I will be caring for your pets in your home. I'm available for drop in care, check-in's, pet sitting, house sitting, and overnight care. I do have mobility limitations, I walk with the assistance of a cane and therefore am unable to offer pet walking services at this time. I have a service animal, my small dog Leroy. He gets along very well with cats and dogs of all sizes.
“Veronica did a great job of taking care of our cats. She sent us daily updates and communicated very well and always asked questions if she wasn't sure or needed more clarification. She spent extra one on one time with our newly adopted somewhat feral kitty working on getting her more socialized.”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since my brother got a puppy himself and one of my best friends got a husky pup! I would dog sit for them all the time so I quickly learned what a dog needs and how to care for them! Im currently a chiropractic student at Parker University so I have plenty of time to care for your dog most weekdays and weekends since my class schedule can be flexible! I am not able to provide care in my own home because my landlord does not allow pets. However, im more than willing to come to your house and follow the instructions you would like for me to follow!
“This was our first time using Rover and our first experience with an in‑home overnight sitter, and Brian delivered exceptional service. His communication was consistent and clear, he was reliable and he arrived exactly as scheduled. We returned to two well‑cared‑for dogs and a home exactly as we left it. Brian set a high standard for our first experience, and we would confidently book with him again.”

About: I am a reliable pet sitter with years of experience. I’ve dealt with dogs of all ages, personalities, and unique needs. I care for each animal with patience and understanding, but ultimately I know that providing good pet care comes down to attention and communication. I make sure to follow instructions and try my best to make your pet feel comfortable and cared for. I always send lots of photos and updates, perhaps too many. 😅 I also have a flexible schedule, which makes it easy for me to adapt to your pet’s routine. I’d love to walk, watch, and care for your dog! I work a part time during the week but I’m not usually gone for more than 3 hours at a time. My weekends are flexible leaving me open for more extensive pet care. I am trustworthy, risk-averse, and follow directions to a tee. No request is too small or too big when caring for these angels. I understand what it’s like to worry when you’re away. I am here hopefully to alleviate that stress by accommodating you and your pet. ☺️
About: Iv always grown up around animals especially dogs. From a family setting to being just me and my dog in college. I’m a current service member so I have access on JBLM as well. I only have my one pup and getting her a fun friend for a few days is fun for us both. I’m currently off work all summer so I’m usually taking my dog on walks 2+ times a day and just getting out to enjoy the PNW sun. Super careful at first and then loosen up when I learn how they want to play and interact. Some dogs want go play 24/7 and some just like to be a potato. Both are great to me
About: Hello and thank you for reading my ‘About Me.’ I’m looking for just a few families to provide dog walking and pet care for their dogs. I’m looking to only do private walks so your pet(s) would get my full attention. I can watch your dogs in your home or mine and I have a clean background and fenced yard. Please contact me if you have any questions. I am looking forward to meeting you and taking care of your sweet dogs. Thank you, Lauren

FAQs for House Sitting - Rony
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 480 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Rony. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Rony walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Rony maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Rony choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Rony. On Rover:
- 98% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
