“Carina was great! She came by the house to get to know my boys and go through the routine and schedule. She gave me updates during the visit and made me feel comfortable leaving my babies at home.”

“Veronica came to my rescue after my original sitter cancelled as we were on the road driving out of state. She kept me informed and was able to give my loveable pups the attention and care they needed. Will definitely book with her again the future!!”

When I was young I had a car, a shitzu dog another dog I can’t remember the breed, a Rottweiler shepherd mix, and full German shepherd. I currently have 2 black lab hound mixes! I absolutely love and adore animals! This will be my job and I love being around dogs of all kind! I would be honored to house sit take your dog on a walk or even just drop by for a potty break! I will make sure to follow the owners rules and make sure the pet has everything it needs I will take it to use the bathroom I will play and make sure they are kept fed and always have water and if it needs medicine I’ll distribute the medicine as directed by owner!
“Alisha is just wonderful! We have a senior dog and another who tends to have separation anxiety. Our dogs loved her and they were very well cared for in our absence. I 100% recommend Alisha!”

“Brittany was great with our senior girls! She took amazing care of them and we never felt worried about their well being. We have already booked again with Brittany and Hailey and will continue to do so.”

About: I grew up with all sorts of pet friends: frogs, geckos, dogs, and cats. From a year long pet sitting gig to one of my regulars that has geese and ducks! Let me know how I can provide peace of mind to your family while you're away. My work from home position and my Wednesday-Sunday work schedule gives me a unique position that most others cannot provide. I am home bound for work during typical "social days" and love to have pets of all kinds as my coworkers! Everyone's needs are different. I personally have two indoor cats that I would never let out. But, I know others who have an outdoor cat they take on walks. Understanding that each pet has a different personality, routines, and temperament is the key to making sure everyone's needs are met.

“Mary was great as usual! She went above and beyond in navigating my wishy-washy schedule this past weekend; the puppies are happy and comfortable with her, and she even watered the garden. I highly recommend her.”

“Exceptional! That's the word that perfectly encapsulates our experience with Adam. He came through for us at the eleventh hour when our initial dog sitter canceled, stepping in to care for our furry family members during the Christmas break. His presence didn't just put our minds at ease; it filled our hearts with gratitude. With a 4-year-old Havanese and a 15-year-old mini-Labradoodle, leaving our dogs, especially our elderly one, with a relative stranger was nerve-wracking. However, Adam's dedication and understanding of our pets' needs transformed our apprehension into trust. He not only stayed in our home but also surpassed all expectations by keeping us updated multiple times a day. His regular messages, complete with photos and videos, allowed us to witness firsthand the happiness of our girls. Administering medication to our Labradoodle was no easy feat, but Adam's commitment shone through as he took the time to learn her preferences and comfort zones. Remarkably, our senior dog ate well under his care, something she rarely does in our absence. Adam tailored his walks to suit our doodle's energy levels, demonstrating an unparalleled level of attentiveness. Adam's thoughtfulness extended beyond pet care; he attended to household chores, from taking out the garbage to refreshing the sheets and tidying up the house. Though we missed our beloved pups, the peace of mind knowing they were content and cherished made it the greatest gift of the season. I wholeheartedly endorse Adam to anyone seeking a trustworthy, conscientious, and genuinely caring pet sitter.”

“Samantha was amazing with my dog Rosie. She sent me pictures and videos every day of their adventures together. She also left my home immaculate. Samantha is a very pleasant and caring young woman. She is by far the best pet sitter I have ever used.”

“Kristine, was prompt with her arrival and gave our dogs lots of attention. She provided lots of quality play time during her stay and txted pics for us to enjoy. We plan to us Kristine’s services in the future and highly recommend her to you as well.”

About: As an experienced dog sitter, I go beyond basic care by truly understanding each dog’s unique personality and needs. I have a natural ability to read their body language and adapt to their moods, ensuring they feel comfortable, happy, and secure while you’re away. Whether it’s administering medications, following specific dietary plans, or providing enriching playtime and walks, I tailor my approach to each dog’s routine. My calm and attentive demeanor helps even the most anxious dogs feel at ease, and I maintain clear communication with pet owners for peace of mind. Having cared for my own senior Pomeranian, Zeus, until he was 14, I am particularly attuned to the special needs of older dogs, including administering medications and adjusting routines for their comfort. I currently have an year and a half year old Yellow Labrador Retriever named cooper, so well experienced with puppies I’m currently home full-time, so I have a very flexible schedule and can give your pets lots of attention throughout the day. Whether your dog needs frequent potty breaks, long walks, playtime, feeding schedules, medication, or just extra cuddles and companionship, I’m able to be there consistently. I love getting outside for walks and making sure dogs stay mentally and physically happy while you’re away. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I treat every animal like they’re my own and take the time to learn their routine, personality, and needs. I’m experienced with dogs of different ages, energy levels, and temperaments, including senior dogs and puppies. I always keep a close eye during walks, potty breaks, feeding, and playtime to make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for in a calm environment.
“Holly is an excellent sitter who I would absolutely recommend to anyone who needs a sitter for a quick check in or for a longer stay. She watched my dogs for a week while I was across the country and she was communicative and went the extra mile to make sure my dogs were comfortable. I’ve used her multiple times in the past and it’s always been a great experience. Holly is also very flexible for emergencies and changes in schedules. I will continue to use her in the future!”

“Ehryn is truly exceptional! She played with Charlee, got to know her, cared for her. Ehryn also cared for our yard as we had arranged and left detailed written messages about her activities. Clearly a capable and loving companion for our pooch.”

“Amanda did an amazing job looking after our fur babies. She kept us updated on our pups and she gave us a peace of mind knowing that our pups will be well taken care of. We will definitely re-book with her in the future.”

“Chelsie was a fantastic carer for my calico! She even won over my prickly princess ❤️. House was left spotless and I came home to happy, stress free kitties. Will book again!”

“Toni was beyond amazing! She gave our dogs so much love and kept them company when we were gone. So much so that when we got home they were excited to see us for 15 minutes then slept the rest of the day! I am forever grateful for her and her family even more so for caring for my one pupper who had a health episode when in her care. They handed everything amazing and took amazing care of him. I would love to book her again!”
About: I have 3 dogs of my own; my old man toy poodle Chai, big baby Baxter, and sweet lil mama Maisie! All of them are non aggressive, and love new friends. My husband is military, so as we travel, I have worked on rescuing and rehabilitating animals in need. I’ve been doing kennel boarding/daycare for some time now, but am looking to specialize in giving individualized love, care, and attention to each of my fuzzy friends! When caring for your pets, I treat them how I would my own fur babies! I have experience in a wide range of animals, energy level, personality, and emergency situations. I offer socialization training with my own babies, so they can have amazing friends to play with! I am working towards an animal CPR & FA certification, as well as taking courses to become a certified dog trainer. I’m currently working from home, so I have plenty of time for taking care of your fur babies! I do regular potty breaks every 2 hours with scheduled activities throughout the day. All my kiddos are friendly and loving towards every new friend they meet! Your baby will be accepted as one of family in a well structured environment. Depending on every pups personal preference, I do slow distanced introductions and eventually close the gap till everyone is comfortable. Once introduced as friends, we can do all activities as a group!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of September 2026, there are 482 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Lankner. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Lankner walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Lankner maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Lankner choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Lankner. On Rover:
- 98% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
