About: I have taken care of various animals since I was a young girl. I was born and raised on a dairy farm in upstate NY where I have helped train and raised many different kinds of animals including horses, cows, dogs, pigs, bunnies, cats, goats, and more. Neighbors friends family have all relied on me to feed bathe and walk their most precious animals without any problems. I am a stay at home mom & and care for animals as my full time job. I spend most of my time at home other than going to the store or my kids games for school. I am able to give your fur baby the best care possible to ensure they are appropriately cared for and loved as they should be through out their stay at my home. My first priority is keeping your fury friend safe and then they will be also be happy. I want your pet to feel at home when they are at my house. Depending on the service you request and the need for your specific animal this will vary. Each animal will have it's own individualized plan agreed upon with the animals owner.
About: I’ve always had the biggest heart for animals! I was an animal science major in high school and spent much time volunteering at doggy daycares. In college I studied basic canine care and training where I got more experience and knowledge in training different types of dogs. I currently have a couple of pups that I gain more experience from everyday! 🥰 Currently in between employments and looking for something to keep me occupied that would benefit others as well. So I’ll be available anytime that would be convenient for you! I have decent space for my pups and have my own precautions. I will prioritize the safety and wellbeing of your fur baby as if they're my own, so I assure you that I will follow any and all instructions given to me by you.

“If I could leave 10 stars I would! Kyliegh is great with Dallas. I was very stressed about finding someone to walk him and spend some time with him while I work but Kyliegh has made all of those fears disappear. Dallas can be difficult and at times even intimidating but she didn’t give up and made sure she did all she could to make Dallas comfortable. I would highly recommend Kyliegh! I have 0 complaints!”

“Great experience with Melinda :)! She made the effort to come beforehand fro a meet and greet and she was great with my cats. It was so nice to be away and not worry about my fur babies :).”

“Excellent! Super friendly, immediate and positive responses, very engaged, incredible with dogs. Even noticed a medical condition in my poodle and offered to help. Even helped with other animals on property. Super thank you! Would 100% recommend. Dependable, honest, proactive, engaging communicator, trustworthy, and non-judgemental.”

“Gabriella has been a true blessing for us this holiday. Having two senior pets with special medical needs, we are constantly worried about them. We were very nervous to leave home, but Gabriella was truly caring, professional, and dedicated. Upon our arrival home, we found Christmas presents for our babies waiting on the table. We are so grateful for the wonderful care our pets received from Gabriella and highly recommend her!”

“Amazing pet sitter! Emily was amazing with my cats and made sure they were taken care of and loved when I was away. She provided pictures throughout her visit and had excellent communication the entire time. Even though my cats can be skittish around new people they loved Emily! Highly recommend for your pet sitting needs”

About: I grew up on a farm in Reseda, CA with as many as 9 dogs at 1 time and also goats, bunnies, guinea pigs, hamsters. Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Rome
l was at first very nervous about hiring a cat sitter for my two cats that I had not met before I was leaving for vacation. But Tyler came to my house the day I was leaving to meet me and my two cats. He was very friendly, paid close attention to the directions I was giving and seemed very interested in doing a good job for my guys. And he did. I was very pleased with the care he gave my pets and will hire him again that's for sure

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
