Christie was excellent. My puppies loved her. While we were away, she sent me pics of the puppies every day doing something in their normal daily routine. She took them for walkies, which cemented her and their relationship because it is one of their favorite activities which we told her was optional because they get super excited and is like walking a team of pulling sled dogs. She handled it with ease. When we returned home after the "happy to see you" reunion, the puppies were calm, full of tail wags, and going back to Christie to be petted and loved on. Christie also watered my garden for me while we were gone. She is very neat and tidy and the house was exactly mirror to when we left the week before. Our puppies have limited access to other people so they are suspicious of all new people they encounter, Christie won our dogs over with ease because she has a very gentle, kind, and genuinely caring nature as person. If you want worry free pet care and house sitting you should contact Christie.

Angelica was great with our pups and our home. Excellent messages/updates/pictures. Walks were good exercise, not just a quick walk for them to pee. We’re looking forward to having her back.

Highly trustworthy and we can’t wait to have her again in August. Pips is thankful for you, in her own little ways!

About: I am a 30 year old female who loves all animals. I have grown up with animals all my life and have owned many of my own pets. I very much like spending time walking around or just sitting and gaming and cuddling with my pets. I am able to train puppies as i have owned a 3 time grand champion vizsla, though I am no professional I was just taught so i could show my dog. I enjoy spending time in the woods and or in the ocean just being about in the beauty of nature. I hope and pray to be able to meet your little or big angel because that is what a pet is an ANGEL and a beloved family member. please enjoy your day! it is my life. i do this for my job, but i do love all animals so i am more than happy to do this. im very patient and willing to just let them get to know me. i follow things to a tee that way your pet gets the care it needs

Vivien did an excellent job caring for my aging feline on the 4th of July when I had to be away from her. Throughout the evening of fireworks explosions, Vivien kept my Kitty calm and soothed her so that she felt safe. She stayed with her overnight and left when all was well the next morning. The peace of mind this gave me was tremendous. Her communication with me was excellent and she left my home in the same great condition that she found it. I definitely recommend Vivien for you Feline or Canine pet sitting needs and for overnight stays if necessary. I will definitely be calling on Vivian again for her pet care services.

Luna usually isn’t super friendly/interact with other people; however Luna was playing with Shelby. She is also reactive towards other dogs, and she walked her with no incidents. She made sure that Luna ate and took her medications (pill and chew) which she does not like to do when I’m gone. Shelby also sent me pictures and videos of Luna while I was gone. I will 100% be booking with her again if I ever go out of town; it brought me a lot of comfort she was being patient with Luna and got her to have some fun while I was gone! (Luna is a GSD for reference)

This is the first time I've ever needed to hire a pet sitter for my senior cat, so I was very nervous about having a stranger in my home and how my fur baby would react. However, Jennifer eased my mind about the whole process. She was understanding and communicative, which was greatly appreciated. This was just an an overnight trip, but she will be taking care of him again soon when I'll be gone longer. It's such a relief to know I can get some R&R knowing that my pet and my home are in good hands. ?

Our original house sitter (not from Rover) cancelled about a week away from departure. Because of the timing there were no kennel options (we don't do cheap with the babies), and Rover past sitters were all unavailable. Stephen came up with no previous jobs in this area but seemed ok on the site. So with our previous good experiences with Rover we decided to give him a try. He came over for about an hour the day after we picked him to meet the doggies and find out about the house which is large with a lot of automation. By the end of that meeting we were comfortable with his abilities. While we were away, he checked in with us daily, sent pictures and asked good questions on things that I had forgot to mention. The doggies took to him right away and ate well (one gets finnicky if he is worried) while having a good time with him. We always tell house sitters to make themselves at home and have never had a problem with the condition of the house when we returned. Stephen was no exception, he left the house clean, vacuumed, dishes clean and left the bedding as instructed by my wife. One of our dogs is very good at escaping and runs across roads, through yards and can get lost. Stephen apparently had no problems keeping Henry busy but, on a leash, outside of the house as observed on the outdoor Ring cameras during walks. We (including the doggies) look forward to seeing him again. We would highly recommend him for your consideration.

About: Enthusiastic dog and cat lover. Exotic pets welcome! Perfectly capable of handling any cleanup necessary. No experience with "extremely" disabled pets but I'd love to gain some! I don't smoke, I have reliable transportation, and I'm a fervent cruelty free advocate! I have 6 pets of my own, 2 dogs & 4 cats. Milo orange male, George orange male, Cashew orange male, Prim tabby female. Olive black lab, Sabrina chocolate lab. I'm able and eager to care for big & small animals of all breeds. I'd love to work with hamsters, mice, gerbils, rats, etc. I had rats from 2021-2023. I'm not afraid of "bully" breeds, truly I adore them. If you have any questions feel free to message me! I'm unemployed at the moment (8/6/26) so I've endless time for pet play and care! I somewhat frequently have to administer medication to my older pets for various reasons. If your pet needs that I can provide with proper teaching from you, just to make sure I don't make a mistake. I cannot currently care for your pets at my home, not with 6 of my own. However I can play with, exercise with, feed, water, walk, and give lots of love to your fur baby.

About: I am a CMA, and have worked in 4 vets offices over the years. I can give medication (oral, topicals or shots). I have been a groomer for 9ish years (traveling to homes and in grooming shops). I also come packing a huge heart ready to love whatever babies you have. I have cared for them all and really to care for yours!💜 I recently had surgery in March but have been cleared for work. I am a mobile groomer for myself so my schedule is very flexible. Working with vets/in hospitals, I have learned the best way to keep your animals safe and happy is to stay in their own home. Cars and new environments can cause a lot of stress or anxiety. Drop in visits and house sitting keeps your pet in a safe and comfortable place without the exposure to others or their pets.

Meghan was amazing. She took on sitting Smoke very last minute and did not disappoint. Smoke is special needs pit bull and needs special person to care for him in my absence. I did not have to worry about his care while I was out of state! She sent a lot of pics and videos. Meghan exceeded expectations and I will use her again if she is available.

Kattie was incredible! We had a last minute family emergency and she came to help. My dogs have absolutely loved her. I have several special needs dogs with meds needed. She was comfortable and great with administering them. We got daily pictures which helped out our minds at ease. If you need a great person that goes above and beyond for your pups this is your lady. Thanks again Kattie.

Danielle was absolutely wonderful! From the moment she arrived we received updates on our 2 pups. She sent photos and let us know when they had eaten, done their business, gone for walks, etc. She handled our senior dogs medication flawlessly, and their special feeding instructions were carried out perfectly. Both our dogs truly enjoyed their time with her, she was a blessing to our family while we were away. 10/10 would recommend Danielle, and will use her again in the future.

One of my kiddos needs help walking and she followed directions on how to help him when he needed it and stayed on contact with me throughout the visit. She even came back for a lunch time visit just to check on my babies which I really appreciated.

About: I have a true genuine passion for pet sitting. I have always loved and never bored with wanting to care for others pets. I understand that each pet is a part of a family and should be treated as such. I have a few years of experience working in a pet hospital and many references, many including coworkers that understand I would love their pets as if they were my own. I have a full time 8-5 job however, my job is flexible with me taking longer lunch breaks if your pet requires frequent potty breaks and the distance is not far. I will also check on them before and after in addition to overnight if needed. N/A, I don't pet sit at my own place because I rent and they charge extra for that as well as I believe most pets feel comfortable in the safety of their own home.

Valerie was a great sitter while we were out of town, she took great care of our dog and cat and we were able to relax knowing they were in good hands. She took our dog for nice unrushed walks and spent time at the house with them so that they weren't lonely. She was very communicative and made sure we knew how everyone was doing the whole time. We look forward to hiring her again next time we need to go out of town.

FAQs for House Sitting - Rolling Hills

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of September 2026, there are 363 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Rolling Hills. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Rolling Hills walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Rolling Hills maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Rolling Hills choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Rolling Hills. On Rover:

  • 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
