About: I have been taking care of my friends and families animals since I was a child. I currently have a 7 year old male Shiba Inu that I’ve raised from 9 weeks old. He’s very friendly, and potty trained. He gets tons of love all the time, along with our male 5 year old Staffordshire Pitbull Terrier named Skipper. I will be more than happy to take care of and play with your animals/babies. I keep the dogs on a close leash to me when walking. I would prefer a harness if they are not leash trained, to avoid tugging or pulling. I always keep a couple plastic bags handy for picking up poop when needed. I graduated in 2022 with a bachelors degree in Biochemistry from the University of North Florida. I am currently a full time veterinary technician at Avondale Animal Hospital and I am more than happy to help out. I keep my dogs on a daily schedule so I understand the need for routine. Currently just moved to the area and learning my way around, I’d be happy to fit you in. I prefer visits at the client’s home to ensure safety of the pet and to make sure they are not stressed from a new place.

I would love to meet you and help with your pet care needs! I'm currently available part-time, on Monday- Friday from 9:00 am- 1:30 pm. I would be happy to work around your schedule as much as possible! I have a fenced in yard and pets of my own. I understand each pet has their own personality and needs tailored to them. I will be an active listener and always treat and care for your pets according to your wishes!

“We are so glad we found Zaria to watch our two dogs. She stayed at the house and not only took great care of the dogs but also our home. The dogs loved her. We can’t recommend Zaria enough.”

“Riley was great with our pup!! She was very attentive, caring and communicative with us during his stay. He loved the time he had with her, to the point it was hard to get him to leave.”
“Riley was great. My Bentley is young and in the middle of potty training. Riley continued to work with him during his stay and took the necessary time and patience needed. This took a lot of late nights and early mornings. I cant say enough how happy we were with the time he put in with Bentley. He left the house in pristine condition and followed up with a call to summarize the week. Riley is awesome and we will continue to use him in the future when available.”

“Bernadette was fantastic! She saved us from a last minute cancellation from our regular dog sitter and did amazing. She stayed took great care of our big girl and left our house super clean. She kept us updated with text and photos. We will 100% be using Bernadette again in the future.”

About: I've been caring for animals since I was 10 years old and currently have three rescue dogs of my own, ranging from two small dogs to my senior lab mix. Having dogs with different ages, personalities, and needs has given me plenty of firsthand experience providing individualized care and making sure each dog feels comfortable and safe. I have a special place in my heart for rescue dogs and understand that every dog comes with their own personality, routine, and comfort level. I'm patient with dogs who may need a little extra time to warm up, and I'm also comfortable caring for senior dogs and pets who need medication or a little extra attention. Whether your pet stays with me or I'm caring for them in their own home, I do my best to follow their normal routine and treat them just like I would want someone to treat my own dogs. My home also has a fenced yard for plenty of safe outdoor time. Most importantly, I want you to feel comfortable knowing your pet is being well cared for, loved, and treated like part of the family while you're away. I work a rotating 12-hour shift schedule that includes days, nights, weekends, and sometimes holidays, so my availability varies from week to week. I plan my Rover bookings around my schedule to make sure each pet receives the time and attention they need. My boyfriend, Josh, and I also work as a team when caring for pets in our home, and he's usually available to help with feeding, potty breaks, playtime, and companionship while I'm at work. Since I know my work schedule in advance, I'm always happy to discuss your pet's routine and make sure we're a good fit before booking. Whether I'm caring for your pet in my home or yours, I do my best to follow their normal routine and any instructions you provide. In my home, pets are treated like part of the family and have access to a fully fenced yard for safe outdoor time and potty breaks. Josh and I supervise the pets in our care and make sure they have plenty of attention, playtime, and time to relax based on their individual needs. For drop-in visits and walks, I prioritize your pet's safety and comfort while respecting your home. I'll follow your instructions for feeding, medications, walks, and any other care they may need, while making sure your home is secure when I leave. I know how important it is to feel comfortable with the person caring for your pets, so I value clear communication and am always happy to provide updates and photos while you're away. My goal is for both you and your pet to feel comfortable and confident throughout their time in my care.
About: I’ve been animals sitting for around 10 years and I love to be around animals! I have grown up with animals all my life starting from cats, dogs, turtles, lizards, hedgehogs, hamsters, guinea pigs, farm animals, etc.. In my opinion, I’d rather be around animals than a crowd of people. I’d love to get to know your fur babies and explore and train them to your needs. I love making new pet buddies, and I want to ensure I’m making them as happy as can be, as well and you! I am an energetic college student with a flexible schedule and look forward to meeting your pets! Please feel free to contact me to discuss my services. Yours truly, Miyah I currently work full-time and am available most days of the week. My work schedule runs 24 hours on and 48 hours off. Anytime I’m not scheduled at work, I can be scheduled for your service! I currently do not have a fully fenced in yard, however I have a fenced in back yard that allows my animals to roam and have play time!
About: I have had many years of pet sitting my four legged family members, minus the pay; however, I enjoyed it every moment of those amazing opportunities! All my other jobs are very flexible, in other words I am self-employed. Therefore, I am looking for all long term families to work with! We will all have plenty of outdoor space to get great exercise, plus cool indoor space to cool off on those hot, fun days! Also, I would love to take them to any dog parks.

About: As much of a people person I am, I’d consider my self equally as much of a pet person! I love to engage with animals and learn about their personalities and engage with them in whatever environment keeps them happy and healthy! I work full-time, 4 days/week with 1 off day during the week. My evenings and weekends are pretty flexible and I’m willing to work with whatever accommodations that may be required of me. Due to the lack of roaming space in my apartment, I don’t usually host pets in my home plus I have my own pup to tend to! 😌
“I would book Kamryn to watch Diggs a thousand times over! She took extra time and care to make sure he was comfortable with her (he’s scan be pretty anxious with new people). She updated me several times a day about potties and feedings and took her time to hang out and play with him. I felt so comfortable leaving Diggs in her care!! I cannot thank her enough for the extra steps and reassurance she provided me that he was in the best care while I way away!!”

“Emma was so amazing with our babies- she was able to handle giving medications to 2 of our dogs, handled their somewhat complicated feeding schedule, and earned the trust of our nervous boy! We will definitely use her again!!”
“Jessica was amazing! She kept us informed and sent pics! she was so sweet and kind and I know our pupps loved her. The next day when she was gone they went straight to her “room” when they woke up. That made me so happy knowing they were very well loved on. She even made sure the floors and bedding were clean when we came home and left the sweetest pup report cards! I hope she will always take care of our babies🩵”
“My dogs and I both loved having Jill as my babies sitter. I am very weary on who I leave my babies with. I was kept informed everyday about what was going on was sent multiple pictures throughout the day! Jill will definitely be my go to sitter for now on.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 556 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Rock Creek. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Rock Creek walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Rock Creek maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Rock Creek choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Rock Creek. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
