“Justine was very great with doggies. She had great communication and was very punctual. She gave the dogs great attention and took very good care of them. I would recommend her to anyone for services with their loved ones.”

About: I have had dogs and cats my whole life and when I turned 18 I even got my own dog who I love and care for daily!! I would love to care for your adorable animals while you are away and ensure that they are safe, happy, cared for and loved! I am a full-time college student and I work a waitressing job but I do have a pretty flexible schedule especially on the weekends and I can help take care of your animals!! I will follow your rules that you have set for your pets while also ensuring that they are healthy, happy and feel so much love while you are away!!
“Tara did a phenomenal job with my anxious 8 year old pup. She sent me pictures every visit and even made an extra pit stop to let him out one of the days, just because she could. She is wonderful with pets and my boy was in great hands with her! Definitely recommended!”

About: Ever since I can remember there's been a dog in the house. From English Mastiffs to Cava-poos, Boxers to Golden-doodles-I've had my fair share of caring for gentle giants and forever puppies. I currently have a doodle as well as a tabby cat, and yes, I do consider them as my children. I'm comfortable with any breed, and will always ensure they get the best care while you're away! While I do work full-time, I follow teacher hours and am fortunately out by about 3 PM. This will give me the afternoons/evenings free for play and dinner time. For the pups, I'll be able to bring them for a walk, to play fetch, cuddle up on the couch, etc. In your home, I will abide by your guidelines to a T-whether that involves a strict eating/bathroom-ing schedule, administering medications, exercise routines, crate-training, etc. I am a very clean person and do not mind washing bowls or vacuuming some fur whenever necessary.
“Kami was very accommodating with my last minute request for a drop-in visit the next day. She arrived promptly and sent an adorable picture of my little ones who looked very content with their new friend. I will reach out to Kami again for future needs.”

“I could tell on Wyatt's meet and greet that Andrea was a compassionate animal care giver. Wyatt took to her immediate and by the end of the visit they were fast friends. I was able to go away with my mind at ease that Wyatt will be well cared for. Andrea sent updates and pictures with every visit letting me know he was okay. I now look forward to getting away more because I know my skittish rescue dog is in good hands. I can't recommend her enough. Thank you Andrea.”

“We appreciated Kellie for her quick response and willingness to care for our pups, especially on such short notice. Based on the pictures she provided to us, they all had a great visit.”

About: I’ve cared for cats and volunteered in cat rescue for over 20 years. I have always been the person friends, family, and neighbors trust with their pets. I currently volunteer in animal rescue, where I care for and foster kittens, senior cats, and cats with medical needs, including administering medications and monitoring their health. As a licensed Community Health Worker with over 20 years in healthcare, I bring patience, attention to detail, and reliability to every visit. I know every pet is unique, so I take the time to learn their routines, provide enrichment and affection, and keep owners updated with photos and detailed visit reports. My goal is for you to have complete peace of mind while you’re away. Pet care is currently one of my main priorities, which allows me to offer a flexible schedule and provide pets with the time and attention they deserve. I’m available for morning, afternoon, and evening visits, as well as weekends and many holidays. Whether your pet needs a quick potty break, medication, playtime, or companionship, I strive to keep their routine as consistent and stress-free as possible. I communicate promptly and provide updates and photos after every visit so you always know how your pet is doing. Caring for animals is more than just a job to me—it’s something I’m truly passionate about. I have over 20 years of experience in healthcare, am a licensed Massachusetts Community Health Worker, and volunteer and foster with the MSPCA of Cape Cod and It’s All About the Animals, Rochester where I regularly care for and foster cats of all ages, including those requiring medications and special medical care. I understand how important it is to earn your trust, so I carefully follow every instruction regarding feeding, medications, walks, litter boxes, and household routines. I treat every pet as if they were my own, ensure doors and gates remain secure, and always provide detailed updates with photos so you can feel confident your pet is happy, safe, and well cared for.
“So happy having Quinn take care of my pups. I will definitely recommend Quinn and I would love to use her in the future for different plans I have coming up. Thank you to Quinn for the great care!”

“We have a very difficult older cat who needs daily medication. We had already been through two cat sitters who were not able to administer her meds, after the first time, so we were concerned fo try again. Jared had great instincts with how to deal with the situation. He took the time to let the cat get to know him first. He was reliable and had good communication. We would definitely use him again.”

About: Had a 5 month old pup at aged 9 (also had a dominant cat) taught her basics and more over time until she needed medication due to her old age. Looked after friends senior dog which needed meds with food and their other dog that had special dietary needs including medication 3 times a day. House and dog&cat sat for friends that would go away to France for a long weekends I have plenty of time to give care and attention. I am not working at the moment and in between job maybe this is my calling we have a lot of space in the home and in the yard. We do not have any of our own pets yet, but we are talking a lot about them. We have a large 4ft fenced in grass yard and a large basement to allow for off leash freedom to play regardless of weather. Over the back fence we have active cranberry bogs with loads of open space and smells perfect for long walks. I am a fast walker and happy to cover 3-5 miles on a walk. Any fur-babies that need to stay overnight will be looked after like they are my own. I’ll send lots of pictures and make sure your pet is comfortable with as much attention as it needs.
About: I’ve had pets my whole life and love all animals. I grew up with dogs and have had cats since moving into my own apartment. I love spending time with animals, walking and playing with them and would be so excited to care for your pets. I work in a restaurant so I have a flexible schedule and work non-traditional hours which makes it easier for me to visit animals during the weekdays when others may be busier with work. I also don’t mind last minute requests for walks or drop in visits for feedings! Although I cannot board animals at my apartment, I am open to caring for pets in their homes, making sure that they are safe and comfortable, feeding them, walking them, playing with them, and giving them lots of pats and love!
About: Hi! I’m Phylicia. I’ve been around animals my whole life—dogs, cats, reptiles, you name it—so taking care of them has always been second nature to me. I also have pets of my own, so I totally understand how important they are to your family. As a teacher, I have a consistent schedule that allows me to be available in the afternoons, evenings, weekends, holidays, and during school vacations. I’m flexible, reliable, and easy to communicate with—qualities that pet parents really value in a sitter. When I’m caring for pets, I treat them like part of the family. I pay close attention to their needs and can quickly recognize if something seems off. Whether it’s sticking to a specific feeding routine, giving meds, or just making sure your pet feels safe and loved, I’m all in.
“Danielle was great! She came by for a meet and greet beforehand and met my cat Reggie. She was punctual and thorough. She took pictures so I'd know my little fella was alright. I will certainly hire her again in the future!”

About: My life has included dogs for as long I can remember and I have always seemed to read them intuitively, including “problem dogs” that others have difficulty interacting with. I have extensive personal dog handling and grooming experience over the past 25 years and have owned up to 6 dogs at a time. I currently have a 10 year old Chihuahua-mix named Kitty but I have experience training and caring for Border Collies, American Pit Bull Terriers, Staffordshire Terriers, Irish Terriers, Wire Fox Terriers, Poodle mixes, Great Danes, and a Wolf-German Shepherd hybrid. I am knowledgeable about canine body language and how to remain calm around anxious/fearful/aggressive dogs as well as how to redirect dogs from potential conflicts. I own and operate an event-services business which runs primarily on the weekends, allowing me to offer dog care Monday through Friday and on certain weekends as available. I am able to care for dogs according to their owner’s needs and requests. This may include administering medication, changing diapers, feeding, walking or just spending time with.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Rochester. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
