“Mya was able to accommodate my last minute day care request with no issue. She took great care of Chewie and sent me photos throughout the day. Definitely recommend booking with her :)”

“Sarah was really great. We had a meet and greet. My puppy immediately liked her and her dogs. My pup stayed with her overnight and had a really great time. He received plenty of attention and playtime. I would absolutely use Sarah again and highly recommend her.”

About: 20 years of hands-on experience caring for dogs and 15 years caring for cats in both personal and family settings. Skilled in daily walks, exercise routines, feeding schedules, administering basic care, playtime, companionship, and providing a safe, loving environment for pets of all sizes and temperaments. Experienced with energetic puppies, senior pets, multi-pet households, and understanding animal behavior and comfort needs. Dedicated to reliable, compassionate, full-service pet care with a true lifelong passion for animals. Pet care is already part of my everyday life. I plan my schedule around feeding times, walks, playtime, medication needs, and making sure every pet gets personal attention, comfort, and consistency throughout the day. I care for every pet like they are my own by keeping a clean, calm, and safe environment. In clients’ homes, I follow all instructions carefully, maintain routines, secure doors and gates, and make sure pets feel comfortable, loved, and stress-free while their owners are away.
About: I have been grooming and pet sitting for 16 years. I own and operate my own dog grooming salon (Motown Mutts) . I regularly pull and foster from local shelters and have experience with frightened, nervous and special needs dogs. I have a ton of references and have quickly earned a reputation for providing excellent care in my area. My children were raised doing this and dogs that don’t normally love kids love mine because they speak the language. The dogs are very rarely left alone. My daughter is an LVT and handy for emergencies when I call. I can also groom them with advanced notice during their stay. We love our pet sitters like our own and become very attached to them. My babies usually run to my door and can’t wait to get inside. I am certified in emergency canine CPR and therapeutic massage therapy. The dogs will go to work with me daily unless I find the daycare experience stressful to them (older or nervous pups). I also have employees at my salon so they are available in emergencies The pups will be my pet while with me, we wake up at 4 am, have our meals and then head to the salon for the day to play. I don’t do a lot of playtime outside in the summer during the hottest times but we exercise in the evenings when it’s cooler. If there is an emergency I have staff willing to help out. I prefer no Sunday pick ups or drop offs because that’s family day
“Monica is the best! Very prompt and courteous in replying to messages, and very personable overall. Our dogs had a blast with her, even our grumpy Frenchie! She is very experienced and adept at handling multiple dogs at once, and has systems for separating pups if needed. We will definitely be booking with Monica again for our doggy needs.”
About: I’ve been around dogs my entire life, so I’m comfortable caring for them through every stage from energetic puppies to senior dogs who need a slower, more attentive approach. I’m patient with puppy routines and understand the consistency they need, and I’m equally mindful of the extra care, gentleness, and awareness senior dogs require. I genuinely enjoy being active, so long walks, playtime, and making sure dogs get the exercise they need is something I prioritize. At the same time, I’m very in tune with each dog’s personality whether they’re high energy or more of a couch companion and I adjust my care to fit what makes them happiest and most comfortable. Pet care fits very naturally into my routine. I’m currently in school and working part-time, which allows me to be home the majority of the week and flexible with scheduling walks, feedings, and playtime. During the week we are available, and depending on the weekend, we are often available then as well. My husband works locally and can come home as needed, so there is consistent care and attention for the dogs throughout the day. Because of this, I’m able to provide a stable, attentive environment where pets aren’t left alone for long periods and can stick to their normal routines. I tailor my care to each pet’s routine and comfort level, whether in my home or a client’s home. At my home, we have a fenced yard that allows for safe outdoor play and exercise, along with plenty of supervised time inside for rest and attention. I follow feeding schedules closely, keep water fresh, and make sure each dog gets the right balance of activity and downtime. I’m comfortable with crate routines if that’s what your dog is used to our own dog loves her crate but I also welcome dogs who prefer their own bed and a more relaxed setup. In a client’s home, I aim to keep everything as consistent as possible with their normal routine, including walks, feeding, playtime, and any specific instructions to help them feel comfortable and secure.
“Layla is the best! She is always so easy to communicate with and so friendly. She takes good care of Bubs and keeps me updated during his stay. He loves playing with Teddy and visiting Layla. He comes home happy! I would definitely recommend her!”

“Carolyn was wonderful and had excellent communication. She also took beautiful pictures of my boy!! He can be nervous around new people, but he was instantly comfortable with Carolyn!”

About: I have been around dogs my whole life. I grew up with multiple dogs, one of which I took care of myself once I was older. I had dog sat for friends and even teachers before. I have volunteered at dog shelters to walk and take care of dogs. I love all dogs and dogs love me. I am currently unemployed, searching for a job. I live in an apartment and am able to board a dog at any time of the week. I have room to play with them and for them to rest. My building has dog-walking areas and, in general, is located in a walkable area for dogs.
About: I got my very own dog when I was 10 years old. Domino was a dalmatian and really just set the ball rolling for my love of all dogs! I have had at least one dog since, the most at one time was 4! We had Chihuahua named Pancho, Boxer named Pepper, Pit bull named Petey and a foster Mix named Ziggy! I would adopt all the dogs if I had enough space. I have dog sat for friends and thought this would be a great way to keep Hobbs social while still being an only child :) I currently work remotely and am available for 24/7 care in my home. I have one kennel but space for you to bring your own if your baby is more comfortable there. However, this is a dog friendly home so pups are of course allowed on furniture and to sleep in bed. I have a fenced yard and a very friendly boxer mix that LOVES all other dogs and thinks everyone is a friend! We go on short walks in the morning and evening while it's not so hot! During the day I always accompany potty breaks and encourage play time. We have plenty of toys, balls and bones that Hobbs loves to share.

About: I have had dogs since I was little. I currently have 2 cats, a barded dragon and an elderly yorkie. They are my children and my babies. I am open any time! I have doctors appointments to attend , but I can be flexible with your schedule! Just communicate your needs with me. I have 4 pets in my home, so I will need to care for your pets in your home as to avoid any disagreements between pets.
“My pup had a great time at Amye's house! She has a nice fenced yard and a very playful host dog. Amye is flexible and drop off and pickup and there is always someone at the house to give my girl some attention. My pup was twitching and running in her sleep when she got home so that's a sign of a good day”

“Molly and Trey took great care of Gambit for us! He came home happy, and we got a super cute pic of him hanging out with their sweet dog. They were very easy to communicate with and made me feel very comfortable. I would definitely have them watch Gambit for us again!”

About: I have always owned pets and have a special place for all animals especially dogs. I have always rescued, but I’m ready to start getting to know more dogs and give them the attention they need! I’m currently working part time and have plenty of time to take care of dogs and give them the love they deserve! And taking the time to walk and play with them. I enjoy walking and exploring, and I love to see dogs reach their full potential and give them the exercise they want and need :)
“Ernest has been a Godsend. He is patient with my senior and very anxious GSD. He has been extremely accommodating with my schedule and pays attention to the weather conditions and how they could impact our pets. He provides pool time for outside play and keeps them indoors during peak heat.”

“Im so grateful for Geneva! I was in a bind last minute and I reached out to her. She responded so quickly to my request and watched my Ralphie for a whole day! She has a very cute home with a great backyard for him to play in. Ralphie was in great spirits when I picked him up and slept so soundly when we came home. I kniw he had such a great day with her! Thank you Geneva 😊 I've got her booked for next weekend already and I know Ralphie is excited too. Thank you for taking care of my boy 😌 I know he's in good hands with her ❤️”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - River Oaks
Mya did such an amazing job as always with my Mina! We usually have a daycare during the workweek that Mina goes too but they were closed for the holiday. I had to be at work in 30 minutes & reached out to Mya. Mya was an hour and 30 minutes away from my home and without question drove over to go pick her up from my house. Her dedication to taking care of animals is unmatched & we’re so happy to have her as our sitter🩷

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
