“Harry is absolutely amazing with my dogs and I cannot book him enough. My pets are happy and calm and I am super calm being able to leave him with my fur family and my home. He is overly communicative and flexible.”

“Ellen Jean really calmed my anxious pups! The house was well cared for and my mind was at ease. She was very responsive when I had questions and kept my boys on their routine.”

“Karci did a great job! I loved her attention to detail in asking and carrying out what our dog's routine and needs were. This helped maintain her days with consistently. Highly recommend her service.”
“Thank you again Nicky, we appreciate you. This was our second time having Nicky dog and house sit, she is very responsible and attentive, Chico's best friend while we are gone :) I highly recommend Nicky and will definitely request her for our next vacation.”

“Shanley really went above and beyond while watching our two dogs! She stayed at our home and treated our dogs so well. With a 4 month puppy and an elder dog on medication three times a day, there was a lot to keep track of, yet Shanley made sure they were taken care of every day. She even provided message updates and some videos throughout our trip! All of our anxiety washed away knowing our pups were being cared for by Shanley. I will definitely be reaching out for future trips. Oh, and, our house was left spotless. Everything cleaned, more than we could have ever asked!”

About: My own pup crossed the rainbow bridge not long ago, so I’m looking to pass on the love to any and all pups! She lived to 13 years old so senior dogs have a special place in my heart, but I also raised her from a puppy so I’m comfortable with all ages. I’m a stay-at-home wife with no children and no pets currently. My husband is in the Air Force so I’m looking to find ways to spend my time during the days. My schedule is fairly open! I have a fenced backyard with a good amount of space and live in a nice quiet neighborhood. I am willing to make as many accommodations as needed, and am really open to whatever is needed. I prefer to only host one household at a time, but will occasionally be open to overlapping bookings if only by a day or two, and all parties are comfortable with it. Please don’t be afraid to let me know your preferences as well.

“Allyson did a great job with 2 dogs and cat :) my smaller dog is particular about who he likes and he warmed up to her right away. She also did a great job with my older girl who takes a few medications and has some incontinence. Thanks, Allyson!”

About: Hi everyone! I love all animals! Your pet and I will definitely have a great time together! I am trying to become a veterinarian in the future and this is a great start for me! I have a park that is a 5 minute walk from my house and I have a huge yard for any pet that likes outside activities. I can care for disabled pets and older pets as well. I have always wanted to live in a farm because of all the animals but this is close enough for me haha! I have a dog of my own and he will love the extra company and play time. Be certain that I will care for your pet like it is my own! Thank you for reading!
“Sabrina was such a love! She and our dog bonded from the start at our meet and greet. She said as fantastic at responding to my messages while we were away for 5 days. She went over the top with offering to come and go between our two houses so our dog would feel secure. The house was left immaculate and our dog was so happy when we got home and almost seemed to say “I missed you, but I had fun!”. Sabrina’s children loved our guy which was an added bonus. I will be hiring Sabrina again for sure!”
“Jaquan did an amazing job with our two frenchies and left the home cleaner than when we left, with two happy puppies. We will definitely reach out to him again for our needs.”

About: I have had the pleasure of taking care of and being around pets my entire life! Since I was a child, I’ve cared for dogs, cats, birds, and fishes as well as other large animals! Over the years many friends, family members and neighbors have relied on me to care for their pets. I have over 6 years of experience with all dog breeds. I currently have a two-year-old Yellow Lab who is the sweetest pup I have ever had. She is extremely friendly and loving and is great with other dogs and cats. I currently have a pretty open schedule with my online classes, so I am home most of the time, dogs have access to the backyard at almost all times and are always being watched and monitored for safety. Dogs are taken on walks to nearby parks and around the neighborhood and rides around to the dog park. dogs are fed separately and are fed on a schedule and always have access to lots of fresh water. I have a fenced yard and a pool in the back yard. I am able to crate your dog if needed or per your preference. My lab is always ready to play or nap with your pup and will always keep them company!
“Our pets, Cali, Keira & Lobo, are so lucky to have Dominic and Mariam take care of them when we travel. We receive lots of updates with pics and videos, that show how well they are doing. It’s peace of mind knowing they are loved and well cared for while we’re away. We are repeat clients and recommend them highly.”
“Kristin was absolutely amazing with our Bailey girl while we were off getting married for the night. She was super patient with her since she is nervous around new people and Kristin knew exactly how to approach the situation. We can’t thank her enough, highly recommend Kristin!!”

About: Some people innately connect with animals. Maybe this cannot be taught or learned. Even those animals who "don't like anyone" like me. It's a gift. Perhaps they can tell I'm a gentle giant and it makes them feel safe and protected. Whether cat or dog or some other creatures, I will lavish affection and attention on them (if they're into that). Or simply let them call the shots until they're ready to warm up a bit more. As a large, fit dude, I can manage even the strongest dogs, but I'm nimble and delicate with the smaller ones and cats. It comes naturally, and your pets will sense it. Summertime affords more flexibility for me as a teacher. I do have another PT gig currently on Tuesdays & Thursdays in the afternoons. But I'm mostly available the other 5 days for now, and am willing to spend time with your pets before and after shifts on days I work. For many years, I've cared for dozens of friends' pets. Long before Rover existed, I was a resident car provider in my community. Everyone knows I am reliable, professional, responsive, and flexible. Clean, sober, non-smoker.
“Monica took great care of my aging, somewhat needy pittie and her sister kitty, and kept me informed with messages and photos. Great communication! My house was left clean and linens washed. My deck plants were also well taken care of. Hope for a repeat someday.”

About: I have been an animal lover my whole life, from fostering puppies and kittens from the animal shelter to raising many dogs and cats! My family raised me to be an animal lover as we care for animals in such a different way. I have done overnight sittings, walkings, and day care visits for many friends and family and decided to join here to expand my abilities! I love getting to know all different kinds of animals and being able to provide them the love and care they need while their owners are away. I am currently going to start sonography school and I am not able to work a full-time job as a result I would love to watch your babies.I usually like to go for walks so it would be easy to fit any animal in my schedule as well! I have a big teddy bear of a dog that is the most spoiled rescue dog ever! If i am staying at the owners house I let them feel comfortable sleeping with me and I always clean up after myself if at someone else’s house and make sure to always keep the house tidy!
“Kiet was amazing. He was easy to get in contact with and was available last minute for us. He went above and beyond to take care of my pups and I got to come home to a cleaner house than I left. I will definitely rehire him.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of September 2026, there are 2,323 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Rio Vista Junction. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Rio Vista Junction walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Rio Vista Junction maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Rio Vista Junction choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
