“I left my dog for 2-1/2 weeks with Anna. She was amazing. Romeo was extremely calm when he came home from his stay. Anna provides a very safe and nurturing home away from home. She was very caring, responsible, and communicative. I highly recommend her to watch your pet. I will be using her services in the future.”

About: My pup Mera is a 30lb schnauzer mix. I also have a 15 lb cat. We hang out in the yard, walk around sometimes and explore some places on the weekends. Other times we just cuddle and watch movies. We love couch and lap time. We are super chill and my babyis not aggressive at all. She loves to cuddle a s play with any pup they will allow it. I have kept about pups from my old neighborhood regularly and we always love the company. I work 5 mins from home and I come spend time with Mera every day at lunch My pets are not alone more that 4 hours at a time. I have an enclosed patio and lots of comfy places to hang out in the house. We are totally a pet place and love to spend time snuggling
“Lulu’s recent stay with Meghan, was just as wonderful as her first stay, albeit shorter. Lulu adores Meghan and her husband and being with her newest friend Honey - Meghan’s Cavalier. She was cared for lovingly and responsibly. I recommend her 100% !!!!”

“Cely and Joshua were so warm and accommodating! I received so many videos and photos that made me miss Mikey less. They took such good care of him, he played with their dogs and Cely even washed Mikey's favorite blanket. Couldn't recommend them more!”

I will use Sharon again and don’t you sleep on this Jewel for the animals.”

“Absolutely recommend Mozelle!! She was sweet when we first met and she updated us with pictures and videos of our pup having fun. When we brought him home he was happy to see the kids…but if he could talk, we felt he was trying to tell us how much fun he had and how well he was taken care of. Thank you Mozelle. It’s hard nowadays to trust in a complete stranger to care for a member of our family, but you totally treated our pup like family. And that means so much to us. ✌🏼 🐶”

“Edwin & Jannina did an amazing job with our puppy. We got constant updates on the fun he was having and they treated him like he was one of their own! Thank you for taking care of our boy!”

About: I was blessed to have my beloved dog for 18 wonderful years, and five years ago, Maya came into my life. Dogs have always held a special place in my heart, and Maya brings so much love, joy, and companionship to my life every day. 🐾💕 I genuinely enjoy making time for pet care in my daily and weekly routine. I love being around animals and getting to know their unique personalities, so caring for pets feels less like a job and more like something I truly look forward to. I’m happy to build my schedule around their needs, whether that means morning or evening walks, playtime, feeding, companionship, or simply giving them some extra love and attention while their family is away. When caring for a pet, my goal is for them to feel safe, comfortable, loved, and right at home. I take the time to learn their routine, personality, favorite activities, and little quirks so I can care for them in a way that feels familiar and reassuring. In a client’s home, I’m respectful of their space and attentive to every detail, from keeping their routine consistent to making sure they receive plenty of playtime, affection, exercise, and companionship. I also believe communication is important, so I’m happy to keep pet parents updated with messages and photos, giving you peace of mind while you’re away.
“Before we left my wife was having separation anxiety from leaving her fur babies. William and his wife made sure they gave updates and photos as often as possible to help ease her mind. They are true animal lovers! I know our pets were well taken care of and will be using their services again in the future.”

“What a lovely and caring family! This was my first time using Elizabeth, but it will not be my last. They were so accommodating and welcoming to both me and my dog Cooper. I could leave town knowing Cooper was being loved and well cared for. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Elizabeth. Cooper was a happy boy when I picked him up. I will definitely use her again!”

“Chloe took excellent care of our dog, Ira! She kept us well-informed with daily updates on how she was doing and how her day was. Chloe was responsive to any questions we had and flexible when we asked to adjust pickup time. Ira seemed content and calm when we picked her up, so we could tell she had been in good hands. Will definitely be using Chloe again for our dogsitting needs! Thank you, Chloe!”

“Heidi went above and beyond for Bella during her stay for a week at Heidi’s home. Walks, ball chasing, park adventures, and even a bath. She sent lots of photos and videos so that helped a lot while we were away.”

“Kelsey did an amazing job looking after Nala. Nala is a rescue dog and we had only had her for 3 weeks prior. We were looking for a loving home that accepted 1 dog only as we were a little concerned how she would react after leaving the animal shelter not long before. We met for a meet and greet first and straight away we sensed that Kelsey was a very loving pet sittter and this put us at ease. She sent us pictures and comments throughout Nala’s stay and was very responsive to any contact we made with her. Nala came home a very happy dog!?. We shall certainly request Kelsey in the future!”

Deborah and her husband are truly lovely people. Their cozy home is in a nice small gated neighborhood that’s ideal for dog walks. Deborah communicates wonderfully and always sends the sweetest photos. It warms my heart every time Bandit lights up with excitement the moment he sees her! Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Rio home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Rio.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Rio sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in FL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
