“Ysobel has been a very attentive and communicative sitter for my dog. My pup has been struggling with medical issues and as a result isn't the easiest to care for but Ysobel has been great :).”

“She was wonderful with our cats! We have a shy kitten and even she was able to pet and get her to come out with we were gone! She made us feel comfortable about leaving our cats and we would definitely rebook her again!”

About: Grew up on a farm. Have always had dogs and cats in my life (and a few other critters too;) Happy to care for yours while you’re away. I am retired but would rather be semi retired. I’m looking for enjoyment and I love being around and caring for animals. I’m available weekdays. Weekends on advanced notice. I care for eight hens, one small yorki-poo and a tuxedo kitten that took up residence in the chicken coop everyday and I can care for your animals while you’re away.
About: I have always loved animals since I was a kid. I’ve been walking, caring for, and sitting for over 10 years for dogs and cats, hamsters, and other animals for family, friends, and clients. I have worked with single animal homes and multi animal homes. Some of my favorite activities with pets are walks and playtime outside. I have had multiple pets of my own both dogs and cats. I can’t wait to get to know your fabulous furry friend. 😊 I currently work for a school district and will have time this summer and throughout the school year to take care of your furry friends. I will take your bestie on wonderful long or short walks depends if on their medical needs and give them loads of attention and play time. I have some experience with animals that need extra medical care and senior dogs as well as that sweet puppy energy.
“Sarah is friendly and professional. I appreciate her quick communication as well. She did daily drop-ins for our shy cat. Since he didn't want to come out of hiding, she sent me pics of his food bowl each day instead. It was comforting to know she was there to make sure our kitty had his needs met. I would definitely ask Sarah to watch our cat in the future.”

About: Back when I was a kid, my family owned a cattery that I helped take care of. We owned 32 cats and 1 dog at one time. Growing up, I learned how to truly take care of animals, helping deliver kittens during birth, bottle feeding, and training them to be tolerant, friendly, handleable, and able to take walks on a harness and leash. I've had many different pets since then, including a snake, fish, and cats of my own. I've always loved animals of all kinds and I've had a unique kinship with almost every animal I meet. I commonly hear "They're usually not this friendly" around new pets I meet, and at parties and other events, I'm usually found petting the dog on the floor somewhere. Since then, I've been helping my friend with their dog sitting business and decided to venture forth on my own. I look forward to meeting you and your pets! I am currently in between positions, so I have complete and open availability to help take care of your pets. If you have a special needs pet, I can work with you to provide more intensive care. I want to learn more about how you treat your pets so I can provide the same loving environment that they are used to. I'd love to be your pet-parent substitute.

“This was our first experience with Rover and Mikayla made it quite easy by being communicative, reliable and genuinely caring throughout. She was on time for her visits and I loved receiving regular updates and photos of my cats while I was away. Our cats were happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for when we returned. One of our cats is super shy and he rarely comes out in front of strangers however, he got comfortable with Mikayla on her second visit. We definitely recommend her!”

“Cassidy has been our dog walker for around 9 months and she has been absolutely amazing! My husband and I both work full-time but we needed extra exercise for our new dog, so knowing we had Cassidy checking in on our dogs and walking our hyper youngest was a weight off our shoulders. We were so sad to learn Cassidy was moving, but are so grateful for the time our dogs had with her.”

“Tami is awesome! She comes to visit my puppy, Dumpling, a few times a week while my husband and I are at work, and it is so great to know that Dumpling is getting a break from the monotony of the day to have some playtime and love. Tami was even nice enough to give me a bunch of puppy supplies (bed, toys, blankets, etc) that her dog recently grew out of, wow!!”
“Barbara was amazing!! She took such good care of my two cats while we were away. One of our cats is very friendly and she let him on her lap and I’m sure gave him pets which we appreciated a lot. We would totally book with her again :)”

“Jessica was absolutely fabulous! She took such good care of our old (sometimes grumpy) dog Bruno. She made friends with him, becoming his best buddy by the time we returned. She took care of so many 'extras' for us as well, like sweeping up when the wind blew dust/leaves inside and taking Bruno's coat home and washing it when it got dirty. I'd book her again in an instant. If you want someone truly loving and caring and thoughtful to care for your dog...book Jessica!”

“Lacy is a stellar sitter! She went above and beyond and took wonderful care of my boys. She even left the cutest report card for my kitties. Absolutely love her! Will be booking with her again.”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Richland
We were happy to know Amanda was willing to deal with our two kitties knowing they needed to be kept separate after somewhat recently introducing them to each other. We felt so much more comfortable knowing they would be checked on and given some attention while we were away. They seemed happy on our return aside from the normal cat behavior of being offended that you left them at all.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
