“We have hired Elizabeth several times of the last year plus. She's utterly amazing, caring and reliable. Which are all great traits when looking for someone to take care of your baby while you're away. Elizabeth is most definitely the person to contact. Our dog absolutely adores her, he can't wait to see her. I love the fact she sends pictures each visit while she's caring for our baby. In every picture she sends, you can see how happy he is with her here! Thank you Elizabeth so very much for making our time away from our baby relaxing and enjoyable. It's your caring quality for our animal we appreciate most. Thank you, The Brice's”

“She was great! She did an amazing job taking care of our girls, and was so good at communicating and keeping us updated! She went above and beyond, I’m so glad we found her! Thank you!!”

About: Hi! I am an avid animal lover that has volunteered at multiple shelters and worked at a doggy daycare. I also have my own pup that I absolutely adore! I currently work full time at a remote position, but am able to offer services outside of my own working hours whenever they are needed! I am happy to work with timid of scared dogs as my own dog is fearful and takes a while to warm up. I practice patience and will treat your dog as my own.
“Lindsay took such good care of our two boys while I was away, taking extra care with our more timid dog and coming to meet him ahead of time. Her experience with dogs shows! Happy to have her watch our dogs anytime and really appreciate her patience.”

“I was not sure about leaving my dog with a stranger especially since it was short notice and Melanie did know Ace my golden retriever. It turned out to be a good experience. Melanie arranged a visit for a meet and it was obvious that she could handle Ace even though his 80 pounds was very excited when they met. No issues. I would recommend Melanie”

About: I have been around animals for as long as I can remember, beginning with cats in early childhood. At the age of seven, I got my first dog, which further strengthened my passion for animal care. I later worked at a kennel, where I received hands-on experience and training in many aspects of pet care, including recognizing behavioral cues to better understand animals’ emotions and needs. During my time there, I learned how to administer medications and injections, including insulin for diabetic animals and supplements for those requiring daily care. I also gained experience working with handicapped dogs, including tripod and wheelchair-assisted dogs, as well as animals of various ages. In addition to my professional experience, I personally cared for my own senior dog, which provided me with extensive knowledge and understanding of senior pet care I am currently unemployed, so I am able to take anytime of the day for the next possible two weeks or so. Once I find a job, I will have more strict, set hours that line up with my new job. I have kennel experience which has provided me the training needed to take care of people's fur children while they are away. I also have experience with reactive dogs, as I worked with several of them while working at the kennel, and grew up with one of my own.
About: I have been taking care of friends and family pets as well as my own for over 10 years. I also have basic veterinary care experience from working at vet offices/boarding kennels and can give medications upon request. I am currently working 10 hour days at a veterinary hospital in Reading Monday and Wed-Fri and in college part-time, but i have plenty of time to take care of your furry friends. Please allow a 1 hour travel window for me to arrive after I get off work. I have a fenced in yard for our animals and all have been leash, e-collar, recall, and crate trained and I can follow any specific requests to the best of my availability.
About: I have been helping care for our dogs my entire life but I’m really only counting since I was 10. I’m not sure if I would count earlier as helping lol. I would dog sit for family, friends, and coworkers too. I always make sure they are happy and feed. Along with making sure all their energy is out too. I will follow all food instructions that they have. I have given dogs pills before if they require them. I have limited experience with both elderly dogs and puppies, however I am willing to learn what they will need from me. I do work full time but I have an hour lunch where I can run back to let them out. I work from 8-4 so if they don’t need to be let out during the day I will let them out immediately once I get back. I do not do much on the weekends so weekends will be spent with furry friends. I will care for your pet in your home and make it as close as to their routine as possible. I have walked dogs on a leash and have good control. If they do not eat human food they will not be given human food. I always stick to the portions that I am told when feeding them too. If I have a concern about one of the furry friends I will contact you immediately to see what you would like me to do.
About: I’ve been taking care of cats, dogs, lizards, and even fish for neighbors, family, friends, and acquaintances for over 15 years! I’m excited to offer my services to even more families in my community to lend a hand and rub some bellies! I currently make my own schedule with my work kiddos that I service, allowing lots of time to pop in and check on your pets throughout the day! I’m also flexible to visit early mornings, late evenings, or even spend the night. I always go the extra mile to give your pets love and attention while you’re away! Whether that’s extra long walks, cuddles for hours in the evenings, or playing outside till the sun goes down, I want your pet to feel safe while their favorite human is away.

About: Hi! My name is Jennifer, and I am a local high school teacher enjoying summer break and looking to spend my extra time caring for animals. Animals have always been a huge part of my life. I currently care for three dogs, two cats, a rabbit, and a blue tongue skink, and I have experience with many other types of pets as well. My dogs actively compete in agility, scent work, Fast CAT, and dock diving, so I am comfortable working with dogs of different sizes, breeds, and energy levels. I understand that every pet has unique needs and routines. Whether your pet needs a walk, feeding, medication, playtime, or simply some extra attention while you're away, I will care for them as if they were my own. As a teacher, I am dependable, organized, and responsible. I know how important it is to have peace of mind when leaving your pets in someone else's care, and I will provide updates and photos so you can relax knowing your pets are happy and safe. I have experience with: Dogs Cats Rabbits Reptiles Small animals Senior pets High-energy dogs Multi-pet households I look forward to meeting you and your pets! Pet care is already a big part of my daily routine. I currently care for three dogs, two cats, a rabbit, a snake, and a blue tongue skink, so feeding, exercise, cleaning, and spending quality time with animals are part of every day. During the summer, I have a very flexible schedule as a teacher on break, which allows me to provide visits throughout the day, walks, feeding, playtime, and overnight care. During the school year, I continue offering pet care services, but I am unavailable during the school day while teaching. However, I am available before and after school, evenings, weekends, holidays, and for overnight stays. I enjoy staying active with my own dogs through activities like agility, scent work, Fast CAT, and dock diving, so caring for pets fits naturally into my lifestyle. I understand how important routines are for animals and will work to keep your pet's schedule as consistent as possible while you're away. I believe pets are happiest when they can stay on their normal routine. When caring for pets in a client's home, I follow all instructions carefully regarding feeding schedules, walks, medications, exercise, and household routines. I take time to get to know each pet's personality and comfort level so they feel safe and relaxed while their family is away. Safety is always a priority. I make sure doors, gates, and crates are secure, keep pets on leash during walks unless otherwise instructed in a safe enclosed area, and closely monitor their behavior and well-being. I am comfortable caring for multiple pets and have experience with dogs, cats, rabbits, reptiles, and other small animals. I also know how important communication is for pet owners. I provide regular updates and photos so you can have peace of mind knowing your pets are being well cared for while you're away. As a pet owner myself, I treat every animal as if they were my own and strive to provide dependable, loving care that keeps them happy, comfortable, and safe.

“Simone was outstanding in dropping in and caring for my dog at home. She was supper attentive and supportive to his needs, and took the time to let him warm up to her. Would absolutely recommend Simone and will definitely be using her again!”

About: Had pets my whole life. I walk all the time and know where to take them and have an SUV with enough room to fit them in. Have 2 children who adore all animals. I have a full time job, Tuesday through Saturday, but I’m usually home around 2-4 pm. I’m available every evening and can stop to let them out during the day because of my job flexibility. I love both ends of the spectrum. I love being active and taking dogs for walk/runs. I also love relaxing and cuddling with them and getting to know what their preferences. Will follow all strict diet rules and keep a very clean house to avoid unwanted eating restrictions.
“Dane and Kayla were wonderful taking care of both, our dog and our cat. I liked that they own as well a dog and a cat, making them more understanding of their needs. They kept me ip to date daily with several pictures and I could see my pets were happy. I had to prolong my trip for unexpected health reasons and D&K were the nicest. They extended the contract and even helped me by buying more food for both animals when it ran out, until I returned to pay them back. I felt they really cared for the well-being of our pets , not just to fulfill an obligation. I would hire them again if needed and feel happy to recommend them to anyone searching for good care for their pets.”

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Richland. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
