“Elyea will have your pets saying "hell yeah!" We have a people reactive American Bully mix who comes from a background of trauma. She takes a very long time to adjust to new humans and makes boarding (and thus going out of town) very difficult. Elyea was up for the challenge and willing to work with us on adjustment so when we actually got to our time to go out of town, both her and Freya would do well with it. Elyea came over for four meet and greets within a couple of weeks leading up to our travel, and each time, Freya got a bit more comfortable with her. Elyea's animal handling experience shined through, as she understood the intricacies of Freya's needs and didn't just dismiss instruction with a "it's fine, I love dogs," aa many people do. When it came time for us to actually go out of town, everyone got along great and all was well. Patient, caring, and flexible. 💯 Will be booking again.”

“Annika was awesome. She played with rocky and molly the second she got to my house. Informed me everything that was going on throughout her stay. Even my dogs seemed disappointed when I showed up instead of Annicka lol. She did everything perfect. Definitely would recommend her to anyone”

About: I grew up on the family farm surrounded by dogs and cats and all kinds of animals - caring for them was part of my life. That lifelong connection led me to volunteer at a local dog and cat shelter where I've gained even more experience with pets of all temperaments and needs. I treat every animal like family and I willl give your pet loving care whether it's for a quick walk or an overnight stay. I have a very flexible schedule so I can fully prioritize pet care. My days naturally revolve around the animals I am caring for and I enjoy creating routine that suits their needs. My home, farm in the woods, is calm and pet friendly space where animals can relax, go for walks or play. In client's home, I'm respectful of their space and routines, I communicate with the owner, send updates and make sure the pet has all my attention.

“Peter went above and beyond house sitting my dog, cat and guinea pig. He was so kind to send updates and photos and really bonded with them while staying. He was incredibly kind, attentive and trustworthy and I absolutely would book him again in a heartbeat.”

“Susan is an angel for our dogs! Susan has been a god send to our pups and she is absolutely amazing with them. We look forward to our trips now knowing our pups will be safe and happy at home. Were already counting down to August!”

About: I had a dog for 10 years, helping with training like sit and shake, all the way to helping my dog as a senior. I frequently volunteer on KC Pet Project animal shelter where I have given dogs of all sizes dog day outs! I know how to handle a very excited pup all the way to a mellowed out dog! I am very patient with all animals and love giving them the attention that they need. While my own dog was going through cancer in his final months I took him to all his vet appointments, kept on top of all his medicine and physical care. I am currently a college student at the University of Kansas. My class schedule allows me to visit/walk your furry friends starting at 10:30 in the morning all the way to the late hours of the night! Helping your pet will allow me and your pup to get the exercise and fresh air that we both need. With my class schedule I can ensure your pet will walk in the morning before it becomes too hot and drop in any time of the day. I will make it a priority to visit your pet 3-5 times a day. Providing them with walks, playtime, snuggles and food. I will ensure safety for your pet by taking them out regularly, making sure their water bowl is replenished and hopefully keeping them a happy dog while the client is away! If your pet is a senior dog I have experience with administering oral pills for your pup, applying cream, eye drops, or any other kind of medication. If you pet is a pup I can provide safety from other dogs to reduce the risk of harm to your pup and the other pooch.

About: I’m reliable, patient, and genuinely love caring for animals. I take time to understand each pet’s personality and needs—whether that’s playtime, quiet companionship, or extra attention. You can count on me to treat your pet like family and keep you updated so you always feel at ease. I take care of my three cats morning and night, feeding them three times a day with fresh water at every meal. This routine has taught me the importance of consistency, attention, and creating a calm environment for pets. I’m experienced in providing loving care, monitoring their needs closely, and making sure they feel safe and comfortable throughout the day. I no longer have my dog, but I am more than comfortable with dogs as well! When caring for pets in your home, I prioritize maintaining their regular routine to keep them comfortable and stress-free. I follow your instructions carefully, whether it’s feeding schedules, exercise, or medication—and give each pet plenty of attention and affection. I make sure their environment stays clean and safe, and I provide updates so you can feel confident your pet is happy and well cared for while you’re away.

“Michaela was awesome!! Took great care of Coco and it was so nice to have someone at the house to watch over everything. She even watered our plants. Excellent communication before, during and after our trip and we loved getting all of the photos while we were on vacation so we didn't have to worry. This was not our first Rover experience, but the first house sitting one and it gave us peace-of-mind for sure. Thanks again, Michaela.”

“Laura was amazing! Mattis is a unique dog with many quirks, and she adapted to him amazingly. This was the first time we had someone care for him in our home instead of boarding, and we’ll never go back! Highly recommend Laura!”

“Hailie was wonderful! I would give her 10 stars if possible. Before sitting my 3 dogs, she came to my house twice to help them become comfortable with her. My 3 dogs are shy and slow to accept new people but within just a couple of days, they were following Hailie all over the house. I was away for 3 weeks and she sent several photos which helped alleviate my anxiety over leaving them. I highly recommend Hailie and will definitely ask her to take care of my dogs the next time I need a pet sitter.”

“We were pretty nervous about having someone in our home to take care of our pets, and have always relied on boarding with out vet, in the past. Shanelle is the first person who we have ever had housesit with our pets. We have 2 dogs and 2 cats. We have had her stay 2 or 3 times, and one time for over a week. She is wonderful! She is the sweetest, kindest person, and really seems to care about our home and our pets. Her fiance helps her from time to time and he is also very nice and reliable. Besides doing everything that was expected, she also made sure our newly planted grass was watered every day, and took our 9 month old puppy to her own home for a playdate with her own dogs. Our house was clean and in perfect order when we got home. We can't thank Shanelle enough for such a great experience, and we highly recommend her! We will have her stay again, for sure!”

“Emily is great! She stayed with our dog at our place while we were out of town. She took good care of our home and our pup. After I reached out she promptly made arrangements to come by to get a lay of the land and introduce herself to our dog. Emily is prompt, responsible and trustworthy and I’ll definitely reach out to book her again when we go out of town.”

About: Animals have always had an extremely special place in my heart. Ever since I was a kid I’ve helped care for my family’s own pets: feeding them, caring for their health, giving baths, taking them outside and on walks, and pretty much anything else having a pet entails. I also am in the process of beginning volunteering with the cats and dogs at Lawrence Humane Society! I am a full-time student, but I am available whenever I am not busy with classes. I also have a few volunteering shifts throughout each week that I need to work around, and a job (that I will be done with next month). I provide them with food and water, clean up their litter, play with them, take the dogs on walks, and show all the animals lots of love! I am also flexible and open to doing whatever I am able to.

About: 🐾 About Me: Hi there! I’m passionate about pets and have been taking care of dogs since I was just 7 years old. Throughout my life, I’ve had the joy of sharing my home with various breeds, including Cairn Terriers, Beagles, Dachshunds, German Shepherds, and a Pit Bull. Each dog has taught me something unique, and I cherish the bond we have/created. ❤️ Fostering Experience: I’ve also had the rewarding experience of being a foster mom for a dog rescue. Caring for these wonderful animals has been immensely fulfilling, and I loved being able to help them transition to their forever homes. My heart is always open to providing a safe and loving environment. 🐶 What I Offer: Playtime & Exercise:** I believe every dog deserves to have fun! Whether it’s a walk, a game of fetch, or just some cuddle time, I’m here to keep your pup engaged and happy. Personalized Care:** I understand that every dog has its own personality and needs. I’m committed to providing tailored care that suits your furry friend perfectly. Safe Environment:** Your dog’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I maintain a clean, secure space where they can feel at home. 🌟 Let’s Connect! If you’re looking for a dedicated and experienced dog caregiver, I’d love to meet your pup! Together, we can ensure they have a fantastic time while you’re away. Feel free to reach out—let’s chat about how I can help! I work a full-time job remotely four days a week, which gives me flexibility during the weekdays. My schedule allows me to be available for dog sitting in the evenings after work and throughout the day on my days off. Additionally, I’m free on weekends, making it easy to provide care for your furry friend when you need it most. •Secure Space: My home is pet-proofed, with all hazardous materials (like cleaning supplies and small objects) stored out of reach. I ensure that windows and doors are secure to prevent any escapes. •Emergency Preparedness: I have a first aid kit specifically for pets and know basic first aid procedures. I am also familiar with the nearest veterinary clinics and emergency animal hospitals in case of any urgent situations. •Supervised Play: When dogs are playing, I supervise them closely to prevent any roughhousing that could lead to injury. I also monitor their interactions to ensure they are comfortable and safe. •Open Communication: I believe in building trust with both you and your dog. I encourage you to share any specific needs, preferences, or concerns regarding your pet's care. Regular updates and photos can help you feel connected while you’re away. •Consistency: I maintain a consistent routine for feeding, walks, and playtime to help your dog feel secure and comfortable in my home. Familiarity fosters trust, and I aim to create a stable environment for your pet. •Positive Reinforcement: I use positive reinforcement techniques to build a rapport with your dog. This helps them feel more at ease and creates a trusting relationship. •Comfortable Space: Your dog will have access to a cozy area where they can relax. I provide bedding, toys, and a quiet place for them to unwind. I also ensure that the environment is clean and free from any hazards.

About: I’ve been dog sitting everyone’s pets in my neighborhood since I was 10. I love to be around any kind of dog! I’m always active I’m currently only doing rover so I have plenty of availability and time to make sure your dog is my top priority all the time! I have a large fenced back yard to keep your dog safe! I also have my own leashes, collars, and harnesses with me always !

“He did a great job hanging out with my dane. They got along great and he was in tip top shape when I returned. I could tell he liked him because he was glued to him before he noticed I was home.”

“Jacklyn was very communicative throughout the entire week that she house-sat for us. She was great with our senior pup and sent us regular updates while we were gone. Highly recommend if you’re looking for someone you can trust!!”

About: I'm especially good with timid animals, and I love making them feel more at ease. I have a soft presence and a lot of patience. I'm good at reading dog language. I'm super responsible, so you can count on me to follow your dog's preferred daily schedule and to send you updates. I work from home, in a neighborhood that's pleasant for dog walking, and we have a fenced backyard. I grew up with small dogs, wanted to be a vet. I've cared for my current doggo for 9 years. I work from home, and my time AWAY from home is flexible. I can definitely be here as your dog is getting used to our home. About your dog's experience in our home: My home office is on the main floor, and I'm aware of all activity in my small-ish house. Your dog can rest on the sofa, futon, rugs, or the big dog bed--or in a kennel if they prefer. I have a fenced yard with room to run. Our friendly 10-year-old, 35-pound boxer mutt, Kiri, enjoys playing with small dogs. But she's not at all pushy. :-) About caring for timid animals: I had a deep, deep bond with a very timid cat, and I just have a super soft spot in my heart for them. I had a shy young kiddo. One of my "day jobs" is a coach for introverted people: I help people honor their introversion, including their need for quiet, calm, and solitude. About my profile photos: I'm the one in the family who takes the photos, so it's nearly impossible to find a photo of ME and Kiri. :-} I include some photos of our house and yard (kids' faces blurred) to give you a sense of our space. Kiri is part of our family. She hangs out in the common spaces with us, and in the backyard. We take her to the dog park or on daily neighborhood walks. The first 3 photos are at dog parks. The rest of the photos show our house and yard.

About: I am a canine enrichment coordinator at a boarding facility and I teach basic and intermediate manners training classes. I have a degree in behavior science and I'm hoping to complete my KPA training certification in the near future. Ask about enrichment and basic training add-ons! I work as a full-time enrichment coordinator and dog trainer. As such, I have restricted availability. In general I am free Monday, Tuesday, and Friday evenings and all day on Saturdays. I am available for dog walking, check-in visits, and house sitting. I can also offer enrichment and basic training services as add-ons. Let's talk about some enrichment strategies to help your dog live a happy and full life!
