“Madison did a great job. From the beginning she communicated very well and easily completed all the tasks we asked her to. You can definitely tell she is passionate about taking care of animals. We’ll definitely book her again for our next trip.”

“Ashley was great doing drop ins for my cats. She was super quick with communication, sent plenty of pictures and eased my anxiety since I've never hired a pet sitter before. Would definitely use her again!”

“Alexandra is a wonderful pet sitter who took excellent care of our cats!! When we first met Alexandra we got an excellent first impression. She is very warm and friendly and was great with our pets! When we came home after vacation, our pets were relaxed and happy. She was easy to communicate with, leave detailed messages on the app everyday. Thank you so much!!”

“Jenna communicates so well! Inga is a rescue who had a rough 2 years as a pup. It has taken Inga 14 years of TLC from us to get to where she is - lovable and sweet. Jenna is experienced and knows how to approach Inga and win her over her affection. Kudos to Jenna❣️”
“Jennifer was excellent. Prompt, attentive, and went above and beyond to care for my cats while I was away. She gave detailed information and sent me pics, which was awesome! Even though the cats were hiding!”

“Katherine treats your pets like her own! What a wonderful experience we had with her - will absolutely be rebooking her!! We loved how quickly our pets warmed up to her - two dogs who don't socialize often but clearly loved her from all the amazing photos she took! I was so at ease leaving my pups with her I'd be comfortable doing it again in a heartbeat! She's simply amazing!”
“She was so great! Our pups were well taken care of, and our house looked great after we returned from being away for a week. Our 3 dogs were not easy either as 1 is still very young and energetic, and the eldest is partially paralyzed. She was very patient and understanding with our dogs and great with communication with us while we were away. Very happy with her service!”

“AWESOME! I received a ton of pictures and videos everyday. I was afraid my one cat was going to leave home because he was given so much attention lol. Rochelle and her family are absolutely beautiful people. I knew when they came for the introductory visit that my kitties would be fine. ❤”
About: Hi! My name is Karina, and animals have been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up, my family had four large dogs, four cats, and small pets all at the same time, so caring for animals of all kinds has always come naturally to me. I graduated from SUNY Delhi with a degree in Veterinary Technology, where I received professional training and hands-on experience working with both small and large animals. My background gives me the knowledge and confidence to care for pets with attention to their health, safety, and individual needs. Today, I share my home with three cats and help care for my dad's rescue pit bull, so I understand the importance of finding someone you can trust with your furry family members. Whether your pet needs a walk, playtime, companionship, medication administration, or just some extra love while you're away, I will treat them as if they were my own. My goal is to provide reliable, compassionate care and give pet parents peace of mind knowing their pets are safe, happy, and well cared for. Certified, experienced, and passionate about animals—I can't wait to meet your pets! 🐾 I’m an elementary school teacher so I have summers off. I am available Monday-Friday from 9am-3pm but can also sometimes make other times or weekends work depending on the notice given! When going to a client’s home I like to make sure I treat it like my own! I know how important it is to be very careful and mindful of ensuring that your pet doesn’t get out of the house, is left from my care with everything they need for the rest of their day, and have someone who is constantly vigilant. Whether you have a fenced in backyard, just want me to pop in and stay inside to play with your pet, or take them for a walk, I always make sure that I am aware of my surroundings and are careful to keep your pet, myself, and others, safe and healthy. Please let me know if your dog has any specific health issues, allergies, or behavioral issues, such as aggression towards other dogs, reactive toward animals, or people.
“Gwen took excellent care of my 16 year old cat Polly while we were away. Polly is a sensitive cat and it can take some time for her to warm up to new people. Gwen had no problem giving Polly her liquid oral meds in our absence. I was able to have peace of mind during my vacation knowing Polly was in good hands.”

“Thank you for dropping in on my little girl on such a short notice. Very professional and accommodating. The photos were great. Exceeded all expectations. Would highly recommend.”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was 12, including my own Pekingese and my family members dogs. Every dog to me are babies no matter how big or small they are. They deserve the best care which I can give them. I adapt fast to any type of personality. Dogs just like humans have their own unique personalities. I’m currently back from college and I have plenty of time to take care of your babies. I currently am looking for a part-time job which still leaves me with a lot of time to look after your pups. I have one friendly Pekingese, who can keep your dog company if needed. I will always make sure to clean up after the pups. I will always leave your home the same way it was when I arrived
“Shelby was great with our dogs and they warmed right up to her. She did everything we asked and even reached out to see if we wanted to modify our plan due to impending rain which was very thoughtful. We plan to book with her again and use her regularly!”

“Jennifer was so professional and sweet. She went above and beyond to accommodate our last minute booking request. She went out of her way to meet us and our dog early in the morning and she was super sweet to our girl during her visit. Thank you!!”

“Christian came to give our elderly cat subcutaneous fluids while we were on vacation. We were worried about how it would go, but as a vet tech, Christian was confident he could handle it. She got her fluids with no problems. Christian was great. We'll hire him again.”
About: I've volunteered at AWSOM Animal Shelter walking dogs & caring for cats. I've walked & taken care of dogs for friends and neighbors. Personally, I have 3 cats and a dog! I have a flexible schedule. I am available days & nights as well as on short notice. My Rover calendar is updated frequently, so booking availability is accurate! I have experience taking care of puppies and dogs that require close supervision. I can stay with pets when necessary, or drop by for visits & care throughout the day depending on your and your pet's needs.
“Deb was the exact pet sitter we’ve been searching so long for. First, she was available on short notice when plans came up for us unexpectedly. She also had no problem doing a meet and greet within 24hrs notice. She was so sweet to Sam and clearly loved animals. She was happy to walk through all the quirks of the animals and was in no rush. So many sitters on Rover show up for five minutes, let our pup out, and tell us they are leaving (despite the fact that we pay for a 30min visit). I’d resigned myself to the fact that it’s just the way Rover is. Then we found Deb. She texted when she arrived for the visit and checked in on how Sam was and let him out the first time. She sent a few pictures on how he was (and even checked in on how our cat was even though he wasn’t on the docket for the day). Then much later she checked in again and took Sam out a second time. She used up all the 30mins and more. She shared how much she knew animals are social and value human connection. I’ve been searching far and wide for a sitter who understands that. Deb is that person. We will without a doubt be using Deb going forward. She is one of a kind.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 545 sitters on Rover offering Cat Sitting across Reeders. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Reeders. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
