“Kirsten and Nicolas were great! They sent pics during the whole stay and were very communicative. They also have a fenced in back yard that they let the dogs run around in. They updated us when the pups appetites were low, which I really appreciated. Both of our dogs tend to be anxious without us because they aren’t used to used to being alone, so it was also a big plus that they work from home. In the past we have had to send our pups to kennels because we don’t have friends or family near by who can watch them. They would be locked in a kennel all day and we would literally have to pay extra for belly rubs or time out of the kennel. I usually feel uneasy the whole trip but not this time. I could tell they were well taken care of and treated like one of their own. Thank you so much Kirsten and Nicolas!”

“Kristi has been incredible! This is my second time using her to watch my dog. She sends updates and pictures and keeps you involved while away. She's been extremely flexible and easy to work with. My plans changed and needed her to watch my dog extra, she did it without hesitation. What a blessing! I'm not in columbus often, but when I need a sitter, she is my top choice. Book with her and you will not be disappointed!”

“Ashley is a god send and she took care of Bosco just like she’d take care of her own. Bosco had a blast there with her puppers so much so that he refused to get into the car to head home. He was super comfortable and happy at Ashley’s and given a chance he’d be happy to stay there forever. We’re so glad to have found someone like Ashley who takes such good care of the puppies that come for a stay and the puppies know they’re safe, cared for and showered with love. Bosco will definitely return again”

“Kris was the perfect pick for leaving my buddy Smith with. He was loved on, well taken care of, and got lots of play time with her dog Baloo!! He came back to me in great condition and clearly happy with his “vacation”. Updates were frequent and adorable, and having Smith treated like a member of the family was such a big relief when I was initially a bit nervous about leaving him with a stranger for so long. Kris will 100% be our go-to for future boarding needs.”

“Carly was amazing. Zeke is normally shy but as soon as Zeke met her he was already starting to feel comfortable, Couldn't ask for a better babysitter. From Pics, answering questions, flexible, making sure Zeke was well taken care of and comfortable. Zeke had so much fun running around the fenced yard, playing fetch and sleeping in the bed. Carly even gave us a report card on Zeke's stay, it was so cute. I will recommend her to anyone needing a babysitter.”

“Maria was an awesome dog sitter. She was so flexible with drop off and pick up times. We had to drop Mango off very early and she was fine with that and then we were not sure about when we would be back and she was never pushy about a pick up time. She sent us tons of pictures of my pet through out her stay which made me feel so much relaxed. My dog looked like she was having such a great stay. She took her out on many walks and let her roam vs a cage which we loved. I will def. consider maria again as needed for any trips.”

“I recently retired from the military and moved to Ohio. I still have to do some traveling and needed to find a dog sitter. My girls have never been boarded and have been with anyone other than family so I was extremely nervous. Danielle amd her family were so amazing. The girls were absolutely in heaven with her and her family. She sent me photos and updates. My two babies fit right in and I absolutely loved how much her daughters loved on my girls. I will forever reach out to her again for dog sitting. It is so refreshing having a family love my babies as much as I do! Thank you so much!!!”

About: My love of animals led to my passion for taking care of them. I am a Registered Veterinary Technician. I graduated from CSCC Veterinary Technology program in 2021. I work at a vet clinic, so I've learned the signs of a happy pet and a pet in distress. This makes me the perfect person in any situation involving your beloved fur baby. Besides providing a copious amount of loving, I can give cats/dogs their medication including pills, liquid and insulin. If there is an emergency, I can drive them immediately to your Veterinary or Emergency Hospital. With the few years of being in the Veterinary field, I've given plenty of baths, nail trims, ear cleanings, and medications. All of which I can provide for you. In the clinic setting, I was in charge of vaccines, putting patients under anesthesia and monitoring them. I've drawn blood, performed dentals, taken X-rays and cleaned wounds. I feel that all of this information will give your mind ease that your pets will be completely safe in my care. I'm currently working at a dermatology vet clinic Monday thru Thursday but, I’d like to help with your fur babies after my shift and/or on my days off. I have a wonderful 13 year old daughter that goes to Delaware Schools that likes to come with me to help (we ask your permission first). When taking care of your pets, I will follow your feeding schedule and instructions along with refilling their water bowl as needed. I'll provide exercise and playtime that will include walks, fetch and toys. I can administer any medications needed and keep track of both times and dosage. Bathing and grooming your pets can be a part of the care as well. If you have a cat, I can clean and/or change the litter box. Not only will I give them so much love and companionship, but I will also monitor for unusual behavior, signs of illness, and changes in appetite or bathroom habits. I will keep them safe from anything potentially harmful. I would love to send updates and pictures of your fur babies whenever you'd like. If there happens to be an emergency, I will call you immediately and drive them to your veterinarian or closest emergency hospital. Lastly, I will lock up the house securely after each visit and follow any security measures that are in place.

“Kayla was amazing!! We left our anxious Bernedoodle puppy with her, and he was so at ease in the environment. He was fully loved by her family, and made playmates with her dogs. She was great about sending pics or videos each day, and getting him plenty of time outside on walks or in their yard. I highly recommend her for any of your pet needs. We will be using her many times for boarding this upcoming year. It brings such peace of mind knowing our dog was in good hands.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of November 2026, there are 593 sitters on Rover offering Dog Boarding across Prospect. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.

95% of sitters in Prospect can provide daily exercise during dog boarding stays. Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, this may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.

During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Prospect home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:

  • Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
  • Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
  • Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Prospect.

Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Prospect. On Rover:

  • 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

You and your Prospect sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in OH ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Adding another pup to the pack? Most sitters and walkers offer a reduced rate for additional dogs. You’ll find these exact rates listed under the "Services" tab on any sitter's profile. Since every dog is unique, final pricing may vary depending on the level of care required.
