All rates are negotiable. *Boarding: I only host 1 family's pets at a time. This provides a safer environment for your pet and an "at home" feel with plenty of attention, especially for reactive or aging dogs. I don't use crates or kennels but if you want to bring yours along that is fine, I also have 1 medium sized crate on hand if needed. I have a very clean home and welcome pets to feel comfortable if they would like to snooze on the sofas, bed, and we have a secure fenced in yard, but I do not leave dogs unattended in the yard. I work for rover occasionally and my schedule is typically super organized and flexible. We do at least 2 active hours per day- and we try to squeeze in as many hikes as possible. My boyfriend is also very helpful with the dogs- if they are up for it, he will take them jogging every night.

About: I love pooches of all kinds, but have a special affinity for Boxers and Staffordshire Terriers and other short-haired dogs of their ilk. I grew up with dogs and owned two boxers for much of my adult life. Now that my last boxer has passed, I need to get all my dog love by taking care of yours! I live in the West End of Portland and prefer to work nearby, but can travel for the right friends. I work part-time so have some extra hours to give to walking and loving other peoples best friends. I don't have any pet of my own right now, so I really appreciate loving others. I used to have pets, but these days, we spend all of our homecare on our three-year-old human child, who is more than enough :-p

About: What sets me apart as a pet sitter is my lifelong passion for animals, combined with a professional background in caregiving. I’ve cared for a wide range of pets—from fish and hamsters to rabbits, turtles, hedgehogs and of course, dogs. My original childhood dream of becoming a veterinarian eventually led me to earn degrees in both biology and nursing. Today, I’m a registered nurse, and while I take pride in caring for people, I find even greater joy in caring for animals. I’m also comfortable caring for senior dogs and pets with medical needs thanks to my nursing background. When your pet stays with us, they’ll be treated like family—free to relax indoors with us and our dogs or enjoy quiet time in a private space if they prefer. They’ll have daytime access to our yard and regular walks on the nearby nature trails to keep them happy and stimulated. My goal is always to provide a safe, loving, and enriching environment where your pet feels at home. I currently have a flexible schedule allowing pet care to be my #1 priority! I have recently relocated to Maine with my husband to settle down on our forever home & property. We live in a dog-friendly household on 2.6 acres. My home has a big back yard, bordering on woodlands, and is adjacent to a bird sanctuary with dog-friendly walking trails. I am spending some time improving my home and property before going back to work full-time as an RN. I will be caring for my two dogs during this time and feel I have the capacity to add several more pets to my space and routine. I have the flexibility to plan my day around feedings, nature walks, and yard play time for the dogs. This will be balanced with rest periods inside my air-conditioned home. Inside, the dogs will roam freely and have access to water bowls, dog beds, couches, and open crates - allowing them to choose where they feel most comfortable. I have two well trained and friendly doodles who would love to walk and play with your dog if he/she likes to play! (Personalized care plans available for more shy dogs who would not enjoy being around my dogs all the time **Any dogs receiving day care or boarding at my home must be non-hostile with other dogs so that my dogs will not be bitten or harmed.) We do not have any children or other pets in the household. I offer care to dogs at my home for doggy day-care and overnight boarding/sitting. I will send you (at least) daily photo updates and communicate with you promptly. That way you can rest easy and enjoy your day or vacation knowing your fur-babies are in good hands with me at my home!
