“Manuel was great with our weenies! He sent us pictures daily & gave us updates on how they were doing. We would definitely use him again. Highly recommend!”

“She was absolutely wonderful and treated Beau like one of her own. We felt completely at ease knowing he was so loved and well cared for. We would 100% book with her again!”

“Khea was so wonderful to our 11 year old yorkie and 2 year old Weimaraner. She took lovely care of our girls for over a week and they had the best time at her home! We were update frequently and I would 100% utilize Khea’s services should we need them again!”

“If you’re looking for a reliable, caring, and absolutely fantastic dog sitter, look no further! I recently left my 3 month old puppy with Jennifer S. and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. From the moment we met, it was clear how much she truly cares for animals. She took the time to learn about specific needs, and routines, which put my mind at ease right away. Throughout the stay, she provided regular updates, including photos about what my puppy had been up to—walks, playtime, and all the cuddles! It’s obvious that my puppy was well cared for and I think she was not happy to leave her new friends. Jennifer S. treats her clients’ pets as if they were her own, which is so reassuring. If you need someone who’s trustworthy, experienced, and goes the extra mile, I highly recommend Jennifer S.”

“Melinda was amazing, I’m a total helicopter dog mom and Melinda was not only great with my sweet girl Frankie but she was also so good about putting my mind at ease with photo updates of how Frankie was doing!! I’m new in town and I’m so happy we found Melinda and her happy dog family!!”

We were so grateful we found Bobbye, we definitely be a repeat customer if we ever go for a trip again.”

About: Welcome! My name is Kirsten and I am a resident of Portland Tx! I’m originally from Austin where I began my animal care journey. I owned my own animal care service business in Austin for about 4 years taking care of dogs and cats from north all the way down to south Austin. I’ve loved every minute of meeting all kinds of personalities from all pets and giving them the love and attention they need. I’m happy to do a meet and greet with your fur baby. Look forward to meeting you! Pet care is a consistent part of my daily and weekly routine. I currently work full-time as a dental assistant, and I am preparing to transition into dental hygiene school soon. Because I already manage a structured schedule, I’m very organized with my time and make pet care a priority. My routine allows me to provide regular walks, feeding, playtime, medication (if needed), and plenty of attention. I love to take pups on walks In the neighborhood, play with their favorite toys and give them lots of rubs! If there are activities you prefer I would more than happy to add them to our daily activities. :)

“Ingrid was great. She happened to be in our area so offered to pick up our dog since she was near by. Bailey slept with her in the bed too. Right where he’s used to sleeping.”

“Karen did an amazing job taking care of our sweet babies. We have a 15 year old girl that has a hard time getting around and Karen did a great job of taking care of her. She was always avaible to chat if need be and sent us loads of pictures and updates. She even got them little christmas gifts for the holiday!!! If you need a sitter that goes the extra mile Karen is your gal. Wouldnt hesitate to book again!”

About: I’ve had dogs all my life. I’m very caring and give them a lot of attention. We live in a house with a large fenced backyard. If you live in the London area I’m the one to care for your dogs when you go out of town. I help take care of our family dogs. I take them outside for exercise, and I help feed and clean them. When I’m relaxing on the couch they like to sit with me. I work Monday through Friday from 12 to 3. That is the only time they would be alone. And my mom is usually home during that time. I’m very gentle with dogs. I like to sit and read with them beside me. I’m good at keeping a schedule for feeding and medicine.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Portland
DeAnn was amazing. We were visiting the gulf and planned an outing Roo couldn't attend, so last minute, found DeAnn and she accepted. Roo got to hang out with DeAnn and her neighbor Fran. He was well loved on. Both ladies are super friendly and sweet. Thank you both!

This was the first time leaving our pup with anyone. Deann made us feel very comfortable. It was a very clean environment and Deann sent us pictures and updates about how our pup was doing. We were very happy with the care our pup received and will definitely be using Deann again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
