“Taylor did a great job house sitting while we were on vacation. She took great care of our home, two dogs & cat. She was very responsive & sent us pictures of our boys while we were gone. I would definitely request her again in the future.”

“Casie stayed for the weekend with my 2 dogs, cats and guinea pigs. One of my pups requires a pretty extensive med schedule and she was great! I will totally ask Casie to watch over my babies again ♥️”

About: I have extensive experience with animals of all sorts. I grew up with English mastiff dogs, then became a husky lover later on in life. I've owned sheep, goats, cows, horses, chickens, dogs, cats and much more. I grew up on a mini farm and we always had different animals who were raised with lots of love and care. I'm looking to replace one of my part time jobs with taking care of your awesome pets! I will only accept clients if I have the time to give your pets the best care. I am great at following your most detailed instructions for your home. At this time I cannot care for pets in my home because I am not set up for that but will be in the future.
About: I've been a pet owner since 1990. Would love to help out fun dogs in need of attention. Recently relocated back to my hometown and can't have a pet of my own currently. Someday, again... I've just relocated back to Ellwood City and look forward to opportunities to network with new clients and their pets. I've been inactive for the last few years because of work responsibilities, but I'm really flexible right now until I find permanent work again in the area. I cannot bring pets to my home though. I will follow your instructions to the T. I can't offer in home services where I live, but will do as instructed so that your pet enjoys my visit. Just let me know any do's and don'ts and I can take it from there.
About: I have owned dogs and cats since 1985 and was on a K9 Search and Rescue team for 18+ years so I have worked with all types of dogs and have a lot of experience with training. I currently work outside the home M-F 9-5 but can work from home upon request. Weekends I am home the majority of the time and spend most of my time hanging out with my own dogs (two labs) I have hosted a variety of dogs in my home including corgis, labs, goldens, frenchies, pitties, mals, and other assorted breeds. I treat everyone's pets just like my own - lots of treats, snuggles, couch naps, and of course sleeping on the bed if they want. Both of my labs are extremely friendly and love pretty much all dogs, but I do have experience sitting some dogs who preferred to be separate from my boys via either baby gates or kennels (depending on what the dog is comfortable with). I have a large fenced in backyard and a smaller fenced in front yard. The backyard has a doggie door that allows the dogs to go in and out at will, although when I am not home, I do not give any dogs access to the yard (even my own dogs as a safety issue).
About: I’ve had pets since I was younger and I have been pet sitting my neighbors cats & dogs for about 6 years now while they go on vacation. I will love your animals like they are my own! I am very flexible with my schedule and could work with any time that is best for you and your animals! Message me for more details. I would care for your dog or cats with anything they need and make them feel as comfortable as possible with much love and to take good care of them.
“Cassidy was awesome. Great communication, punctual, and super friendly. She loved on Rocco from the start of meeting him which he so enjoyed. She was respectful of our kitties and sent picture update during the session, much appreciated. We would definitely recommend her.”

“Melli was great with our pups and cat, she sends frequent updates so you know your pets are being taken care of. We have some rambunctious dogs, so I felt good leaving them with someone who cares! She left the house clean and our dogs seemed to have had a great time! Hoping to be able to use her services in the future!!”

“Amanda was great with our three Husky’s. They are all blowing their coats and she did a great job keeping up with the flying fur. Our dogs were so calm and relaxed when we got home, she did a great job of keeping me updated and I didn’t have to worry about whether or not they were well cared for during our vacation!”

“She stayed over for a long weekend and was amazing. Great communication the whole time with pictures everyday and let us know how our little guy was doing. Easily accommodated to what our needs were with no issues at all. Will definitely us her again and again!!!”

“Paige is extremely reliable and she consistently offers excellent care to our beloved pets... Our pets love to be around her and because of this, we can be away from home without worrying about them for a few days... Thankful to have met her through this service...”

“This was our first time using Rover and it went better than we could expect. Drew was attentive and provided as many updates and photos that I could want. I recommend her and i will most definitely be contacting her again.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Portersville
Millie took exceptional care of our dog, Kailey. It was immediately clear how much she truly loves animals, and that gave us great peace of mind while we were away. She sent regular updates and photos, which we really appreciated and looked forward to. Kailey was happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. We would absolutely recommend Millie and would love to have her watch Kailey again

What a blessing to have found Mellie. I booked Mellie for my boy George, a mixed breed puppy that I had rescued 5 weeks prior to her stay. She worked tirelessly with him to correct his separation anxiety as well as leash manners. Somehow I had become a guest in my own home, with George becoming head of the household! Mellie explained that George needs lots of exercise and discipline and strong leadership. During her stay, not only did she care for and train George, she took care of the daily issues and problems that occur when you own a home. She was in constant contact and sent daily messages, texts and wonderful pictures of George. Mellie was determined and dedicated to completing the goals that were set of her time with George. She left me feeling completely comfortable and confident that best possible care for George as well as my property would be provided during her stay. I would absolutely guarantee that Mellie will provide you and your pets a wonderful, stress free experience . If you want a responsible, trustworthy dedicated caregiver, Mellie is the person to contact. Highest recommendations for Mellie.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 817 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Portersville. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Portersville walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Portersville maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Portersville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
