Samantha and Ian took wonderful care of our pups while we were on vacation for a week. They sent many updates and photos while we were away. Our dogs didn't want to come home I don't think! We have tried many dog sitters and will only be using Samantha and Ian from here out!

We had great experience with Jena and Nick. Dexter received lots of love, personal attention, playtime, daily walks. Their pet Sebastian was a very nice dog and became great buddy of Dexter in a short time. They have a very nice and clean fenced backyard too. Dexter really enjoyed his time with Jena, Nick and Sebastian… We really appreciate their effort in making sure Dexter felt it at home…Thank you Jane, Nick and Sebastian for being so lovely to Dexter.

Stacey is fantastic. Her experience is evident in her calm and professional manner from the start. I felt very comfortable leaving my shepherd mix for a week knowing he would have plenty of room to run and the added benefit of other large dogs to play with. My dog can be reactive on a leash and at first meeting new people and Stacey handled him very well - calmly and with no apprehensions. She sent photos periodically during his stay and was very easy to communicate with. I will definitely use her again and will highly endorse her services.

Gina and Brian were very accommodating and amazing with our boy. We had to change plans last minute and they were able to make it all work. Being able for Finn to meet and greet with Zoe and the rest of their family provided all the comfort we needed to leave him with amazing people.

Maria and Tony were beyond great with my 3 month old golden retriever. This was the first time I had ever left her and she very much enjoyed their huge fenced in yard & playing with the other dogs. I got photo updates every day from them & will definitely feel comfortable using them again- in fact I am in 2 weeks! ☺️?

Michael was really great to work with. He is super attentive and kind and you can tell he truly cares for all the puppers. We boarded our two dogs and weren’t sure how our grouchy old girl would do, but she fit in quite well and had a great time. The video updates were really great and both doggies did great for their time away!

About: I have owned dogs and cats since 1985 and was on a K9 Search and Rescue team for 18+ years so I have worked with all types of dogs and have a lot of experience with training. I currently work outside the home M-F 9-5 but can work from home upon request. Weekends I am home the majority of the time and spend most of my time hanging out with my own dogs (two labs) I have hosted a variety of dogs in my home including corgis, labs, goldens, frenchies, pitties, mals, and other assorted breeds. I treat everyone's pets just like my own - lots of treats, snuggles, couch naps, and of course sleeping on the bed if they want. Both of my labs are extremely friendly and love pretty much all dogs, but I do have experience sitting some dogs who preferred to be separate from my boys via either baby gates or kennels (depending on what the dog is comfortable with). I have a large fenced in backyard and a smaller fenced in front yard. The backyard has a doggie door that allows the dogs to go in and out at will, although when I am not home, I do not give any dogs access to the yard (even my own dogs as a safety issue).

About: For the past seven years, I had the privilege of sharing my life with my dog, Agatha, whom I adopted when she was around seven years old. She recently passed away at an estimated 14 years old after battling cancer. Caring for Agatha, especially during the last few months of her life, taught me patience, compassion, and how to meet a dog exactly where they are. As she got older, she needed more hands-on support. Whether it was helping her stand, carrying her when her body wouldn't cooperate (all 55 pounds of her!), or hand-feeding her because that's how she was most comfortable, I learned that every dog has unique needs and deserves care that respects their personality. Agatha was fiercely independent, so I always tried to give her as much dignity and choice as possible while making sure she felt safe and loved. While I'm not ready to adopt another dog just yet, I truly miss having one in my life. That's what brought me to Rover. I would love the opportunity to care for your pet, whether they enjoy long walks, playtime, or simply having a calm companion nearby. I live in an apartment with easy access to outdoor walking paths, sidewalks, and a nearby dog park, making it easy to provide plenty of exercise, fresh air, and opportunities to explore. My goal is to make your pet feel comfortable, cared for, and at home while you're away, and to give you peace of mind knowing they're in loving hands. I own a local fitness studio, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to plan my day around the pets in my care. Most weekdays, I'm available between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. for walks, drop-in visits, or spending quality time with pets. My mornings typically begin around 8:00 a.m., and I'm at my studio from approximately 9:00–11:00 a.m. and again from 4:00–7:00 p.m. Because I have flexibility throughout the day, I can provide regular potty breaks, exercise, meals, and companionship. Whether your pet enjoys an active walk, playtime, or simply relaxing with someone nearby, I'll make sure they receive attentive, personalized care while you're away. I know that every pet is different, so my first priority is getting to know your dog's routine, personality, and any special needs before their stay or visit. I'll follow your instructions closely, whether that's feeding schedules, medications, favorite walking routes, or little routines that help your pet feel comfortable. In my home, pets will have a clean, calm environment with plenty of attention, fresh water, potty breaks, exercise, and a comfortable place to rest. I live in an apartment with easy access to sidewalks, green space, and a nearby dog park for dogs who enjoy socializing (only with your permission). If I'm caring for your pet in your home, I'll treat your home with the same respect I would my own while keeping your pet's routine as consistent as possible. I'll also provide regular updates and photos so you can relax knowing your pet is happy and well cared for. Above all, my goal is for your pet to feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you're away.

About: I have taken care of my own dogs and do my very best to treat them like family. I make sure they eat, have adequate potty time, and recreation time. I will be sure to take care of your pet as if they were with you. I am currently working, but have plenty of time to care for pets. They will have plenty of time 1 on 1 with their needs met. I have a yard and can give your dog access to exercise or take them on walks at parks. I do my best to follow your home schedule as much as possible to ensure they will be still on that schedule when you return home.

We have a 16 year old dog has never been left with a stranger. We were nervous to leave him but Melli’s exceptional care quickly put us at ease. She asked great questions, took time to understand his unique needs, and gave him lots of personal attention. I appreciated her good communication before and during his stay. If we ever need to leave him again, we will certainly be sure to book Melli!

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Portersville home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:

  • Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
  • Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in PA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
