“She did a great job with my three pets. She kept me updated every day. When we returned, the house was sparkling clean. I can’t say enough about her professionalism and care of my pets.”

“Michelle was a top notch pet sitter. She took amazing care of our dog and cat for a week. She was terrific with communication and she left the house sparkling clean. I highly recommend Michelle to others and would rebook her in a second.”

“Madeline is one of the best dog sitters we've ever had! She was so great with our dogs and they absolutely loved her. Madeline provided us with daily updates, pictures, and videos, which put us at ease during our time away. Excellent communication and took excellent care of our dogs. We had complete comfort and peace knowing our dogs were in her caring hands. She even went out of her way to tidy up the house before we returned home. Highly recommended - if you're looking for a dog sitter, Madeline will treat your dogs and your home as if they were hers. She’s the best!”

“Lorianne was absolutely incredible with our pets! Our dog is very timid and wary of strangers, but he absolutely loved her! She sent pictures and updates regularly, and we felt very safe with her :)”

“Natalie was an excellent sitter. We received several updates and pictures of the pets... something that is severely lacking from sitters in this area. She was also very early, which worked out great for us! Our home was also left neat and clean, huge huge plus for us. Also, we didn't come home to anxious dogs for once! Natalie was just top notch!”

“Glenn looked after Oliver, our 13-year-old Jack Russell in our home while we were away on a two week vacation. Glenn met with us and asked plenty of questions before we left, so he could understand Ollie's routine and behaviors. He sent photos of Ollie every day while we were away so that we could relax and enjoy our journey. Our home, and our fur baby were well taken care of, and we highly recommend Glenn to anybody looking for a professional pet and home sitter who really cares about his clients and their pets!”

“She was available last minute and accepted it! I always know my dogs are in good hands when I’m out town and she cares for them! She truly is amazing! Let’s you know when she is going to your house, when she got there and than sends pictures and videos, tells you what the dogs did or didn’t do and sends a picture of the door locked! Truly amazing and will continue booking with her in the future!”
“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Hailey did an amazing job caring for our home and pets while we were away for four days and three nights. From the start, she was professional, dependable, and easy to communicate with, which gave us great peace of mind during our trip. Our pets were clearly well cared for and received plenty of attention, affection, and exercise. Hailey kept us updated while we were away, and it was reassuring to know everything was going smoothly. When we returned home, our pets were happy and relaxed, and our house was clean, secure, and well maintained. Hailey went above and beyond our expectations and treated both our home and pets as if they were her own. Her rates were very fair, especially considering the outstanding level of care and service she provided. We highly recommend Hailey to anyone looking for a trustworthy, responsible, and caring house and pet sitter. We will absolutely be using her services again in the future. Thank you, Hailey!”

“Stephanie was an absolute delight of a person she really made us feel comfortable leaving our 2 year old Boston while we went away for the weekend ! Will defiantly want her too sit out pup anytime !!”

“Clare stayed in our home and watched our small pup for a few nights while we traveled. We both are usually very nervous leaving him but this time felt so completely comfortable because of how professional and friendly Clare was throughout all of our interactions. She took wonderful care of our baby, and also our home. Sent pictures and updates daily which made us feel so at ease. Highly recommend!!”

“I’m so grateful for Jessica ! She treated Gator like her own and made the whole process super easy for me. She’s very reliable, kind, and clearly loves dogs. Gator can be anxious, but he warmed up to her right away. When I got home, he was happy and tired from all the walks and playtime. It’s such a relief to have someone I trust to take care of my dogs when I’m away.”

“This was my first time using rover and Kimberly did an amazing job watching my 2 dogs. She took the time to come over and meet them before hand to make sure it would be a good fit. During the time I was away Kimberly sent me pictures and kept me updated to make sure my dogs were doing good, which kept me and my husband at ease while we were away. About: I've owned and been training dogs since I was little. I have had 2 dogs on my own and pets throughout my life. My first job was a self-created pet sitting business when I was in 5th grade. I offered services to local families in my neighborhood. I have watched over reptiles, canines, felines, and multiple breeds of dogs including aggressive breeds. I am a compassionate person and pride myself on taking care of all pets as if they were my own while operating by the golden rule. You can feel safe when you leave your animals with me. I take my own dog out for potty breaks roughly every two to three hours and take her along with me on walks and runs in the community. I plan to pet sit as a Side gig while i am looking for jobs in finance, marketing automation, email marketing and interviewing remotely in Port Saint Lucie Florida I have taken care of all types of dogs, big small and in between. I grew up with pets and have one of my own named Roxy. She is 13 and has some dietary and medical routines that I have to stick to to keep her healthy and happy

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 595 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Port Mayaca. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Port Mayaca walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Port Mayaca maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Port Mayaca choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Port Mayaca. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
