“Brandon is an amazing dog sitter! He treated all of our dogs like his own and was super dependable. He came over and met the dogs prior to his first stay with them and got along great. He isn’t afraid of asking questions and is very kind. We will definitely be using him again.”

“Leslie is just great with our dog! He is a senior dog, on medication, and needs special care. She is very patient and kind with him. We never have to worry when she is taking care of him. We are repeat customers and we will definitely use Leslie again in the future!”

“Jocelyn was great with our dog Winston. He's very nervous but he took to Jocelyn really quickly. Communication was excellent and we have already rebooked!”

“Donai was amazing and we’ll be working with her again! Our finicky old gal, Meeka, wasn’t a fan at first (like she is with everyone, not Donai’s fault). But Donai was patient with her and let Meeka warm up to her in her own way. Donai walked her daily and followed our feeding directions and took great care of her like she was her own. By day 2 Meeka let Donai’s pet her and by day 3 there were cuddles and Meeka wouldn’t leave her side. Thank you so much!”

“This was my second time booking with Lauran, and once again she was absolutely wonderful! Having someone I can trust with my two cats gives me so much peace of mind while we're away. She kept me updated with photos and messages, made sure my cats were well cared for, and even managed to earn the trust of my very shy cat, which says a lot! It's clear she genuinely cares about the animals she looks after and goes above and beyond to make sure they're comfortable. I wouldn't hesitate to book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring pet sitter!”

“Ava was great! She is one of the best sitters I have had so far, she did exactly everything that I asked if her. I loved all of the picture she sent throughout the day and that made me feel at ease although I was 300 miles away. My apartment felt even cleaner than I left it! My cat was seemed happy and content when I came back - she wasn’t clingy at all like she didn’t miss me much lol. I would definitely ask Ava to sit my place again. Highly recommend her.”

“Kaley did an outstanding job house-sitting and caring for our elderly pup. He was happy and well when we returned, and the house clean. She communicated exceptionally well throughout. We’d definitely rebook with her!”

About: I’ve cared for & loved animals my whole life & will ensure your/their needs are met & exceeded. I’ve utilized sitters myself in the past & would like to provide a far better experience for our fur babies than what I have encountered. I can be available pretty much 24/7 depending on your needs. I will follow whatever schedule is best for your fur baby. Its important to make them feel as little disruption to their routine as possible. I’ve a private home w/ plenty of quiet space to promote comfortable, low stress atmosphere while your babies are away from home. Attentiveness is my priority
“Kaitlyn was an excellent care giver and companion to my senior pup. Kaitlyn made wonderful suggestions and accommodations to Lacey’s diet. Lacey was well-loved. 🥰In addition, she was conscientious in ensuring the house stayed neat.”

“I had never left my pets with a sitter before but Chelsie made it so easy! She sent updates and photos of my babies and they were all happy and healthy when I got home. I would definitely hire her again!”

“Laura cared for my two large and high-need dogs for 10 days in my home. Half of those days, I did not have cell service. She communicated regularly and dealt with odd things that came up without my assistance. She left my home spotless, and my dogs were peaceful and calm when I returned home! I feel lucky to have found Laura!”
“Everything went very well! Aiden kept in touch with me, sending pictures of the boys, which helped me feel better about leaving them. We came home to a clean house and happy dogs.”

“There are not enough words to praise Emily for the care she gave our baby!! It was the first time we ever left our dog with someone, and we were very nervous. That all disappeared the moment we met Emily. She was so good with our baby (and with us), that we knew we chose the perfect person. While we were gone, we received numerous photos and videos of our baby that proved to us that not only was she doing well, but she was happy, content, and was getting all the attention she needed. Emily stayed in our home; and when we returned, it was just as neat and clean as when we left it. Emily is the number one choice ALWAYS!!”

“Joanna was amazing! She's a great communicator, sent lots of pictures and took great care of the boys! She's neat and trustworthy and we will definitely have her back!”

“Becca was very sweet and attentive to our babies needs! She kept us updated with daily pictures and messages about how they were doing. Will definitely continue hiring her in the near future!”

“This is the second time we have used Kai as a sitter and she takes fabulous care of our fur baby!! You can tell he is spoiled with attention and I get plenty of photo updates while I am gone so I am not stressed!”

“Bayley took great care of our big boy goldendoodle! She provided frequent updates while we were away and was extremely responsive. We will definitely be using her again in the future.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Poplar Hills
Kaley is absolutely the best! She keeps Faith in her daily routine and takes wonderful care of our home, too. We love her daily updates and Faith always seems so happy and well cared for when we return. We can’t recommend Kaley enough, and we’ll continue to book with her whenever we can!

What a wonderful experience we had with Kaylynn. My high anxiety puppy really loved staying with her. I had no worries whatsoever while we were away. This was our second experience with Kaylynn and I would not hesitate to book with her again. She was on time, professional, and just a pleasure.

Catherine was great with our pups! She saved us in a pinch and booked us last minute so we could make our concert! She was very tentative when we gave her instructions and had no issues bonding right to our 3 babies. If we are ever in Louisville again and need our pups watched, she will be our first call! We also got video and picture updates the entire time we were gone! Top tier service!

Allison came with glowing reviews and exceeded expectations. We have two rescue dogs, and this was the first trip we have taken since getting them two years ago. Our male is very bonded to me, and I thought he would have difficulties. Instead, Andy snuggled up next to Allison and had a great old time. Our female came from a tough background and is the fragile one - shy of strangers and nervous. Even on first meeting, she did not hide in her room but came out to investigate. While she did not and could not match our male's comfort level, she loosened up, went happily for walks, and was in great spirits when we returned. Allison's feedback was top notch, and she went above and beyond the basic needs of a sitter. Just and excellent experience, which calms my nerves for our next trip!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 786 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Poplar Hills. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Poplar Hills walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Poplar Hills maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Poplar Hills choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
