“Caitlin is so amazing with my dog Alabama. From the first time they met it was an instant connection. You can tell how much she really cares for animals. My cats love her too!”

About: I’ve been around/taken care of dogs my whole life. I grew up with four pugs and I now have just one elderly chihuahua. I also help my grandmother care for her multipoo and I never pass up on the opportunity to pet a cute doggy! I am currently home from college for the summer, and have plenty of free time to walk/check in on your pups! I typically free during the days from 11:00am-6:30pm I have my own leash and poop bags which I am able to use for walks, but I am also completely fine with using your own accessories!
About: I’ve taken care of my 2 dogs for 12 years along with helping my friends and siblings care for their pets. I love dogs and cats of all ages and breeds and I love to show them the affection and care they deserve. I am currently working part time so I have pretty open availability including all day off on Monday, Wednesday and Sunday. I can provide multi day care if needed or just a walk or visits! I have plenty of experience with all types of dogs with different attitudes and personalities. I know how to effectively and nicely deal with any problems that pop up and I’m always willing to provide whatever care is needed for any dogs.
“Alyssa has been wonderful this week. My dog is very nervous around new people. I honestly didn't think Payton would actually get a walk due to being so scared but she got leash and received wonderful pics of Payton having fun and requesting belly rubs!”

“Xiaotong did an amazing job taking care of Hachi. She was warm, attentive, and clearly loves dogs. Hachi was happy and relaxed when I picked him up, which says everything. She kept me updated and made me feel confident that he was in great hands. I highly recommend Xiaotong and would absolutely trust her to watch Hachi again.”

About: I have had pets my whole life. I currently have a 7 year old German Shepherd and 4 year old black lab mix. I love all animals and spending time with them. I have experience with taking care of diabetic cats who received insulin twice a day. I work full time from home so I have flexibility throughout the day. I am about to become an empty nester now that my youngest will be heading off to college in August. I’ve found that I have a lot of free time. I am available to come to your house as often as needed to care for your fur babies. I can take your dog for walks or just snuggle with your cat, whatever is needed.
“Katy has been incredible with our Australian Shepard! She is incredibly responsive and we have been so lucky to have her walk him on a regular basis! Katy is always here on time and lets us know about everything! She’s incredible and if you are looking for any services with your pup she’s the one to reach out to!”

“Heather is amazing! My pup was really hesitant about interacting with someone he didn’t know and Heather was so patient and gentle with him. Fast forward to two weeks later and he is excited to see her, does tricks for her and gives her kisses! Thank you, Heather, for the incredible care of our little man!”

“Daniella was amazing. She took such good care of our dog while we were on vacation. She provided thorough notes about her visits and walks. We were able to enjoy our time away without a single worry. I would highly recommend hiring her for your pet care needs.”

“Christopher is excellent. He was calm and patient so my dogs warmed up to him quickly. He didn't skimp on the walks and spent extra time whenever appropriate. Communication was informative and reassuring, including several pictures. Dogs were happy and I felt confident they were well cared for. I will definitely call on Christopher again.”

About: I have always had a dog or cat in my life since I was little. Also growing up I was active in 4-H with horses. I still today volunteer for mostly horses and dogs. I care, clean and play with them to show them they are important. I get joy when being with them as they are so rewarding and turn your bad day into a good day. I have two dogs, some fish and a hedgehog of my own. When I take care of animals I talk to them like they matter and get down on the floor and play with them if they want their toys. You won't find me just on my phone sitting around. They miss their humans when gone and I try to make them feel loved so they aren't lonely. I have never not had an animal with me. I have also helped with fostering service dogs, taking them to vet appt's when puppies and training them and going to training classes weekly for them until adopted. it was a real pleasure to see them excel and get their vest to go out in public and work with real life situations to be able to help someone less fortunate who needs them for support. Dogs are so awesome. I think cats are great too, I have taken care of some for my neighbors and had a few growing up. they are fun to watch and play with. I am currently volunteering at a dog shelter. Working at a horse farm was rewarding also, taking care of them, getting them saddled and ready for special need children and helping them by leading them around the arena. Also did private lessons with kids helping them groom and clean stalls. I always help out family and neighbors if they need help with their animals and give friendly advice if they ask. I am a homemaker so I do have time to come care for your pet.('s) I have a car to get there and don't mind a little drive. I have a nice big fenced in yard. I have two dogs of my own who are very friendly and love to play. I don't mind at all if your dog would rather stay at home where he feels safe and everything he needs is there. I like detailed notes so I know what's best for them because I'm the same way. I believe in the little things in life that matter.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Plainfield
This is the 2nd time we have used Elizabeth for walking Stoney. She took a last minute appointment for the 2nd time. She is a wonderful happy person. Stoney lived her. She also informed us after the walk a person was messing around our mail box and other mail boxes. So nice if her to notice that. Thank you so much.

I am so grateful for the care and love my dog receives from Amanda. She is very dependable, thoughtful, and truly treats my dog like her own. You can tell she genuinely love animals, and my dog is always so happy and excited to see her for her walks. I highly recommend Amanda to anyone looking for a trustworthy and compassionate dog walker!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
