“Nikki watched our fur baby Mazie over Thanksgiving week and we couldn’t be more happy with the care she received. We felt very comfortable leaving her with Nikki and knew she would be well taken care of. She sent pictures and was accommodating when we changed the pick up/drop off times. Nikki is very responsive. We will definitely be having her watch Mazie again and already have her booked. I highly recommend Nikki to others. Nikki, thank you for taking such great care of Mazie!”

“Sarah was wonderful! Our dog is 10 years old and has been sick so he’s on several medications twice a day and Sarah took wonderful care of him. I was incredibly anxious about leaving him and she provided daily updates and pictures that showed he was in great hands. We picked him up and he was perfectly happy and seemed to have had a great time with Sarah and her family! Would absolutely recommend and would love for Sarah to watch any of our pets in the future!”
“Kristi and Will were amazing with our boy Winston. They sent multiple pictures and updates a day that helped us feel like he was getting the best care and attention while away from home. We could reach out any time to check in and would always get a response right away. We could tell he enjoyed his time and would absolutely recommend them to anyone that needed their pup watched!”

“TEN OUT OF FREAKING TEN. Was my first time boarding my baby and I was super nervous but she made the entire experience the best for both of us(me and my pup)! Daily/ hourly updates with pictures and videos was a huge plus! In what she sent you could tell he was having a good time and very relaxed! Very loving home! I could feel she wanted to cater to him to him because she asked about what he likes, dislikes, routines & etc before even booking. If you are looking for someone who will love your dog and not just watch them she is who you NEED to book with! Will now be my go!”

“Tonianne kept us informed of how our puppy was doing the whole time. We felt very comfortable knowing he was well taken care of. We will definitely book with her again.”

“Ben loved Siennas home! I was a little worried as this was only our second time leaving him with someone and he is a solid 75 pound, hyper puppy (9 months), but he loved her house and her black lab Sully! Her family was so sweet to Ben and he got to meet some chickens! Highly recommend Sienna for a safe loving place for your pet to stay!”

My deep love for animals ensures that your furry family members will receive the same high level of attentive, compassionate care that I give to my own. Because I am home every day, pet care isn't just a task—it is a natural part of my daily routine! I know firsthand how important structure is for a happy pet. I make it my priority to provide consistent meals, regular exercise, and all the dedicated attention your furry family member deserves. Safety and trust are my top priorities when hosting pets in my home. You can rely on me to strictly follow your requested schedule and care instructions with the utmost attention and affection. To maintain a peaceful environment, my friendly, non-aggressive golden retriever is always here to welcome social and well-tempered guest dogs for safe, supervised play.
About: I have had pets my entire life. I have raised puppies, and kittens. I've also had experience with guinea pigs and leopard geckos!! I have been part of end of life care with family members dogs and loved and supported them and their pets through it all. I absolutely love animals and if I could I would have a massive farm full of them:) I currently take classes for Baking and Pastry. The classes are first thing in the morning and are over by 12:30- and then I am free to drop in. If doing a drop in, I will follow any instructions you leave me. If there arent any specifics, then I will literally come in as if I was coming home to my own dog! If your pet is boarding with me, I have a very very large backyard to play and run. If kenneling is needed we have a large kennel as well that my dog used to use. I can keep the animals separated if needed since I have a 2 story home.
“Kathy was wonderful! I love that she only takes one client at a time and doesn’t have pets of her own at the house. It’s so nice to not have to wonder….will the other dogs get along with my dogs…will the other dogs be nice to my dogs… etc. It’s such a nice feeling to know that they got Kathy’s undivided attention. My boys can never seem to get enough pets, scratches, and attention, so I know they loved getting Kathy to themselves. I loved the pictures and videos of them that Kathy sent during their stay. They looked so happy and at ease.”

“Jessica did an awesome job watching our boys! It’s always nerve wracking to leave them with someone else, but Jessica put our minds at ease with lots of updates and pictures throughout the week. Would absolutely use her again in the future!”

“Kaitlyn was great!! As this was my first time leaving my dog with someone other than family she made the experience worry free and I’m glad my dog was well behaved. I would definitely book with her again.”

“I have no choice but to recommend 10/10. She kept us updated throughout our pups stay and sent plenty of pictures. With all the time they spent at the park, our boys still tired days later. Highly recommend.”
About: Hi! My name is P.J., and I am a dog person without a dog. After 15 years with my own boxer rescue, I recently had to say goodbye, and my home feels a little too quiet. While I am not ready for another dog of my own just yet, I am very ready to love on yours! My schedule is super flexible as I don’t work a traditional 9 to 5, so your dog will get lots of attention, supervision, and companionship throughout the day. Whether your pup is high-energy, a champion napper, or somewhere in between, I’m happy to match their vibe. Walks, playtime, or just hanging out on the couch…I’m down for all of it. I’m easygoing, reliable, attentive, and very comfortable following whatever routine your dog is used to. Detailed instructions, medications, special diets, or quirky habits don’t bother me at all (honestly, I think the quirks are part of the fun). My family includes my husband and 10-year-old, and they love dogs as well. When they’re home from work and school, your pup will get even more attention and affection (basically a built-in fan club). I know firsthand how nerve-racking it can be to leave your pet with someone else. My goal is to make sure your dog feels safe, loved, and completely comfortable while you’re away so that YOU can also feel completely comfortable and relax knowing your pup is well taken care of. As a stay-at-home mom, my schedule is incredibly flexible. I have plenty of time and attention to give to your pup, and am open to both short-term and long-term boarding. My own yard isn’t fenced, but I live in a large neighborhood with a fenced dog park and miles of sidewalk for long walks. My home is clean, cozy, and clutter free—safe for active or curious pets!
“Kyli is an excellent pet sitter. She kept me consistently updated on how my dog was doing, sent pictures regularly, and truly put me at ease while I was away. I really appreciated her care, communication, and dedication. Thank you so much for all the effort!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Pineville home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Pineville.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Pineville sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in SC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
