About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats of every kind since I was 15. I have also volunteered in animal shelters when I was younger. Before Rover, I was on the site Doggy Vay Cay serving many clients. Neighbors, friends and family have relied on me to walk, feed and bathe their pets. I had a family dog, which passed away 3 years ago along with my cat passing away years ago, therefore I love being around animals I will have plenty of time to play with your fur babies. I will play tug of war, give them treats if need be, and run around with them. At this time, I will not be taking care of pets in my own home, but hopefully in the future, I will. I currently live with a lovable crew that includes a Maine Coon mix cat, three dogs (a Tennessee Walker Hound, Chihuahua terrier mix, and dachshund mix), plus a few goats and chickens. In addition to dogs and cats, I’ve provided drop-in care for birds, goats, and chickens, so I’m comfortable with a variety of animals. I also have experience giving medications to dogs, and I’ve given pills to both dogs and my own cat, especially since my dog has health issues that require regular medication. I am committed to keeping clear and consistent communication with pet owners, ensuring you’re updated throughout my visits. I also ask that you do the same in the event there is a question of care, or in the off chance of an emergency. With my own transportation and a flexible schedule, I’m ready to accommodate your pet care needs and provide peace of mind while you’re away. About: Hello animal enthusiasts! My name is Katie and I have worked with animals in a multitude of settings. Jane Goodall (Primatologist) was always an idol of mine. As I grew up in a household loving my dogs, cats, and birds I envisioned working in Africa with chimpanzees. While my vision didn't manifest exactly the way I had fathomed, I still ended up working with baboons in Africa (2017). Along the way, I was an outdoor educator for several years working with all sorts of reptiles, amphibians, birds, mammals, and invertebrates. I have been attracted to all types of animals since the day I was born. As a science teacher (8 years), I kept corals and saved many animals in the outdoor environment near our school (from squirrels to birds and much more). My husband and I have just moved from Chicago, IL to Florida. We have a love for adventure and curiosity for the great outdoors. We are happily married with our Cockatiel (Sunny) and Umbrella Cockatoo (Jack). I can't wait to meet you and love your pets for eternity! Along with my elementary education degree, I studied zoology. If your dog loves the hose, we have access to this as well. Who doesn't love a nice spray during the hot summer? Your pet will have 24 hour access to this yard, cozy home, and the couch or bed! We live about 5 minutes from the Audubon Pennington Park where we love to take nature walks. I'm sure your dog wouldn't mind a nature walk too! We truly do enjoy hosting neighborhood pets as one of our very own family members. Your pet will receive unconditional love, constant cuddles, outdoor time, and food/water the way you prefer it! At night time, they can choose from our warm bed or their very own cozy dog bed. For larger companions, I also have several giant crates to ensure their comfort if needed. Dogs will be crated at night only if they need to be. If your dog is potty trained and can be trusted being loose in a house overnight then they will not be crated unless the pet owner wants them to be crated. Pets always have fresh water and are fed as scheduled by the pet owner. We do board cats and they are kept in a seprate area of our home. We have a very large lani and pool. Your pets will never be unsupervised when they are in our pool area. I have a yard but it's in the process of getting fenced. I do have a small fenced area for little dogs. I walk the dogs as many times as they need to, to go potty. I've been told by multiple pet parents that other sitters just put their dogs out in a yard unsupervised and their dogs were attacked by other dogs. I'm always supervising your dogs.
