We were visiting family in Sarasota and last minute needed a dog walker for the day. Christine was available the night before and walked our dog twice for us while we were gone all day. She sent us photos of both walks which was great. Highly recommend and will use her again if we are back in Sarasota with our dog!

About: Animals aren’t just pets to me. They are individuals with emotions, personalities, and needs that deserve to be understood and respected. I do not just watch them, I connect with them! I genuinely care for them and treat them like they matter, because they do. You can feel completely at ease knowing their happiness, comfort, and safety are always my top priority. As an animal rights advocate, I approach every animal with genuine compassion and awareness, tailoring my care to who they are, not just what they need on paper. Whether they are energetic, shy, playful, or sensitive, I meet them where they are and give them the attention and love that helps them feel truly safe and seen. You can trust me to show up consistently, follow routines closely, and create a calm, caring environment while you are away. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine, and I structure my schedule to allow consistent time for walks, feeding, check-ins, and companionship. I generally maintain a flexible routine, which allows me to adjust based on each pet’s needs and the specific care plan we agree on. I’m intentional about not overbooking so I can stay attentive and responsive while pets are in my care. My availability can vary slightly week to week, but I prioritize clear communication and planning in advance to ensure expectations are aligned and your pet’s routine is supported as closely as possible. I aim to create a calm, safe, and comfortable environment based on each pet’s routine and personality. Whether I’m in your home or mine, I follow your instructions closely while staying attentive to how your pet is feeling. In your home, I keep things consistent with their normal schedule so they feel secure. In my home, I maintain a clean, low-stress space with close supervision and attention to safety and care. I stay mindful during walks and interactions and avoid anything that could feel overwhelming or risky. I also provide regular updates with photos and check in if anything seems off so we can decide what’s best together. **I do not have pets of my own, but my roommates have pets in the other part of the home. They are well-managed, and I take care to ensure safe, controlled interactions. I can also keep pets fully separated at all times if preferred, using multi-barrier safety measures.

About: Dogs have always been a huge part of my life, not just pets, but family. I grew up around dogs, volunteered with the Humane Society throughout college, and have experience caring for dogs of all ages, sizes, and personalities. I also have experience with senior dogs and dogs needing extra medical care. One of my huskies developed diabetes and eventually went blind, so I became very comfortable administering medications and injections, following strict routines, and giving patient, loving care. I lost my sweet Shih Tzu after 17 amazing years together, and now I have two spoiled pups of my own, Gracie and Lily. I truly understand how important it is to trust the person caring for your pet, and I treat every animal like they are my own. Whether your dog loves long walks, playtime, cuddles, or just calm companionship, I’ll make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I have a flexible schedule and am available most weekends, with weekday availability on many days as well. I’m happy to work with pet parents whenever possible and always do my best to accommodate schedules, routines, and special care needs. I provide a safe, calm, and loving environment where pets are treated like family. I pay close attention to routines, feeding instructions, medications, energy levels, and personalities so each pet feels comfortable and cared for. I live in a very dog-friendly area in Fort Myers with plenty of space for walks, playtime, and exercise. I always prioritize safety, supervision, communication, and making sure your pet feels at home.

About: Your Pet's Home Away From Home with a Lifetime Animal Enthusiast I'd be honored to welcome your beloved pets into my home! My life has been devoted to animals, starting on a ranch where I gained hands-on experience with everything from horses, dogs, and cats to chickens and beyond. As a retired horse trainer and long-time dog breeder, I bring a wealth of knowledge in animal health, behavior, and communication. I've personally trained service dogs for mobility, and I'm passionate about helping dogs overcome behavioral challenges. With your permission, I can address specific training needs your dog might have, such as potty training, leash manners, or breaking other bad habits, ensuring their time with me is both enjoyable and productive. Rest assured, your pets will be treated as cherished members of my family during their stay. Our home is a calm, adult-only environment, providing a peaceful and safe space for your companions. I'm available at anytime to make sure your pet is well taken care of. I have dedicated my life to animals and I love it. With many years of dedicated experience across a diverse range of animals, I offer exceptional pet care grounded in health, compassion, and understanding. My extensive background includes not only general animal well-being but also specialized expertise in handling animals with specific needs and successfully training dogs and other animals through positive methods. We do not have any small children or any children. Just adults that love animals. I'm committed to ensuring every pet under my care feels loved, safe, and comfortable. My flexible availability means I can accommodate your pets' schedules and individual requirements at any time. Pets always have fresh water and are fed as scheduled by the pet owner. We do board cats and they are kept in a seprate area of our home. We have a very large lani and pool and a small dog pool available for your pets. Your pets will never be unsupervised when they are in our pool area. I have a very large screened in lani that the dogs can run and play in. I do have a small fenced area for little dogs. I do not leave the dogs outside unattended due to risk of over heating, escaping, cane toads, poisonous snakes and fire ants. I walk the dogs as many times as they need to, to go potty. I've been told by multiple pet parents that other sitters just put their dogs out in a yard unsupervised and their dogs were attacked by other dogs. I'm always supervising your dogs.

About: I’ve cared for dogs of all different breeds for over 20 years starting with family, friends and neighborhood dogs when I was around 10. I’ve personally owned Pitbulls, Great Danes,Rottweilers, Schnauzers and Malteses. I currently have 2 cats so I am even comfortable with them! But at the end of the day I’m comfortable with all animals. Feeding, walking, bathing and just everyday care is not a problem for me! I currently work full-time but I am off work at 3 pm everyday so my whole afternoon is available. My off days are Sunday and Tuesday which I am completely available for. I know it’s hot here in southwest Florida and your pets care and safety in this hot sun is the most important for me! I know how hard it can be on their paws and how quickly some breeds can overheat.

About: Hello animal enthusiasts! My name is Katie and I have worked with animals in a multitude of settings. Jane Goodall (Primatologist) was always an idol of mine. As I grew up in a household loving my dogs, cats, and birds I envisioned working in Africa with chimpanzees. While my vision didn't manifest exactly the way I had fathomed, I still ended up working with baboons in Africa (2017). Along the way, I was an outdoor educator for several years working with all sorts of reptiles, amphibians, birds, mammals, and invertebrates. I have been attracted to all types of animals since the day I was born. As a science teacher (8 years), I kept corals and saved many animals in the outdoor environment near our school (from squirrels to birds and much more). My husband and I have just moved from Chicago, IL to Florida. We have a love for adventure and curiosity for the great outdoors. We are happily married with our Cockatiel (Sunny) and Umbrella Cockatoo (Jack). I can't wait to meet you and love your pets for eternity! Along with my elementary education degree, I studied zoology. So, with that being stated, I'm here in Florida ready to meet new people, love your pets, teach, adventure, and learn all about Florida ecology! Let's connect! I'm currently reinventing my life/schedule after just recently moving from Chicago, IL this year and leaving my middle school science teaching position. I plan on working for a nature center and substitute teaching while I continue improving my writing career. As of right now, I have an open schedule until the end of August. I will be changing my availability in September. Currently, we do not have a fenced in yard for your pet but I can surely take him/her out with their leash in our vast open space! If your dog loves the hose, we have access to this as well. Who doesn't love a nice spray during the hot summer? Your pet will have 24 hour access to this yard, cozy home, and the couch or bed! We live about 5 minutes from the Audubon Pennington Park where we love to take nature walks. I'm sure your dog wouldn't mind a nature walk too! We truly do enjoy hosting neighborhood pets as one of our very own family members. Your pet will receive unconditional love, constant cuddles, outdoor time, and food/water the way you prefer it! At night time, they can choose from our warm bed or their very own cozy dog bed. Your pet is top priority and we want to provide the best experience for them so that they are happy to come back and play! With that being said, I would love to work with you to provide whatever it is you and your pet need. Thanks and can't wait to touch base!

About: I took care of my childhood dog for 10 years, he peacefully passed a few months ago at age 14. I have 3 cats and 1 dog currently, my partner has two cats. I got a dog on 1/4/24 and her name is Indigo, she will be 2 in October. My professional experience includes having worked at Petcoral Veterinary Hospital and Resort doing boarding and sitting in daycare along with helping veterinarians administer meds, do anal glands, nail trimming, bathing & etc. My partner would be joining me to care for any pets. This is mostly for my own safety/comfort & it helps me to have an extra set of hands. She is a Licensed Massage Therapist who loves animals. I do Rover & Wag full time since my passions are for working with animals and i have many hobbies/passions im interested in pursuing. Pet care fits into my daily routine because i love working with animals. I enjoy the freedom of working on Rover and the enjoyment i feel when meeting new pets/people. I'm happy to do whatever you need me to for your pet/s and make sure all their needs are taken care of. I do Rover full time so pet care fits into my routine perfectly, i love meeting new dogs/cats & getting to know their unique personalities. I care for pets by making sure they're fulfilled physically and mentally. I love to cuddle and i love playing with dogs/cats if they enjoy that. I get fulfillment out of being a person they feel safe with and want to play/cuddle with. In the same way that a parent does with a child, i feel a maternal instinct to care for pets/animals.

Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Nocatee. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Report cards require photos and can include a map of the walking route , total walk time, poop and pee breaks, and distance traveled, so you know exactly where your dog has been walking in Nocatee.

Got specific details you'd like the dog walker to include? Message them in the app before your dog’s walk begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Nocatee. On Rover:

  • 89% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
