“Alexis was a great care taker for our dachshund over the weekend! She was very open and receptive to any specific requests we had, shared pictures and videos. Overall our dog appeared to enjoy the time with her and we would definitely reach out again the next time we are out of town.”

“Anna took great care of my pack on short notice. I was worried as I have never used a dog sitter but my pups loved meeting her which eased my mind. I will definitely rebook with Anna again.”

“Courtney is FANTASTIC! I've been working with Courtney for about a year now and my cat and I appreciate her so much. She is responsive, takes excellent care of my cat, and gives him all the attention that he wants when I'm away. Highly recommend!”

“This is the second time we've booked with Makenna, and I'm yet again a happy customer! She's done a house sitting and drop in visit with fantastic through updates. I feel relieved she's taking such great care of my dog and cat.”

About: I have grown up with animals my entire life. I have such a big heart for our four legged friends and I take great care of them. I recently moved to Cleveland and adopted Winston. He is the best thing to ever happen to me. We love walks, going to the park, and just hanging out having each other as companions. I’ve had him since he was 8 weeks old and now he has turned into a well mannered young man! He would love to play your your fur baby!! My work schedule varies week by week but i am almost always home by 5pm and I keep my days pretty open on my days off. Winston and I go on about 5 walks a day as long as the Ohio weather permits!! I live in an apartment so I don’t personally have much square footage indoors but no matter the space, I would always try to make your pet feel as comfortable as possible. Fortunately, we have a nice dog park and some very pretty neighbors to walk around!
“Christopher has been great for drop-in visits with my two dogs. My 5 year old doodle Ruthie is nervous around strangers and he put her at ease pretty quickly. My 4 month puppy Bodhi loves his play time with Christopher as well. He’s very attentive with Bodhi’s puppy antics and makes sure the dogs don’t play too rough. Christopher’s prompt communication before and after visits and genuine care for animals definitely earns him a 5 star recommendation!”

“Madison was amazing! She watched my cat and was very communicative the entire time. She made sure to send pictures and made sure we were aware of how my cat, Mishti was doing. I’ll definitely book with Madison again for future trips!”

About: Hello! My name is Summer, your friendly outdoorsy pet sitter! 👋 A little bit about me: My family has fostered cats and dogs ever since I was a little girl! I had the privilege of caring for dogs and cats from all walks of life; from training puppies and kittens to end of life care for senior or injured animals. Our animals have always been the center of our world. 🤍 Since moving from my Indiana home, I have been taking care of my fellow neighbors furry friends for the past 5 years! I have experience with dogs and cats of any size and temperaments and LOVE to be outdoors. With my new work from home job, I’ve been looking to fill my mornings and evenings and would love to meet your little companions! I have two beloved cats of my own, Coco and Moss! Coco, my soul cat, was found as a feral kitten and now lives her best life lounging in the sun. Moss was born from a momma cat that we rescued 3 years ago and has been my little best friend ever since! I have a full time work from home job and will be available between 5:30 - 8:45 am and 6:45 - 8 pm Monday through Friday! I have a 30 minute lunch break daily and can stop by depending on distance. I am also open to weekends as well and can be more flexible with my time. I am a planner and will always know in advance when I will be out of town or gone for the weekend! Ensuring a safe and calming environment is my first priority when taking care of your pet. Building trust with a new human takes time and patience and is not a process I will rush. Since my services will take place in a clients home or in the neighborhood for dog walking, I am open to meet and greets so your beloved pet feels safe in my presence.
“Natalie was beyond amazing! Her warm energy made our dogs feel comfortable which made us comfortable! She went above and beyond for our dog that has a disability. Very responsive and gave so many updates. Can’t wait to book with her again!”

“Kim was amazing! Our doggies love her and she was always on top of sending pictures/videos and updates. She made us feel like we didn’t have to worry about our fur babies while being out of town. She came prepared and asked questions about how to care for our doggies. She really treats them as if they were her own and it shows by how much our dogs enjoyed her watching them. Don’t hesitate to book with Kim! We will definitely be booking with her again in the future!”

“Randy was absolutely wonderful at taking care of our pets while we were on vacation (a dog and a cat). He was communicative and took many pictures during his drop ins. Our dog ended up peeing on the upstairs carpet multiple times while we were away and he took the initiative to clean it up for us. Randy also came out a week before we left to meet the animals so the dog/cat could get used to him being around for the week.”

“Susan is very reliable and really cares for your pet. I really appreciated her efforts in making sure your pet is well taken care of and is a great communicator.”

About: Dogs have always been a big part of my life. When a couple of years ago we lost our senior family dog, I started volunteering with a local rescue and have fostered 20+ puppies over the past few years. Fostering has given me experience with everything from energetic, playful pups to post-surgery care—things like baths, basic grooming, medications (even injections), vet pickups, and lots of patience and love. I also help neighbors with dog walking and pet sitting, so I’m used to different personalities and routines. I truly just love being around dogs—and getting outside for walks is a bonus for me too! I’m available for afternoon and evening walks or check-ins during the week. On weekends, I have much more flexibility and I am available throughout the day for walks, check-ins, or multiple visits if needed. I’m also happy to stick to your dogs’s usual routine to keep them comfortable and happy. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. During walks and check-ins, I follow your instructions closely, keep dogs secure on leash, and make sure they get the right balance of exercise, attention, and care. I’m attentive, reliable, and treat every pet like my own.
“Molly was amazing! Upon doing meet and greet you could tell she was professional and reliable. She was quick to communicate and great with sending updates. You could tell she really cares about your pets. Will definitely book with Molly again!”

About: I am an experienced dog walker and pre-covid ran a successful in-home dog daycare for 5 years. I have experience working with breeds of all sizes, from your tiny papillon to your huge Great Dane. I’d love the opportunity to walk your dog and/or visit them at home for some social interaction during the day. If you have any questions, I’m here to answer them! I have a flexible schedule that allows me to accommodate a variety of pet care needs. Since I work part-time, I have ample availability throughout the week, including weekends. This means I can easily adapt to your pet’s routine, whether you need regular dog walking or drop-in visits. I’m committed to providing reliable and convenient services to ensure your pets are well taken care of whenever you need assistance. When caring for your pet at your home, my priority is to create a comfortable and familiar environment for them. I’ll ensure they receive plenty of attention, playtime, and exercise while following their routine. For dog walking, I focus on providing an enjoyable and safe experience, adapting to your dog’s energy level and preferences. Whether it’s leisurely strolls or more vigorous adventures, I’m dedicated to keeping your furry friend happy and healthy. Regular updates and communication will keep you informed about how your pet is doing while you’re away.

About: I’ve grown up surrounded by animals and have always loved caring for them, from playful puppies to older pets. I enjoy spending time with dogs, making sure they feel happy, safe, and loved while you’re away. I’m responsible, attentive, and treat every pet like they’re part of my family. I’m currently in school, but I’m free on my days off and weekends, so I’d love to take dogs on walks and spend time with them. I enjoy making sure pups are happy, safe, and having fun while you’re away. When walking dogs, I make sure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for. I follow their usual routines, give them plenty of exercise and attention, and can send updates or photos so owners know their pup is having a great walk.
About: I am a true animal lover and if I could take home all the animals at the shelter, I would! I grew up with dogs and have dog sat for a handful of neighbor dogs. I have volunteered at animal shelters and am always willing to walk or sit for my friends or families' pets. I love all different sizes, shapes and breeds! For dogs that are not able to walk long distances, due to disabilities or other reasons, I am more than happy to cuddle and spend time with them at home! I’m currently searching for a new job so I have a lot of time to play, walk, and cuddle with your dog (if your dog enjoys that)! I make sure I meet all my clients before the first official day working with their dog. I go over all important basics and question, and follow any specific protocols or rules that have.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
