“Kim did a great job with her drop in visits. Millie was very well cared for and we got great communication via texts, pics, and even a video. We really appreciate Kim's professional and caring nature. We will definitely use her in the future.”

“Sarah and Rover was such a good choice for us. 3 catz, each with distinct needs requires a special touch, and Sarah has that, and more! We are 100% satisfied with this service and will use Sarah for our pets again. Kudos to Rover!”

“Chloe took wonderful care of our kitties and was a really great communicator! I knew our cats would be shy at first, but she gained their trust very quickly! The photos she sent were super cute and reassuring for us while we were away. Highly recommend!”

About: I’ve cared for pets of all kinds since I was 10 years old, including dogs, cats, birds, and small mammals. I will provide the best care for your fur babies while keeping their same routine. Whether that means plenty of exercise or just cuddling on the couch, I will make sure your loved ones are taken care of. I am very responsive and communicative, and will always keep you updated throughout their day to give you peace of mind. Having two fur babies myself, I know how daunting it can be leaving them. My goal is to give your pet the same level of care and affection they are used to at home. I am a registered nurse and currently working part time, therefore I have free time during the work week. I am available throughout the week during regular work hours. I will care for your pet like one of my own, and make sure they are comfortable and at ease while you are away. I will make sure their routine and schedule will stay the same for continuity. I also prioritize giving frequent updates so you always have peace of mind.
About: I’ve been taking care of dogs and cats since my early teens. Majority have been my personal pets and have lived very spoiled lives full of lots of love and belly rubs. I’ll be taking online classes at a community college in the fall. Until then, my schedule will be mostly free with a few breaks for spending time with family and my own fur babies. I make it my job to ensure that all pets, whether they are my own or a strangers, have all of the necessities they need such as food, water, and comfort. They’ll be sure to receive lots of love and pets under my care.

I work from home, and I just be on my computer in the mornings, but after I’m done I have so much time to walk dogs, play with them, take them out to potty or anything! About: Hi. I'm Katherine. I have had dogs all of life. I've rescued shelties through NVSR and have taken in many 'street' cats. My last sheltie passed away this spring and while I'm still mourning her too much for a new dog I do desire to shower your pets with affection and make them feel special when you cannot. I'm willing to throw the ball until they are whipped. I'm willing to walk them until they are all tuckered out. My theory has always been that a good dog is a tired dog and a tired dog is a good dog. I've had that 'can't be with them as much as I want' guilt. You can feel confident that they will have the same you you would give them with me. I am currently working part time from home so I have all sorts of time to take good care of your babies when you can't. I will walk and play with your babies in parks, on walks and at the beach. I'm steps away from Dog beach for them to play.
“Liberty was fantastic looking after our pup, Luke! She provided detailed updates and lots of pictures at every check-in. We were really reassured leaving our pup in such good hands. Thanks, Liberty!!”

About: I started doing walking and overnights when I was 7 with the help of my parents and my love for dogs has only grew since then! I now have been in the Veterinary medicine field for 5 years with many years of farm work before then. I’m very good with all types and temperaments of dogs due to my gentle and loving attitude towards animals. I am available 7 days a week 24 hours a day. I am looking forward to meeting you and your furry friend!!! I am currently home full time so I have the availability to do walks, drop ins and sitting at any time. This schedule also allows me extra time to specialize the care and needs of your pet. With my years experience in veterinary medicine I am able to tailor environmental needs to each pet I have the joy of working with. Just let me know their quirks, care needs or special requests and I can make it happen!

“I wanted Day to spend some time with my dogs prior to an extended dog sit. My GSD likes to jump on people who enter the house and gets very excited. Day took charge and let Mira know to get off and waited for her to calm down before proceeding. Both dogs have specific needs ranging from sensitive stomach issues to elderly care issues. Day got to spend time with the dogs while I left them alone to get acquainted. The visit went well. Dogs were snuggled up on the couch with Day upon my return.”

About: I have golden retriever energy. There hasn’t been an animal I couldn’t handle. I have been training and taking care of animals since I was a kid! I am currently in school but work 4x a week. M-f but the day off changes, but I’ll be off by 5! Let me know what you need and I can work it out😬 I try my best to make all pets feel as comfortable as possible. I will love your fur baby as they are my own. You’re in good hands
About: I’ve had dogs of my own my whole life. I’ve been taking care of others’ dogs for many years. I have experience with various breeds and sizes. Willing to do occasional jobs or recurring ones. I had to put set prices into my profile, but willing to discuss. I’m currently working part time and have a very flexible schedule. I am available any weekday and, with notice, can be available on weekends as well. I do not provide care in my home, but would love to come to your home where your dogs are most comfortable. I will provide any care needed- letting out in a fenced yard, taking for walks, feeding, administering meds, etc.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
