“Kim did a great job with her drop in visits. Millie was very well cared for and we got great communication via texts, pics, and even a video. We really appreciate Kim's professional and caring nature. We will definitely use her in the future.”

“Erin was so awesome! She was a great communicator, sent great pictures and kept us updated on every visit. She took good care of our pup and made sure she was comfortable and happy!”
“Chloe took wonderful care of our kitties and was a really great communicator! I knew our cats would be shy at first, but she gained their trust very quickly! The photos she sent were super cute and reassuring for us while we were away. Highly recommend!”

“Really appreciated Mackenzie looking after my 2 cats while we were on vacation! She kept me updated on when she dropped in and when I got home everything was exactly as I wanted! Will definitely have her back :)”
About: I’ve taken care of cats and dogs since I was young including friends’ and my own. I had 2 dogs and 3 cats growing up. Once I graduated college, I adopted my own pup, Bagel! I currently work full-time, Monday through Friday, so I am available in the evenings. I am available most weekends as well to care for your furry friends! My friends and family rely on me to visit their cats and dogs at home, walk them, feed them, bathe them, play with them, and more! This includes several of my geriatric family pets who require more attention and medication administration.
“Jasmine has helped take care of our puppy through dog walking, drop in visits, and house sitting over the last year. She is trustworthy, dependable, and truly cares about our puppy. Gracie loves her! Whether it’s a drop in visit or a weekend of house sitting, Jasmine leaves detailed notes on how our puppy is doing. She also takes great pictures and videos! Jasmine cleaned up accidents when they happened, and was so understanding when our puppy was sick. She is easy to communicate with, and is clearly experienced with animals. I highly recommend her to take care of your pet.”

About: I’ve always had dogs in my life. Whether it be mine (Kam, Corky, Nappy) or my kids. I am a caring and compassionate individual and look forward to caring for your baby as my own. I work remote typically Monday to Friday. I am flexible with my work location as long as there is good wifi connectivity for me to use. Thanks. I do not offer in my home service but would be happy to care in your place. I’m not a fan of crating but respect the tough nature of each owners decision.
“Isabelle did a great job caring for our dog, cat, and rabbit. She took the time to make sure they were well cared for and happy and gave us updates all along the way. Would highly recommend!”

Friends would describe me as kind, trustworthy and energetic! You will be assured that your furry friend is in safe hands with me; whether it’s for a walk or dog sitting. I am very caring and patient and will ensure your loved one is in great hands at all times. I wfh and do software sales full time. I cannot wait to help you and make your pet feel right at home with me! I’m currently working full time from home and have a very flexible schedule overall. The weekends are more often than not very flexible too with enough notice! I live in a large townhouse and have plenty of room for your furry friend (s) here! The complex has lots of walking paths and even a large fenced in dog park I can take them too! I work from home so will be alongside your furry friend for the vast majority of the day. I am OK with pets on the bed and couches, ect. Can use a crate as needed per pet. I’m very attentive and loving when it comes to your furry friend. I have no other pets of my own. The townhouse does have a fenced in backyard to roam around in as well!
“Kaitlyn took phenomenal care of my anxious pittie after she had major dental work and two mast cell tumors removed. She’s knowledgeable, compassionate, and detail oriented! I highly recommend!!”

About: What sets me apart from other pet sitters is my experience caring for dogs of all sizes, breeds, and ages. I have cared for large dogs, such as Labs and Pit Bulls, as well as smaller breeds like Pomeranians, Pugs, and mixed breeds. I also have experience caring for senior dogs and pets with special dietary needs or medications. I am patient, responsible, and attentive to each dog's individual needs, and I strive to make every pet feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I have a flexible schedule and am currently studying online, which allows me to work from almost anywhere. I love going on walks, especially after a meal, and having a furry companion makes them even better! My flexible lifestyle allows me to make time for your pet’s needs, whether that means walks, playtime, feeding, or simply keeping them company. I love being able to incorporate pet care into my day while making sure your pet feels loved, comfortable, and cared for. I provide pet care in the comfort of your own home, whether through drop-in visits, dog walking, or other care your pet may need. I understand that inviting someone into your home requires trust, and I take that responsibility seriously. My family has always taught me to leave a place better than I found it, and I carry that value with me in everything I do. I will treat your home and belongings with the same care and respect I would want someone to show my own. I also understand that I’m not just caring for a pet; I’m caring for a beloved member of your family. I want you to feel confident knowing your pet is in caring, attentive hands and is being looked after in the familiar environment you’ve trusted me with. My goal is to maintain your pet’s routine, respect your home, and make sure both you and your pet feel comfortable and at ease while you’re away.

“Anum quickly became loved by our 4 dogs and 2 cats. She easily remembered all the details of their feeding and schedule. She fed the entire crew and kept them all happy during a long Easter Weekend. Our emotionally needy GSP and barky Aussie became good friends with Anum. Even our very shy dog came out of her shell !”

“From the moment we did our meet and greet with Preston (which he accommodated last minute) we knew our babies would be safely watched over. Preston has a calm demeanor and is passionate about animals. He does his research and was nice to work with! He responded to all our messages and sent updated pics/videos. Our pups were happy and safe. Thank you!”

About: I’ve had dogs of my own my whole life. I’ve been taking care of others’ dogs for many years. I have experience with various breeds and sizes. Willing to do occasional jobs or recurring ones. I had to put set prices into my profile, but willing to discuss. I’m currently working part time and have a very flexible schedule. I am available any weekday and, with notice, can be available on weekends as well. I do not provide care in my home, but would love to come to your home where your dogs are most comfortable. I will provide any care needed- letting out in a fenced yard, taking for walks, feeding, administering meds, etc.
About: I have 2 rescue pitbulls at home and have a grandma that takes in rescue dogs freqently so I’ve been around dogs of all shapes and sizes my entire life! I no longer live at home so don’t get to see the pups as often in my new house and miss getting time around dogs but not quite ready for having my own. My job is remote and flexible as of right now so i’m happy to help and can move around a lot during the day to help. I have a big back yard and live near multiple parks and would be able to take them on many walks. I am also willing to spend and hangout at others houses for as much time as possible.

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
