“I could not be more pleased with the care that my italian greyhound, Zeus, received when in Annette's care for the first time over this weekend. Zeus warmed up to her immediately, which is unusual for him. I received multiple photos during his stay and he appeared very content and happy. What a feeling of comfort knowing he was with someone who provided the same level of care that I do, or very possibly better. A magnificent experience!”

“Saori has been so patient and caring with our Pomsky puppy. Since we work from home, I was concerned he wasn’t socializing enough and of course he has lots of energy. Daycare with Saori will be a big help in our journey together. We got really lucky finding her right from the start.”

“Jeff took excellent care of my girls! Drip off was efficient and my dogs were immediately comfortable. I received pictures every day to see they were happy and enjoying their stay. Pick up was well organized. I’m so happy we found Jeff on River! My girls will definitely stay with him again.”

“Great experience from beginning to end. It was our first time leaving Gigi with a sitter. Dew kept us updated and sent photos, which was a great comfort to us. Will definitely use her again.”

“Erika was the best. I am so happy I found her. i have been looking for a new dog sitter close to where I live to make it easier. Max seemed to fit right in and did well. He looked happy and content. There were a few other dogs there, but they seem to all have gotten along quite well. Very pleased and highly recommend her. I will be using Erika again in the near future.”

“We left our Boston Terrier, George, with Nicole for two weeks. Throughout our vacation, Nicole sent updates and photos to let us know how he was doing. He looked quite happy in all the photos, and the updates helped me to not worry. Upon our return, George was very excited to see me, and did not show any signs of being stressed during his stay. He seems to have been well cared for. I am very pleased with Nicole and her care for George. We’ll be booking her again in January for another two weeks.”

“Rich was an amazing and attentive caretaker. We got updates everyday with photos. Rich’s house is a dogs paradise and we felt so happy knowing our pup was well cared for and having such a great time with the other pups. 10/10!! We would definitely recommend Rich to anyone looking to have their dog taken care of while away. We had a delayed flight on our way home and Rich was super communicative and accommodating. Couldn’t be happier and will definitely be using him again in the future!”

“I am so happy to have found Clementina. She is lovely and warm and took such very good care of Ezzy. She has a huge backyard and a dogpark nearby and Ezzy got great exercise daily. She sent me lots of pics and was flexible and accommodating when I asked if Ezzy could stay a little longer than I had planned. Her daughter also was there and Ezzy kissed everyone goodbye when we left and wagged furiously. 5 stars.”

“Stephen is a super care taker, for sure. Great and timely communications, friendly and very accommodating for a last minute request. Made the whole experience of looking after my Gracie seamless and easy.”

“This is my second time having my fur baby with Sue. It was a much longer visit this time (a week) amd Sue remained her kind communicative self. Would recommend in a heartbeat. She goes above and beyond. Thank you! 💕”

“Rachael was helpful, communicative, trustworthy and responsive - she made the process a breeze and took great care of our dog. Everyday I was sent photos of her running, playing, exploring and having fun. Pepper even came back with sharpened training — I will be booking again and again!”

“Athena, watched my two pups for 5 days! She was great, she came to pick up and drop the pups. She sent me daily photos and updates of them! Very friendly and my pups spent a great time with her! I highly recommend!”

“We are so grateful for the amazing care you gave Cloud while we were away! You went above and beyond—keeping us updated the whole time and sending the sweetest pictures that truly put our mind at ease. It was clear he was in great hands. Til next time!”

“I've used Veronica at least a couple times at this point and she has been nothing less thank fantastic. She has been fantastic at communication, great at scheduling room, and took amazing care of my Mika! Definitely bwill contact her again and I would encourage anyone to do the same.”

“Ryan EXCEEDED my expectations! He has an intuitive way with dogs. He is very knowledgable about dogs & dog behavior. Ryan is the real deal-- a true animal lover & kind, decent human being. He communicated well with pics and updates during my dog's visit. During our initial meeting I felt an instant rapport he had with my dog that put me at ease. His home is VERY dog-centric! The visiting dogs are not confined and are free to mingle and find their own place to relax. There are ample dog beds, couches, human beds and floor space for lounging and sleeping. I especially appreciate that Ryan limits the number of dogs he boards at one time to a very small group, & makes sure they vibe well together beforehand. The living space Ryan and his boarders occupy is all on one level, which is great for my dog with arthritis. There is a wooded trail for walks adjoining the yard, and a guest bedroom if a dog needs some quiet alone time. I would HIGHLY recommend Ryan and I plan to use him again!”

“Jessica was great! Willow seemed like she loved staying there, was well taken care of and met some new friends. Very responsive to any questions that we had. We would love to have Jessica watch her again. Overall this was great as this is our first time using Rover.”

“Jessica was great at watching Gwen! She was able to accommodate our last-minute request after another sitter cancelled. She was very communicative about Gwen’s stay and sent plenty of photos and updates. She took great care of our little pup!”

“Valerie & her family were wonderful with our 5 month old puppy. Her house & property are very well kept & great for pets. Valerie put me at ease with her messages while we were away. I will use her again.”

“This was my first time using Rover and I couldn't have asked for a more perfect experience. Mildred and her family treated my dog as one of their own for the few days that he was there and when I picked him up, I felt like I was part of the family as well. I got photos regularly and I knew that everything went perfect. I will 100% book again. I can tell that my dog made new friends so even if I don't need to board him overnight again, I know that I can drop him off to hang out with his new friends. I prefer this option over boarding/daycare at a facility where your pets may not get the same level of attention and care. 10/10 Recommend!”

Annette is really great. I appreciated the regular communication and pictures sent. This was the first time we had to leave our dog this long, and she managed to hurt herself just before the trip. Annette eased my worries and followed through on taking good care of her. She came home more calm than she had left. I will be calling her again when needed. Thanks so much Annette!

Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
