“Anthony was great with our dog Nelli! He was a great communicator. He gave Nelli lots of snuggles and great care. I will ask him to come again, we were very happy and grateful for his services!”

About: My initial professional experience with animals was working at an animal hospital where I took care of dogs and cats. This work formed my adult fondness for pet care. As a teenager I had several cats and dogs in my household, and I was responsible for taking care of all of them. More recently, I have engaged in dog sitting and have been a pet-parent for the past 15 years. I am very flexible as far as my weekly routine is concerned, so I can accommodate just about any pet sitting request on very short notice. I am available for pet-sitting in your home so that your dog and/or cat (I also take care of fish) remains as comfortable as possible in the environment they are most familiar with.
“Amie is the best! Perfect communication, responsive, always sends photos and is on schedule. Sometimes I wonder of my cats like her more than me!!! Amie is reliable and an overall kind and loving person and I’m grateful to have her to rely on.”

“Morgan was great as always! She took great care of our fur babies. She even cleaned out the food dishes when they were empty. Love having her come take care of our babies.”

“Danielle is just awesome! She took so great care of our dogs at her house and dropped in at our house to care for our cats. It was the most relaxed vacation we have had in a long time as we never had a worry about any one of our animals the entire time. The search is over, she is now our go to sitter!!”

“Farrell came and helped take Jaxon out and care for him while I was away and she did a fantastic job! Great at communicating, sharing photos and updates. 100% would book her again!”

“Heather was so wonderful with our dogs! She even came over for a meet and greet a few days before to make sure she knew the ins and outs of their care! My dogs are high energy and she wasn’t phased at all, handled them so well with so much care!”
“This was my first business trip, first time being away from my dog, and very last minute. I reached out to four potential sitters in the area. Of those four, two responded, and of those two only Jennifer could accommodate my request on such short notice. Jennifer took care of my dog as if he was her own. I didn’t have to worry at all while I was gone as Jennifer sent photos and videos at every visit. I couldn’t have asked for a better pet sitter and I highly recommend her.”

“Erin goes above and beyond with her service. I’ve had her take care of my dogs multiple times and am always happy and my expectations are exceeded (and I’m picky!) with the care they receive.”

“Lexie was amazing! Super communication and was always on time to the requested stop-ins. You could tell how much Lexie truly cared for our dog and I was so pleased to leave our dogs care in her hands. I loved all the report cards and pictures as well! We will definitely be rebooking with Lexie in the future when needed.”

About: I have a little self-proclaimed homestead with 2 German Shepherds, 2 indoor cats, 3 outdoor barn cats, chickens, and honeybees. My dogs love to run and play outside, so I provide toys to keep them engaged. They love it when I chase them around the yard and play too! They're not big fans of bathtime but we've got to keep them clean! My cats are very high maintenance but I wouldn't have it any other way. Our outdoor kitties are very adventurous! I enjoy finding toys and food they'll love and grooming them. My furbabies require a lot of love and attention, I adore them all and would love to spread some TLC out to the cats, dogs, and any critters in my community. I love caring for all animals! I am constantly caring for my own fur babies morning and night, but I would love to help you out on the weekends as my availability allows! When I am at a clients home, I really like to respect their wishes and care for their animals as they would. I try to go over as many details as possible as far as where they can go on the property and if they prefer the pup to be on a leash or not.
About: I am available in the evenings and weekends so I can be with your pets at all time and tend to their needs. I have owned dogs my whole life as well as cats. I have also grown up on a farm so I am very comfortable caring for large farm animals as well. I have 2 dogs of my own who are both very dog friendly and 1 cat who sometimes thinks she's a dog but doesn't care for other cats as she was attacked by other cats before we took her in. I love all animals and breeds don't matter to me. Your fur child will be treated and cared for like they are my own! I do not have a fenced in yard but I do have long leads, go for walks and go to the dog parks frequently so your pet would get plenty of exercise.
“Jayci was great! We booked her on short notice and she was available to look after our dog while we were away for a long weekend. She played with Olaf, took him for walks, and helped him eat as he usually refuses food while we are gone. We are very pleased with how she took care of our dog!”

“Maycie was phenomenal with our animals and we’ve already requested to have her watch them again later this month! She was responsive, followed our instructions, and sent pictures of her time with our pets. My mother is the only other person that has ever watched our pets and when she moved away recently, I was very concerned about finding someone we could trust with our babies - Maycie completely alleviated my fears and we look forward to more trips in the near future knowing our pets are in good hands!”

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
