About: I understand the individual needs of each pet, and I am very particular about abiding by the owners specifications. I don't want your pet to feel any more uncomfortable than they have to. I take their comfort and well being as my #1 priority! I have ALWAYS been in love with dogs. In fact, for some reason, stray dogs always find me and claim my home as theirs. I respect your love and care for your pet the same way I would want someone to do for mine. I have a Shiba Inu who is 12, and just recently had my beloved great pyranese pass. I love all animals like my kids and will treat yours the same way. With tons of love and so much care. I am currently working part time so I have plenty of time to dedicate to your pets and will provide whatever care and attention they need! For drop-ins, walks, and overnight house sits, I treat every home like my own — respecting routines, keeping things tidy, and making sure your pet feels safe and comfortable the whole time you're away. I stick closely to whatever schedule you set for feeding, potty breaks, medication, or playtime, and I always keep an eye out for any signs something's off so I can let you know right away. During visits I focus on making sure your pet gets real attention, not just a quick check-in — walks, playtime, cuddles, whatever they're into. I send updates and photos so you can relax knowing everything's on track at home. I have pets of my own, so I understand how much they mean to you, and I treat your dog with the same care and patience I'd want for mine

About: I’ve grown up taking care of our family dogs and took a bigger responsibility when my parents would go on vacation. I’ve also done home boarding for family friends and neighbors. I’m currently a student at NAU, but will fit in whatever you need necessary. My job will be to make worrying about your pet less stressful and making sure they get the attention they bark for. I will follow all your obligations or routines you have set for your animal. I have a cat of my own and make sure that she gets the best care, so I will do the same for yours.

About: I’ve always had dogs my whole life, including my childhood dog Gordon, and my current dog Maestro. I’ve bathed them, fed them, and picked up their poop lol. Both have been injured and I nurtured both of them to health. I take great care and have an enormous love for animals, and I understand the trust needed in those who care for your pets. I want to be that person for you :) I currently work part time, so I’ll have a good amount of time to spend with your fluffy companions. I have a slightly irregular work schedule so communication is super important for me in figuring out good times for me to watch your pets! Let’s talk about it :) Like I was saying before, I absolutely adore animals and I’m currently in college studying forestry to one day protect the animals in the wild. I will always offer love and affection, bring them a toy or two, and maybe even some treats. Your pet will not miss out on the attention while you’re gone, I promise!

About: I have always had pets and pet sit/ house sit all through growing up. When I came to college I missed my animals so bad that I started volunteering at the humane society! There I walk dogs, play with pupping and the cats. I’m so excited to make extra money and meet some more new animals! I work 8:30-5 so it’s long hours but part time. I plan on accepting bookings that don’t need lunch visits on days that I work. However many days out of the week I don’t work and I am available for lunch visits. I plan to give the animals the attention and attitude they need to feel most comfortable while their family is gone! I love clingy animals but I can also give them space when needed!

About: My first time house sitting was on my family friends farm. There were three cats, two dogs, many chickens, two pigs(during certain seasons), and many goats two in which I milked every morning. This was hard work but I loved it! I work a fit schedule in the mornings so I almost always have the afternoon off to go on walks or anything else. I am also a huge reader so for animas that love to cuddle I feel like that is perfect. For dogs, always having a way to get to the backyard(if it is safe for the dog to be outside unsupervised). Always having water in the water bowl and being aware of what the dog needs, like cuddles, play time, and food of course. For cats, always bring a calm space so that they are not overwhelmed or frightened. Then seeing what they want to do. Nap, play, or create mischief. And always having food and water available

I love dogs of all ages but especially know the care it takes for senior dogs. I am a full time student at the community college in town but am able to check in on pets frequently during the day. I am also able to do overnight care. I currently have a cat who loves to get into everything. I make sure areas with cleaning supplies, food, and anything dangerous are blocked of while still providing a safe and stimulating environment for the little guy.

About: I have over ten years of experience with many different types of animals and I know a lot of different techniques to approaching animals that might be scared or more difficult to take care of. I am a college student back for summer break and I don’t have a job currently so I am available 24/7. I can work every day of the week and have access to transportation so I am available to drive to the animals at anytime. I can drive anywhere at any time and take animals to different places if needed. I will make sure they are well fed and watered as well as taken for walks or played with to keep them active and if they need any extra help I am more than willing to take those steps to ensure they get it.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Parks on Rover is $79.17 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 238 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Parks. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Parks walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Parks maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Parks choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Parks. On Rover:

  • 85% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
