We ultimately made the decision to send the dogs to her house instead of having her do drop in visits, and we are so glad we did! “We had our two basset hounds stay with Susan for a long weekend. our big girl is about 52 lbs and our other is not yet 5 months old (approx 25 lbs). This was the puppy's first time away from home, and I am the ultimate paranoid pet owner. I hate leaving my dogs with sitters, and it can be especially nerve wracking to leave them with someone you don't know personally. After reading all of Susan's glowing reviews, I decided to give it a try. I could not have been more relieved when she started sending me tons of pictures and videos of all the fun my dogs were having at her house. I obviously had nothing to worry about. Her questionnaire is quite thorough. I even provided extra breed specific info that she carefully read and asked questions about. Susan obviously treats all the dogs she watches as if they are her own, and gave them more attention than they even get at home. I actually think our dogs were a little depressed when we had to pick them up and take them home. Susan's own family dog is quite used to having lots of new friends around, and the other dogs in her care at the time all got along well with my dogs. It was a great socialization experience for our puppy. Susan has a huge fenced in back yard in a really great neighborhood. Her little boy was so sweet with our dogs too; our puppy was so excited to see him when he came in the room. We needn't have worried at all about our escape artist hounds running away. When we brought them home it was like they were coming home from summer camp... they wanted to sleep in all day the next morning. They can't wait to go back, and we would be happy to bring them back!
