“Fantastic job as always! I’ve booked Agnes to watch my cat twice while I was on vacation and she does an excellent job. When I come home my cat is always happy and healthy.”

“Karen was fantastic! She has a heart for animals that’s obvious from the minute she walks in the door. Shes a great communicator- I got great pictures and communication about each visit beyond the updates about his food, what he did outside and his temperament when she arrived. On the day of the meet and greet, she was going to be 1 minute late but let me know. It was such a relief to know I was leaving my senior dog in great hands! I recommend her highly. You won’t be disappointed.”

“Deanna continues to be my go-to cat sitter for multiple trips out of town. She is communicative, dependable, and trustworthy, and always does an amazing job caring for my cat while letting me know all is well! Thanks for another great experience, Deanna!”

“Clarissa was amazing with my 3 dogs. She played, loved them and kept everyone on track with their schedules. We will definitely be using her again. Especially since my big dog actually warmed up to her, and that's unusual for him.”

“This was our second booking with Rachael and we could not be happier! She goes above and beyond every time and we leave knowing our babies are being well cared for and loved.”

“Wow! Finding Angelique was a blessing. She is a dog lover, friendly, punctual, and went the extra-mile caring for our senior poodle. We highly recommend her and hope we can book her again soon...if you haven’t!”

“Juliette has been just wonderful to work with! We are truly thankful to have found her and our Rottweiler agrees!! Our most recent experience with Juliette was to provide 3 check-in visits over two days, including at meal time and bedtime. Juliette showed up right on time and spent a full 30 minutes with our boy each time, making sure he was comfortable and all his needs were met! She is reliable, dependable, communicates well, and is great with our 11 year old Rotty! Thank you again, Juliette!!”

“I had a great experience with Raysa watching my cats over the weekend. She was very friendly, reliable, and clearly loves animals. She took excellent care of my cats, making sure they were well-fed, comfortable, and happy. I really appreciated that she took the time to play with them during her visits — it gave me peace of mind knowing they were getting attention and care while I was away. I would absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy pet sitter!”

About: I have been a pet parent my entire adult life. I currently have two dogs and two cats. Our cats, Bella & Nico, were adopted from a rescue situation and both have asthma. Our dogs, Spike and Snuggles, were also rescued. Our 6 year old, Spike, came from a kill shelter. He has been a tremendous work in progress. He takes anxiety medication daily and is improving everyday. The same care and compassion I have given to my own pets I will happily share with yours. I am off in the summer and have open availability. Outside of the summer I also have a flexible schedule after 3pm and am available on the weekend. I am available to come to your home to provide all of your pet care needs. In home care, dog walking and overnight care services are available.
“Messaged me a lot of updates and videos. It’s great to know someone is following the suggestions to keep your overactive border collie happy. Did everything asked and even put the toys back they played with”

“Due to bad weather, I was away a day longer than I had planned. I reached out to Lacey and she took on the extra visits. My kitties love her and she sends such great photos!”

About: I have been a devoted mom, grandma, and pet parent for a long time. Now that I am off grandma daycare duty and my pets have crossed over the rainbow bridge, I’m ready to become your pet’s bestie, grandma, exercise buddy, or treat lady. I currently have a limited clientele in the neighborhood, including letting dogs out to pee, going on walks, and daytime/overnight sitting. A little bit about why I am “the one:” My life has been devoted to caring for others. I retired from the healthcare field to take care of my grandkids, who went to elementary school and left me behind. My very dear dog (Sammy) and cat (Irene) grew old with me until they got their wings. I am at my best when I’m taking care of others, whether they have tails or not. I spend my time walking with humans and dogs, many of whom enjoy my humor and choice of dog biscuit variety. I love to garden in my fenced yard, preferably with a dog nearby laying in a sunny spot. With no pets or little kids in the house, I enjoy relaxing by the tv sharing some healthy snacks with a pup or cat, giving them the attention they deserve. Although I do run out still for the occasional kid transport, I am not usually away for long and always back in time for a good meal or a stroll. While I am retired, I do still help out with the grandkids here and there. I’m typically never away long. I walk 1-3 times a day, sometimes through the neighborhood and sometimes on a path. I love the extra company of a pup! When visiting my home, your pets can enjoy many comfortable features and experiences from laying on a nice cool tile floor to cozying up in a bed with a warm blanket, running around my fenced backyard, watching the fish swim in the small pond, going for a morning and evening walk on a path, and watching some nighttime tv. While I typically gate off some rooms for canine visitors, there is plenty of indoor space to explore while they find their favorite room or sunny spot. Depending on your pet’s age or preference in chewing things, I may gate off specific areas to deter chewing and peeing. I am happy to accommodate communication or even a short video chat between you and your pet.
“Hannah was phenomenal! Our original sitter called out less than a week before a 10 day trip, and we needed someone twice a day for our cat who needs insulin. She took wonderful care insuring Luna ate before her insulin dose, played with Arya, and provided wonderful photos and even videos while we were away. Hannah was willing to water our vegetables and take the trash out as well. She went above and beyond cleaning things up (cats threw up and peed outside the litterbox too!) and keeping everything tidy. We could not be more pleased and look forward to working with her again. Truly, a great professional sitter. Thanks so much Hannah!”

“Danielle did an excellent job in a challenging situation. Our old and arthritic dog refused to go outside and Danielle was nothing short of heroic in her efforts to get her into the back yard. Our cats were well cared for and just fine when we arrived home. In fact our dog was also in the best of spirits when we arrived home. We feel that Danielle was professional and wonderfully supportive. Would defiantly book with her again!”
About: I have been involved with animals my entire life. From chinchillas & guinea pigs, to dogs & cats I have provided a home and care to all. My love for animals is so strong that I chose to make caring for them my career as I am a professional dog groomer. My number one priority is to provide comfort and safety to each and every creature I meet. My moto: Eat, breathe, sleep, animals :) I make my own schedule for my full time job as a dog groomer. I also have the ability to bring my dogs with me to work :) I also have 3-4 days off each week so I am flexible. I treat each and every pet as if they were apart of our family. I am certified in pet cpr & first aid and have extensive experience in administering medication. Respect and safety are of upmost importance.

About: I’ve been around dogs and cats my whole life. I’ve done all the chores that come with them. I’ve had a big dog and a little dog almost my entire life. My big dog is now older, so I have to help him with his arthritis. I’ve had to pick up poop, feed them, walk them, and massage him. I don’t have a job currently, so I’m free for anyone’s convenience! Besides when I have to go to the gym, or when im on vacation. I have a fenced yard and a specific place for them to use the bathroom outside, and also have a pee pee pad inside that I switch out twice a day.
“Miah is fantastic! We can trust our pets are well taken care of. She is reliable and responsive and we can recommend her for a drop by or overnight sit. She will be our go-to sitter when we need to be gone.”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Palmer Heights
Karen was great with my 3 kitties! We recently moved so they're very much so still in transition mode. Karen gave them the space they needed while making sure their needs were met, and they warmed up to her quicker than I've ever seen with other people! I would not hesitate to book Karen again!

Hannah is an absolutely fantastic cat sitter. She took such great care of our cats and gave us real peace of mind while we were away. When we had a concern about the cats possibly getting into something, she didn’t hesitate to come over and check on them right away, which we really appreciated. It’s clear she genuinely cares about the animals she’s watching. We have used Hannah multiple times and plan to use her every time we go away. We would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, attentive, and compassionate sitter!

Our stay with Danielle through Rover was wonderful. I can honestly say our cats may have fallen in love with her! While our cats are usually not shy, they immediately treated Danielle like part of the family and loved her daily visits. Our male cat even sat on her lap every day and enjoyed chewing on her ponytail. We were a little embarrassed by his show of affection, but it was clear he had good reason. It’s easy to see why she’s one of Rover’s favorites. We would wholeheartedly recommend her for any cat—or any other animal—because she is a true animal lover.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Palmer Heights. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
