“Landa is great! She is very prompt and responsible when it comes to getting to our cats to make sure they don't go hungry! She always manages to get them playing for a little and sends extremely cute photos. With just have moving to Denver we were anxious to find a perfect cat sitter for us and we are pleased to have found that so quickly.”

“Rebecca was absolutely awesome! She did an initial call to review all the details. She was super punctual and even cleaned up the kitty litter when it got messy. Very communicative and took good care of my two kitties. I will definitely be booking her again!”

“Lalaine and Ian were great with my kitty ST! They showered her with attention and went above and beyond with communication and with everything else (bringing in packages, cleaning up hairballs, etc). I felt very comfortable having them in my home and I know ST just loved them. Will definitely book again!”

“Izzy was very sweet meeting Max for the first time. Max went right to her like an old friend and I trust his judgement of humans. Excellent communications leading up to our appointment. Will definitely rebook.”

“Daisy is doing daily drop ins with my 2 dogs, 5 days a week. At the end of our first week, I’m very impressed with her and will continue to rebook her. She sends comprehensive daily updates and photos on each pup and has been very observant, bringing to my attention a bump on my dog’s neck and that one of their water bowls might need to be moved to prevent spills. Dogs seem to have taken to her well and I’m so relieved to have found her. 2 thumbs up and 5 gold stars!”

About: I’ve had a deep love for animals my entire life, and I find great joy in caring for and training dogs. For the past 5 years, I’ve worked as a professional service dog trainer and am a certified Guide Dog Mobility Instructor. I strive to provide compassionate individualized care and training to each dog that I care for. I love going out for adventures and will gladly bring your pup along with me! Please have your dog updated on their flea treatment prior to adventuring with me so we can have the most fun together. If the weather is nasty, your pup can expect a day filled with snuggles, Nylabone chewing, puzzle toys, scent games throughout the house, and some basic obedience training. I’m also happy to provide additional training if requested at additional cost. I have a very flexible work schedule, so I have ample time to care for and play with your furry friend! Some weekends I am out of town, so it’s best to book in advance for boarding. I’m happy to stay in your home while you’re away so your pup can remain comfortable in their home environment. I love taking dogs out for long walks or on adventures nearby if they’re up for it. I prefer to bring my dog along with me if that’s possible, but not required. My dog is a medium sized mixed breed named Mulee. He loves having dog friends to play with and gets along with just about everyone he meets!

I am good at following directions for care given to me or written down and am fine to spend a day alone save for a menagerie of animals. “Bela was awesome and our Rocky dog loved her! We had to be gone for the day and she stayed with Rocky, an 8 month old energetic Goldendoodle puppy. There was a lot of playtime and she sent fun pictures to us throughout the day. We highly recommend her, but act quickly - she books up fast!”

“This was a first meeting between Austin and our two girls. Koloa is a super outgoing and loves meeting new people so meeting Austin was no problem for her. Phoebe is more anxious about meeting new people but she warmed up to him quite quickly. I am sure we will definitely be seeing a lot of Austin in the future!!”

About: Use my PROMO CODE: LAUREH40631 to receive $20 OFF your first booking! I’ve had the opportunity to care for and be surrounded by cats and dogs most of my life. Living and renting in Hawai’i, we weren’t always able to have dogs in our household, but definitely cats ever since I can remember growing up. As an adult, I have been fortunate enough to have 2 fur babies (dogs) of my own which I absolutely adore and think of as my other children. They are both rescues and have truly made my life better. My heart is with rescues, but I have experience with different breeds and sizes. Besides my own children, animals are what makes me the happiest! I work a full-time job, but I’m fortunate to have evenings and weekends off. I’m available to check-in on your babies during the weekdays before 7am and anytime after 3pm. Weekends, holidays and summers I’m open! I have a fully fenced yard with a full front and backyard as well as 2 friendly rescues of my own. They love to have fun with other dogs!

“Shani has been an amazing sitter for our cats! She always puts so much effort into giving them attention and making sure they're entertained. I love getting her photos and updates on our kitties and it gave us peace of mind while we were away. Even when we had special care requirements (medication, feeding) she handled it perfectly!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Pahoa
Landa did an outstanding job. She covered all the bases that we had discussed and kept us up to date every time we inquired about our baby girl. When we arrived home Nani was so calm and relaxed as if she wanted us to know that her experience with her new friend Landa had gone super well. We will have no hesitation about having Landa come again for drop-in visits. She was very thorough and considerate.

Ashley was absolutely wonderful! Was here everyday taking care of our baby, and letting us know how she was and giving her belly rubs, which Briscuit loved! Briscuit loved Ashley! Not only would I hire Ashley again but I would highly advise anyone who needs a caring, reliable carer to contact her for their beloved furbabies. Thank you Ashley, you were a joy.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Pahoa. On Rover:

- 87% can help with daily exercise

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
