“Gina was amazing! We had no idea how wonderful a sitter could be until we came across Gina. Not only did she take amazing care of our fur babies, but she also cared for us! Any concerns we may have had were addressed before we even had them. Her communication is top notch, we knew everything our dogs were up to as she provided frequent updates, photos and videos. I swear our dogs FINALLY learned how to play tug-o-war from her. I’m the 7 years we have had them they never grasped the concept until they spent time with Gina and her fabulous dog Sydney (who became fast friends with our dogs). Would recommend Gina 1000%!! Actually considering scheduling a trip just to get her back ❤️❤️”

“Ambrosia took very good care of my little Baxter. She was very responsive and sent me pictures throughout the evening. We will definately ask her to babysit Baxter again.”

“Bethanie took great care of my 4 year old cavapoo Lucy on a 4 day housesit! She sent updates and pictures each day (including of my girl snuggled up in bed with her), reassuring me that Lucy was doing well. She was flexible with my schedule and asks and my home looked just like it did when I left! Thanks Bethanie 🖤”

About: I had several dogs when i was in high school. I worked in a dog daycare so I'm used to watching 8 to 17 dogs at once. I also learned about dog behavior so I'm very comfortable around all types of dogs. I'm doing Rover full-time so I will have lots of time to spend giving your best friend all the belly rubs and pets they desire! I have 2 bunnies and a corgi at home and I always make sure they have lots of love and attention and that's what I'll do for your fur baby!

“We did a walk-through with Audrey before the stay, she came in a timely manner, enjoyed the conversation and she answered any questions I had. Last minute our plans changed from an overnight stay to just drop in visit and she accommodated the changes. During her visit she updated us by sharing photos of Ellouise. I would recommend her, as well as will be using her in the future”

“Once again Nick took amazing care of our home and dogs. We wouldn’t trust anyone else with this most important job. Nick is communicative, trustworthy, responsible and professional. As a repeat client, he feels like family now!”

About: I’ve cared for dogs of all sizes and temperaments—no pup too big or small! I’ve also walked cats, administered meds, brushed teeth, and provided loving care for seniors. Whether it’s feeding, playtime, or just keeping your pet company, I’m experienced and happy to help. My fenced yard offers safe outdoor time, and I treat every animal like family. I currently have full availability and offer flexible, reliable care for your pets! I’m available for boarding, drop-ins, walks, daycare, and more—even same-day appointments. I do have little ones at home, so we may step out briefly for park outings, but never for long. Your pet will still get plenty of love, attention, and care while you’re away! Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. My home is dog/cat - friendly, with a securely fenced yard, located on a quiet, low-traffic street. I clean with pet-safe products to ensure a healthy environment. If I’m caring for your pet in your home, I’ll treat your space with the same respect and care as I do my own. You can rest easy knowing your pet is in safe, loving hands.
“Vanya was beyond amazing while staying at our house and watching our dog and two cats! She sent multiple pictures/updates throughout the days we were away and went above and beyond to keep our house clean and our pets happy. We will definitely be using Vanya in the future for as long as she will have us!”

“Because of a family emergency that took us out state, Jeremiah stepped up and took care of our fur babies with very little notice. He stayed at our house overnight with our pets. He sent daily photos of both our pets and answered any questions we had. When we got home, our babies were happy and the house was clean. We would absolutely hire Jeremiah again!”

“Emily is a SuperHero! She accepted our last minute booking to care for our highly anxious rescue pup overnight. Chloe bonded with her quickly (a miracle in itself) and spent the next full day on great walks and much back yard play time with a ball. We are literally amazed as Emily is the first non family member that Chloe allowed into her trust circle.”

About: Hi, I'm Taylor! Animals have always been a huge part of my life, and since 2018 I've been fortunate enough to turn that passion into a career caring for pets professionally. Over the years, I've had the opportunity to work at two specialized pet care facilities. One focused exclusively on dogs, where I cared for pups of every breed, size, age, and personality in both daycare and boarding. The other specialized in cats and small animals, giving me hands-on experience caring for cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, ferrets, fish, and other pocket pets. After caring for thousands of pets throughout my career, I've learned that every animal is unique. Some want to play nonstop, some prefer quiet companionship, and others simply need a little extra patience and reassurance. My goal is always to make every pet feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you're away. I hold certifications in basic dog training, as well as pet CPR and First Aid. My training has given me a strong understanding of canine behavior, body language, and positive handling techniques, allowing me to provide safe, confident care while reinforcing the routines and manners your dog is already learning. I currently have open availability for: Weekday and Weekend Walks Drop-In Visits Overnight Stays in Your Home Flexible Weekend Availability as Needed for Last Minute Trips Because of my background in professional boarding facilities, I'm comfortable recognizing changes in behavior, administering medications, and adapting my care to each pet's individual needs. I've cared for puppies, seniors, multi-pet households, high-energy breeds, and dogs that are reactive, fearful, or behaviorally challenging. Every pet deserves patience, understanding, and compassionate care, and I pride myself on creating a calm, positive experience that helps them feel secure.
“Troy did a fantastic job sitting for our Golden Retriever, Dory, while we were away for the weekend. He also took care of feeding the fish in our aquarium and attending to a few household items that went above and beyond what we expected him to do. So glad to have Troy on call through Rover to help with our pet sitting needs.”

“Mallory was so wonderful to our Izze and Maggie. I appreciated the daily communication and photo updates. This was the first time we went away and didn’t have the worries of them being taken care of to our standards, she certainly exceeded those.”

“Morgan was very friendly and receptive of all the house sitting instructions I provided. She took great care of my anxious dog Athea and my three cats, even on last-minute booking. I will definitely be rebooking and would recommend her to others :)”

“Working with Mary was a great! After we read her reviews and met her in person, we were so confident leaving our dog with her. Mary is a great communicator. All my questions were answered so quickly. She also sent us pictures of our dog living her best life while we were gone. It was so sweet and made us feel so relaxed and allowed us to enjoy our time at our daughter’s wedding. We already have plans for another trip and we are booking Mary for sure. We highly recommend Mary!”

“Complete peace of mind! Amie is a wonderful pet sitter! She stayed in our home and took care of it like her own. We had total confidence that our pets were safe and loved. She sent many pictures and updates and was easy to communicate with. Don’t hesitate to book with Amie. You won’t find a better pet sitter”

“LeeAna was the absolute best! She is so informative about animal care, and took such good care of my doggo and kitty while I was out of town. She sent pictures and updates throughout her stay. I highly recommend her if you need someone to watch you animal babies!!”

As of September 2026, there are 232 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Oronoko Charter. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Oronoko Charter walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Oronoko Charter maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Oronoko Charter choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Oronoko Charter. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 92% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
