“My puppy Kona absolutely adores Alice. She has the best set up with a huge fenced in yard and Kona loves getting to play with other dogs! She gets excited as soon as we get in Alice’s neighborhood which is the best compliment I think she can give. Alice is by far the best Rover we’ve ever had and she’ll be hard to live up to if we ever move out of the area. I can’t say enough good things. We love you Alice!! 🐾”

About: I’ve cared for my own dogs for over 30 years and have provided backup support for a very successful petting sitting service for over 7 years. I’m currently working part-time. I’m a widow with grown children that live on their own. I have a Pomeranian of my own who is 10 years old. I’m available often. I have a small dog of my own to keep your pup company. Your pup will be leashed when walked around my circular HOA community
“Nicole and her family were amazing with our puppy. She even made a concerted effort to try to use the same methods of training we have been using at home. My kids and puppy love her. As someone from out of state with no friends or family in the area, Nicole will be my first "go to" for the future! It's hard to trust folks with your lil ones sometimes!”

About: I have offered animal care services for 15 years. My experience includes daycare, medication administration, drop in visits, dog walks, and care for other animals such as cats, chickens, and other farm animals! I have little kids so services I offer require your dog be comfortable around kids, although their direct interaction will be limited. I have 2 dogs at my home. I currently work from home and have open availability. I am typically awake early, and can adjust my schedule around your needs with the exception of my kids bedtime routine :) I have a fenced in yard. I offer a crate if needed for eating or breaks. I offer baby gates if needed. I have many years experience and both of my parents have worked in the animal field for all my life.
“Jason and Kristen have taken such great care of our dog Eddie. He usually has separation anxiety, but always RUNS to their door to be played with and cared for by this family. My requests and quirks are respected, photos are sent and communication response is as close to immediate as one can be. I rest easily knowing my dog is in responsible, caring hands!!”

About: I have had dogs and cats my whole life. I currently have a 12 year old Doberman, a 2 year old pitbull mix, 4 black cats, 2 donkeys, 6 chickens and a parakeet. In the recent past, I worked as a temporary Animal Care Technician at the Ingham County Animal Control which gave me experience handling dogs of all sizes and temperaments, and cats with different behaviors. I also learned a lot about giving medications and vaccines, animal enrichment, feeding guidelines and more. I am very interested in dog training so your dogs will get some free training as I am sure I will be practicing any new techniques I learn with my clients! Recently I opened a small dog daycare a mile down the road from my home. Any dog that stays with me will likely get to go down to play with other dogs during the day. If you would like to learn more, just ask! Pet Care is my full time job. I love what I do. Please see my calendar or check with me on my availability for specific dates and times. BOARDING: Any dog I board must get along with my dogs. We will set up a free Meet and Greet at my home before the visit gets booked to make sure it will be a good fit. I have a large fenced in back yard but can also take your dog for daily walks if you prefer. We do also have 2 donkeys that share a fence line with our backyard area. They are used to dogs and have never broken through the fence. I always treat others pets as my own. I interact with them with patience, gentleness and love. I only use positive reinforcement. I am an active person and love to play ball and go for walks or slow jogs, but I also love to cuddle with any furry friends. Pets are family!
“Victoria & Rishi are incredible. They were responsive, kind, thoughtful about their day report back, and overall lovely folks. Their home was clean and perfectly organized for pup play. They were thoughtful to integrate their own dogs slowly on Winston’s behalf. Overall, I am SO grateful I found them. I completely trust their discretion and never once felt myself worried about leaving Winston in their care. In addition, Winston was so exhausted after daycare, which means he was able to play hard. I cannot recommend these two enough! I will definitely use their services again in the future.”
“I picked up a very content and sleepy puppy! Kale had a fantastic time and I so appreciated all the photos and videos throughout her stay. Kasey was incredibly accommodating about a last minute visit and took great care of Kale.”

“Yulisa took such great care of our dog Cooper during his daycare stay! She was attentive, kind, and clearly experienced. Cooper had a wonderful time playing with her and came home happy and relaxed. We really appreciated the updates and her thoughtful care throughout the day. Highly recommend Yulisa — we’d love to book with her again!”

About: Your dog will be my dog while in my care. I am a huge animal lover who has always made my animals a part of my family, not just an animal. Starting May 4th, I will be training for a new job. My training hours will be 8-5, if you can work around those time please reach out. My yard is not fenced so your babies will only be outside when I am out there with them, leashed if required. I do not agree with leaving a dog alone all night when they are already seeing a difference with their family being gone. If they are dog friendly they would have socialization as well with my friends and family dogs so they could get some interaction and extra exercise! I currently work from home so frequent potty breaks or administration of medication would not be an issue. We would be one big happy family all day long My dogs are not crated when I leave the house but do have an extra large one if required for your baby. If you need me to do a drop in visit, my hours for availability are in the air for the next couple of weeks until I am given my new works hours.
About: Been around dogs since birth. I understand dogs better than I understand people. Trained my dogs to do basic stuff within first couple days of having them and won't have a problem doing the same with yours if wanted. Open to any dates at any time of the day. Currently this is my only job to try to get enough experience to open my own board and train My dogs free roam around the yard. Neither of them step outside the boundaries I have established for them. No shock collars, no invisible fence needed just a firm understanding between my dogs and I
“Paige was extremely caring and kind to our doggo Buttercup. She took extra care to make sure she felt safe in her home and get her walks, treats, and even cuddle time. Paige regularly updated us on the status of Buttercup and took the cutest pictures, too! Highly recommend Paige for your dog-sitting needs!!”

“My dog (Leo) was very happy at Ellen’s. She kept updating me with pictures of Leo. Ellen’s house has a yard which allowed for Leo to run around, which he loves to do. I would definitely recommend Ellen!”

About: I have a love for animals big and small. I enjoy exploring and making new experiences with animals. I have experience with elderly and medical needs animals. I work as a nanny and have sometimes weeks off and would love to have an animal to take care of and take places with me. I have a house with 13 acres, for dogs that are not recall trained I use a 10 ft leash and always make sure leases are on before the door opens. I have a separate room for my own animals that way if rabbits or cats are meet with aggression all animals will be safe.
About: I've had different dogs in the house for my whole life. As a kid my family brought dogs in for foster care. We've taken care of multiple dogs with disabilities, including deaf dogs and partially blind dogs. Dogs get along with me well and I'm good at getting shy dogs to warm up to me. I've also volunteered with the Jackson County Animal Shelter, working with the cats at PetSmart. I've also taken care of relatives'/friends'/neighbors' pets. Currently I spend most of my time at home working on my online classes so I will have plenty of time to spend caring for your dog. On the rare chance that I'm not home at least one of my parents are in the house and will be able to fill in for me while I'm out. The dogs that I own eat at the same time everyday and go out as needed, but if your dogs need to be treated differently it will be easy to change things for them. Just fill me in on what your pet needs to be taken care of properly and I should be able to get it done.
About: I’ve owned multiple dogs my whole life, from our current German Shepherd and Siberian Husky to the two pugs we adopted when I was in high school to the lovey dog we found as a kid that we named Scooby-Doo because he looked just like him. I’ve helped care for all of them from walks around the block to feeding time to going outside just for potty and play time. I’ve also helped out a few friends with their dogs since high school while they were away. I’m currently a stay at home mom with a decently open schedule after my kids go to school in the morning and once my husband gets home from work during the week and am available during all hours of the weekend. If you are comfortable with your pets coming to my house I have two very friendly dogs who love play dates if your fur babies play well with others and a big back yard and a fenced in side yard for plenty of running around room or games of fetch. If I’m watching your dog(s) at your home I will follow whatever schedule you have for them on top of making time for play, walks and love so that they don’t feel neglected in any way while you are away. I also am more than comfortable with giving them baths if need be.
“Melissa went above and beyond while taking care of my dog Amaya. She is an excellent caring person. I was nervous about the process because it is my first time on Rover. She helped me so much and put my mind at ease. I wholeheartedly recommend her.”

FAQs for Doggy Day Care - Onondaga
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 220 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Onondaga. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Onondaga commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 220 sitters in Onondaga, 90% respond to messages in under an hour.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
