“Elizabeth is a perfect communicator and made me feel my cat was in great hands the week I was away. I could tell from her reports that she really understood and appreciated my cat, and that they had a really nice time together. I give Elizabeth my highest recommendation, and will definitely be reaching back out to her when I'm next out of town!”

“Stephanie watched our cat for 10 days (twice daily drop-ins) and we will definitely use her services again in the future. She was always communicative and accessible, professional and punctual, and most importantly, incredibly caring with our cat. Thank you, Stephanie!!”

About: I have been surrounded by dogs since birth and I have had a deep rooted love and passion for all animals from as early as I can remember. My parents bred our beloved family weimaraner when I was young and I was lucky to grow up surrounded by puppies as well as learning what it takes to raise and care for a dog. I am the fairy godmother to many of my close friends pets, as my love for them is nearly palpable. I have experience with many types of dogs, and I look forward to playtime & pushing some pavement with your precious pooch! I am available Friday-Sunday most weeks. I work as a flight attendant and am typically away from home Monday-Thursday. I am enthusiastic about the outdoors and can take your furry friend on beautiful weekend hikes. I live in Boiceville on just under an acre of land. My yard is not fenced in, however there’s plenty of space for your doggo to roam around under my supervision. Being in the Catskills there is also an abundance of beautiful places to walk and hike. I can feed, walk, play, board, crate (if needed), etc, in my home or yours.
About: I've cared for many cats and dogs, from pit bulls to terriers to English bulldogs. I have experience with puppy training, senior dog care, and oral medication administration. I'm a patient and compassionate pet owner, and I promise to treat your fur babies with the same love and care I would my own. I'm also a graduate music student in case your pet might want to be serenaded by a french horn :) I'm a musician and graduate student at Bard. My schedule changes quite a bit, but I always have a good idea of what my schedule will look well in advance. In addition, I am generally free most mornings, and can often be flexible. I'm very happy to provide your dog(s) with walks, food, brushing, bathing, and medication. I love to play fetch with dogs, go on walks or hikes, visit dog parks, cuddle, practice tricks, or any other enriching activity. With cats, I love to cuddle, play, and practice or try new tricks with treats.
“Grettel was super attentive and communicative during our time away. She took excellent care of our cats, our aquariums and our house. We had absolute confidence that our babies were safe and cared for. We will absolutely be booking Grettel again for any of our pet sitting needs in the future! Thank you, Grettel! 🧡”

“Linda was such a wonderful sitter for my little Lulu. Usually Lu is a bit crazy after I come back from a trip and she was calm as can be. I attribute that Linda’s warm presence as much as her care.”

“Lexi was fabulous, Walter and Bageera were both very well taken care of and we were kept up to date the whole time. We missed our kids (pets) very much while we were gone but very confident that we left them in good hands with Lexi. NO WORRIES 😉 👍🏼”

“Kimberly was so sweet and attentive to my old super senior kitty who’s been having health issues. She has a sweet momma like energy and was able to successfully give him his meds which he can be difficult about taking. I felt so safe knowing he was under her thoughtful care. Thank you so much for watching over Luke while i was away!”
“Paige did a great job taking care of out cats and chickens. Our cats are very shy and always hide from strangers. Paige managed to capture pictures of them despite how good our cats are at hiding. We will certainly use her again, next time we need a pet sitter.”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs my entire life since I grew up with them and have owned them. I currently own a shelter baby and he is super sweet. I strive to provide the best care to any and all animals. Currently working part-time as an CNA and I’m a PA student studying for boards in July. I’m very flexible to fit anyone’s needs and excited to do so. I have a dog park in my apartment complex that is massive. The apartment itself does not have a fenced in back yard but lots of room to walk around.

“We simply could not have asked for better and we are so thrilled and relieved that we have found such great care for our 2 cats and one dog. We have a stretch booked with Paula for September and it gives us such peace of mind to know they will be so well cared for. Thank you Paula!”

About: I currently own an amazing certified Good Boy Austalian Cattle Dog and two snuggly cats. I have have always owned at least one pet, both cats and dogs since I was little. I have done a decent amount of pet sitting for neighbors and friends. I have even had to give oral meds to one dog I dog sat. If you have any questions, please ask! Dogs will always get at least a 15 minutes walk because my dog usually needs a longer one. I sometimes give my cats and dog breakfast and then usually give the dog a quick 15 walk in the morning before leaving for work at 7:30 am. I get back home around 3:00 pm and usually give my dog his actual long walk between 40 and 70 minutes depending on weather. I feed the animals and then have dinner and usually just relax and snuggle on the couch with at least one of the fur kids. I fit in other cleaning and what not in there but I always make it a point to walk my doggo and make sure they get snuggles since I am gone for a good portion of the day. I have room for a crate for a crate trained dog. I have a moderately sized backyard that is well fenced in. My dog is a counter surfer so we have baby gates for both the kitchen and the extra bedroom. The extra bedroom serves as the cat room so the cats have a dedicated space. Stuff can be adjusted if you have a cat not used to dogs, so they can have that entire room or vice versa our cats can go in there for a dog that is not cat friendly. We only live five minutes from Marbletown Animal Hospital of any emergencies arise needing urgent care if your vet is not available.

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was a kid. People rely on me to take care of their dogs like feed them and bathe them and play with them and walk them and make sure they’re well loved It will only be me working with the dogs, I don’t need any other assistance with other people. I do work a full-time job, but I have flexible time before or after work so I’ll be able to take care of your dogs or cats. The best days are Monday through Saturday, Monday - Wednesday would be in the morning and Thursday - Saturday would be in the afternoon/evening. We have a fenced in yard at our house and we like to play fetch with our dogs, especially in the nice weather. They even love the snow. We do crate train our one dog so if your dogs need to be crated, I am able to do so. Our dogs are on the schedule for their food so if your dogs are too, I understand and can follow that schedule. And we give them lots of love so your dog(s) will be loved too.
About: My name is Sarah and I live in Kerhonkson, NY. I have been a dog owner for over 30 years, a majority of that time has been in a multi-dog home. I have always 'clicked' well with dogs, I attribute that to having grown up with them. I have experience working with dogs of all ages, sizes, and PERSONALITIES - from more timid, quiet dogs to impossible-to-contain. I am an active individual, so I am able to run more rambunctious dogs to burn off excess energy and just as happy taking a leisurely walk around the park. Most of all, I truly love dogs and caring for them brings me the most joy. I can't wait to meet your dog and I promise to treat him like he were my own. I currently work from home so I have plenty of time to take care of your pet. I’m available 7 days a week, most weeks! We have lots of land and space for your pet to enjoy themselves. Whether they enjoy spending time outside, swimming, or laying on the couch.
About: I Work nights! I am off Thursday and Friday nights. I've rasied my 80lb. Female dog from when she was 4 weeks old to about 6 years. I'm very active and love to take my dog out for runs. Very disciplined and have taught my big girl to behave politely in NYC. I've taken care of huskies and smaller dogs like chihuahuas and poodles for neighbors as well! I work overnights and just moved to an Tamnersville. I would love to walk or just spend time with a dog. My dog is home on staten island with family and I miss spending time with dogs so much! Hygiene and cleanliness at home are priority. A lot of canine care is knowing what each dogs' wants and needs are. Each dog will communicate to you what they want and need. Communication with the owner is key along with ensuring the dog is well fed and stimulated!
“Catherine did an amazing job of looking after our two cats over the holiday week! She checked in daily with photos of our babies, along with written updates from each visit. Our home looked clean and homey upon our return, and Catherine even did a couple extra things with turning on lights and taking out the garbage the evening before we got back. I’ll definitely book her again next time we travel.”
About: I’ve cared for animals most of my life, including regularly volunteering at local shelters and caring for two dogs and three cats of my own. I absolutely love spending time with pets and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away! I’m an active person and would be happy to take your dog on long, fun, and enriching walks, but I also love relaxing with pets, playing with them, and giving them plenty of attention and affection. I’ve cared for up to three dogs at once and am comfortable with different personalities, energy levels, and routines. I’m also happy to accommodate special needs, including medications, special diets, and specific care instructions. I’ll treat your pet like they’re my own and give them the same patience, care, and love I’d want for my own pets! I am currently a part-time employee. My schedule is relatively stable but subject to change. I am unavailable at the following times due to my work schedule: Thursday and Friday 7:30am-3:00pm, and Saturday 6:30am-3:00pm I only do care at client’s homes because of my two cats at home who generally do not like other animals. I am ready to utilize client’s backyards, nearby trails, and anything else owners implement into their pet’s daily routine!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
