About: Hey y'all! My name is Hunter and I used to run a pet care business with my mom for about 4 or 5 years called Paws & Purrs. We continued to take on a few clients for a few more years after she closed Paws & Purrs to pursue her furniture business further! I helped to take care of and walk a variety of different dogs; Great Danes, mastiffs, pitbulls, shitzus, corgis, labs, and a whole ton more! I have ample experience in walking, sitting, feeding and much more animal care knowledge. I can't wait to meet all of your furry friends! I work full time as a medical receptionist, so I'll be walking and meeting your furry friends in my down time. My schedule is as follows for availability: Monday Wednesday and Friday after 4:00 pm Tuesday and Thursday after 6:00 pm Saturday and Sunday all day I've walked dogs of all sizes for about 8 1/2 years. I create a pet-friendly environment, removing hazards and providing cozy spots for rest. I maintain their regular schedule for feeding, walks, and playtime to minimize stress and keep them feeling secure. For active breeds, I ensure they get plenty of physical activity through walks, runs, or playtime in a secure area. I keep pet owners updated with photos and messages, providing peace of mind while they’re away. I maintain a clean environment, regularly picking up after pets and ensuring their living area is tidy. By focusing on these aspects, I ensure a positive and nurturing experience for pets in my care.

I am always around for main walking times and weekend stays if there’s a need for it! All pets will be cared for to every extent- played with, fed with your instructions, safe, and loved! The home is smoke and drug free :)
About: I have owned a dog since I was 8 years old. I have always been responsible for his care. Growing up, I was responsible for taking care of my neighbors dogs and cats when they would travel out of town. When my dog got older, I had to give him oral pills every day in the morning. I work as a flight attendant for United Airlines. I get my flight schedule a month in advance. I can be home for many days in a row. As long as i’m home, my schedule is extremely flexible. I know that every animal is different. I like to ask each owner if there’s anything specific to be aware of prior to pet care.
About: • Lifetime Dog Lover: I’ve had dogs for years and cared for many family dogs, so I understand their needs and quirks. • Professional Experience: I worked at a dog kennel where I cared for all kinds of breeds, and I loved every single part of it. • Compassionate Care: I’m patient, kind, and make sure every dog feels comfortable, safe, and loved. • Dedicated Attention: As a stay-at-home mom with a flexible schedule, I can truly focus on your dog’s care and happiness. As a stay-at-home mom with a very flexible schedule, I have plenty of time to devote to caring for pets. I’m available throughout the day and week, which allows me to give consistent attention and love to the animals I watch. I do have a friendly, well-trained dog in my home who is very social and used to dogs staying with us. Safety is my top priority, and I always supervise introductions and interactions carefully. If needed, dogs can also be kept separated to ensure everyone is comfortable and safe. Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or in a client’s home, I make sure their routines stay as consistent and comfortable as possible. In my home, I provide a safe, loving environment with plenty of attention, playtime, and care. In a client’s home, I follow their specific instructions closely from feeding schedules to walks, playtime, and cuddles so their pets feel secure and cared for in their familiar space. My goal is always to treat every pet like family and make them feel happy, safe, and loved.
About: I’ve taken care of my friend’s dog while out of town. I love doggos and hope to adopt my own in the future! I used to be a teacher for many years. Right now my schedule is very flexible! I’m a homebody and love going for daily walks. I’m a very clean and organized person. This makes it easy for pets to roam around freely and safely! My husband unfortunately is allergic to cats so I will not be hosting cats in our home. If your cat is hypoallergenic (short haired and bathed beforehand) we can discuss overnight stays!

I’m respectful of your space and follow any instructions you provide, so your pet feels right at home even when you’re away.
“Robyn was the best! She made me feel at ease while I was away. She updated me every time she let them out and I knew she was caring for my babies as if they were her own. Highly recommend!!”

About: I’ve been helping my friends and family with their pets since before I can remember. It’s something I really enjoy doing. I trained my own dog, so I would love to help you with any training that you need as well! I am a registered nurse, so I only work three days of the week. I would love to spend the rest of my week caring for your pets! I am very active, so I would love to take your pets for a walk while you’re at work so they can get their energy out! I am comfortable around all animals, I have a dog and a cat myself that I take very good care of. :-)
“Christian did an outstanding job with our dogs, especially regarding their anxiety and reactivity. She was very caring, had excellent communication and sent us lots of pictures. Our dogs loved her and we highly highly recommend her.”

About: Hi, my name is Kailey! I’ve always had a deep love for animals and have been caring for them since I was a kid. I come from a big family of pet lovers, and I’ve always been the one everyone calls when they need a reliable pet-sitter. Over the years, I’ve fostered kittens and pregnant cats, volunteered at animal charity events, and even helped with animal political campaigning my own dog ran for mayor and won! Whether it’s sitting, fostering, or supporting animal causes, I put my heart into everything I do, and I truly enjoy being part of the animal world. Hello! I’m Kailey! I’ve had a love for animals my entire life, and caring for them has always come naturally to me. I’ve lived in the Charleston area for going on two years and work part-time in IOP, which gives me flexibility in my schedule. I’d love the opportunity to care for your furry family members, give them lots of love and attention, and make sure they feel safe, happy, and comfortable while you’re away! 🐾 I will not be having any animals in my home due to my own two cats (Robert and sunny) being very shy! Sorry for any inconvenience!
About: I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember, and my family has always had dogs. I’ve cared for many different breeds while dog-sitting for friends, family, and neighbors. I also majored in Animal Science Pre-Vet before pursuing PA school, giving me a strong background in animal care. I’m patient, attentive, and genuinely enjoy getting to know each pet’s personality so they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while in my care. I have a very flexible schedule right now, so I’m available for walks, drop-ins, and pet sitting throughout the week and weekends. I’m happy to work around your schedule and make sure your pets get plenty of love and attention! I provide a safe and welcoming environment tailored to each pet's needs, both my home and clients' homes, ensuring pets have designated spaces for rest and play. I maintain a secure environment, following their routines closely. My goal is always to make owners and their pets feel safe, trusted, and comfortable.
About: I have been around animals my whole life, bathing, feeding, walking, loving and snuggling. I’ve had both kittens and puppies, and helped train them as well. I dog/cat sit pretty frequently and can provide references as well. I absolutely adore animals and would love to meet yours! I am currently freelancing with my job because of the slow season, so I have a very open schedule and would love to hang with your pets! In my clients home, I would absolutely love to throw their ball, take them on walks, maybe even to the beach or take them on walking trails!
“Chase has just started working with Max and, already, they are good friends! Chase is reliable, friendly and has great communication skills! I am confident Max is in good hands when he is with Chase!”

About: I just moved to Charleston, but have been a pet sitter for many families in Georgia, Florida, and Colorado. I was a live in nanny for 2 years, and during that time, the family got a puppy that I helped take care of. I also have a senior cat who I rescued as a kitten. I absolutely love animals and have had many different pets throughout my life (bearded dragon, dog, cats, fish, bunnies, geckos, snake, turtle, etc.). I am a part time wedding planner and substitute teacher, so I make my own schedule. I have a 5 year old daughter that I drop off at school at 7:15am and pick up at 2:30pm, so I have the whole day to do whatever I need to do without her. She also loves pets, so if your pet likes children, she may join after school! I have a screened in patio and am on the first level in my apartment building. We have lots of trees/greenery in the complex and there are many parks nearby. If I am in your home, I will treat it just like mine. I do ask that my 5 year old daughter is welcome in your home for overnights, and she can stay in the same bed as me.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
