“Jennifer was amazing, incredibly patient and met with us before we boarded our son with her. She provided so many updates and addressed all of our needs and special requests with Ludo, and we would not hesitate to book her again. She truly worked to get to know Ludo to give him the best care possible.”

“Michelle is amazing! We are new to the area and had a negative experience with a different sitter previously. I was so nervous to try someone new. We found Michelle and I am SO grateful!! I honestly think our dog didn’t want to leave her house. She sent tons of photos and updates. Our Great Dane is sensitive to new situations and will refuse to eat. Michelle waited with her during each meal so she would eat. She truly went above and beyond and I can not recommend her enough.”

“Kris took care of our dog, Luna over February break. We found him wonderful. He was caring towards Luna and always made sure to send pictures and videos. Luna came back so happy!”

“Jessica and her family are wonderful. They took such good care of my dog and provided constant communication and feedback. They even dropped her back off at my house during a snow storm so that I didn't have to travel. I would 100% recommend Jessica and her family for any pet care. I'm so glad to have found you on Rover! Thank you!”

“The best sitter to book with! Xiaoying and her family are excellent and truly the sweetest! I had an overnight cat sitting service with them for a 7 nights and they sent me daily photos and videos and made sure to keep me updated! They also brought so many toys, a cat tree, and cat hideaway spots for my cat. My cat Lucki didn’t want to leave he really liked it there and it’s like his second home now😊 will definitely be rebooking with them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a pet sitter or boarding service! ❤️”

“Britany was great! She boarded Judy for 5 days and she did a great job. Judy was a pup without all her shots and she was very accommodating to her specific needs.”

“AMAZING! Took care of my wonderful puppy, even taught him how to stop scratching people for food. Consistently sent photos and if I ever have to board again I know who's my number 1 pick!”

“Highly recommend Yaina for dog boarding. We had a very positive experience with the whole process from start to finish. Our dogs came home happy and healthy after boarding for over a week, and we received daily updates and pictures. It was a pleasure dealing with Yaina, and we will absolutely look to board our dogs with her again in the future. I would give more than 5 stars if possible.”

“So happy and thankful that we found Michelle and her family. They made my boy feel right at home and made a place for him on the couch. The photos they sent showed my Chihuahua was a part of the family and ready to move in. Their dog Charlie is a sweetheart. Will return!”

“Marcelina was absolutely fabulous with my two dogs. She took such good care of them. Her communication with me over the stay was consistent, prompt and she sent videos and pictures of my pups. Her home is beautiful and I would absolutely leave my dogs with her again. A great experience!!”

“I had a fantastic experience with this dog boarding provider! From the moment I dropped my pup off, I felt completely at ease. William was kind, patient, and clearly passionate about animals. He provided regular updates, photos, and videos, which truly gave me peace of mind while I was away. I would book him again.”

“We love Crazy Loving Pet Care! This was Maple’s second stay. Mariela was so responsive—she constantly sent pictures of our little girl and kept us updated. Maple is always happy with her and her family. We will definitely use her again.”

“Alex + Ami were incredible hosts for our dog. Even when his snoring kept them up - they were very generous and partnered with us to find a solution- making sure that we could visit with our in-laws without worrying about our pup. From the many adorable photos I could tell Steve enjoyed his time too.”

About: Hi! I’m Cassandra, a caring, reliable, and experienced dog lover who has grown up caring for dogs and understands how much love, patience, and attention they need. I currently have a 6-year-old Bichon Shih Tzu who is a big part of my family, so I’m very comfortable with daily walks, playtime, cuddles, and keeping a pup happy and comfortable. I’ll treat your dog with the same care and affection I give my own, while making sure every walk and sit is safe, fun, and stress-free! 🐾 if you are happy with my services, tips are greatly appreciated. I work part time in Huntington. I work Tuesday through Friday in office and Thursday’s remote, 10-4 Weekends are free, and Mondays I am off. I am very personable with animals and their parents. I take a lot of time and care into my work with pets and people, and their homes too.
About: I provide more than just pet care—I offer companionship, safety, and heartfelt attention to every animal I meet. Having grown up with dogs, I understand how each one has its own unique personality. Over the years, I’ve loved and cared for a playful pug, a loyal Labrador, and now share my life with the most amazing Golden Retriever. With this experience, your furry friend is in trusted, capable hands. Whether they need active playtime, cozy cuddles, or a calm presence, I always tailor my care to fit their individual needs. Pet care is a natural part of my daily routine—I plan my days around the needs of the pets I care for. I make sure each pet gets the attention and consistency they deserve. I’m flexible with scheduling and committed to being reliable, so you can count on me to be there when your pet needs care the most. I am fully remote, so an always home with these guys. I have a fully fenced yard for safe outdoor play. If you're comfortable, my friendly dog would love to play with yours—but only with your okay. If not, no worries—he knows the routine and will happily stay separate.
“This was our first time leaving our senior rescue in someone else’s care. Isabella took such good care of him, and kept us updated with photos which we really appreciated. We have already booked his next stay.”

“If I could give more than five stars, I absolutely would. Leaving your dog in someone else's care can be stressful, but from the moment I met Krissy, I knew my dog was in wonderful hands. Krissy went above and beyond in every way, treating my dog like a member of her own family. I received regular updates, photos, and messages that gave me complete peace of mind while I was away. It was obvious that my dog's happiness, comfort, and safety were her top priorities. When I returned, my dog was relaxed, happy, and clearly well cared for—a true reflection of the love, patience, and attention my dog Sophie received. It's rare to find someone so dependable, trustworthy, and genuinely passionate about animals. I wholeheartedly recommend Krissy to anyone looking for exceptional pet care. Krissy exceeded every expectation, and I wouldn't hesitate to entrust her with my dog again.”

“Nachay has been readily available and accommodating anytime I need her. She sends photos and communicates frequently. I know Enzo is well taken care of and has a great time in her care!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Old Brookville
She is the best. My dog loves her so much, and he was very happy. Within a few hours, he had a bond with her and with the other dog that was in the house at that time. I have never seen my dog as happy as he is at this time with Marcelina. She always communicates, and she always sends pictures and videos. This makes me comfortable, and everybody in the family actually is happy about that. I will use her again and again, and it's a pleasure knowing her. Thank you very much for taking care of Rusty .I really appreciate it.

It is such a luxury to go on vacation knowing my animals are in Danny’s care. He and his family treat my fur babies like members of their own family. During our trip, Danny even dressed Lilo in a Colombia soccer jersey so she could cheer on the game with them, and both dogs got to celebrate the Fourth of July as part of the family. He also reached out ahead of the fireworks to ask how they typically react so he could make them as comfortable and stress-free as possible. That level of thoughtfulness and genuine love for animals is rare. I never worry when they’re with Danny, and I can’t recommend him highly enough.

Danielle has taken care of our Cavapoo twice, and we couldn't be happier with the care she provided. She is dependable, attentive, and extremely professional. From the moment we met her, we felt confident that our dog was in great hands. She kept us updated, made sure all of our dog's needs were met, and treated him with genuine kindness and care. It gave us real peace of mind knowing he was safe, happy, and well cared for while we were away. We highly recommend Danielle to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog sitter. We will definitely be booking her again!

Jordan is pleasant and responsive. Latke was returned happy and healthy. He let me know that he had another booking that would overlap mine, which turned out OK but would have been an issue if the dogs didn’t get along. His apartment is small and it would have been difficult to keep the dogs separated. Also I would have appreciated more photos, especially on the first day with the other dog. He responded promptly with pictures when prompted. Overall, I would recommend him.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Old Brookville home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Old Brookville.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Old Brookville sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
