About: I’ve taken care of countless roommates dogs, before getting my own a couple years ago. Before getting my own I did lots of research on training so she could have a happy, healthy, and safe life. I am committed to a dog’s safety and happiness. I am big on positive reinforcement which is how I’ve trained Buttercup. I’ve worked with multiple dogs on leash training, off leash training (minimal), potty training, and other general commands (sit, stay, come, heel, etc.). I have a full-time job and love hanging out with all the doggos in my free time. A couple of my workdays are fairly long, so I am more available later in the week. Pups (6months+) and dogs are allowed everywhere in my house except my personal bed. It is a modest home, with a fenced back yard (dog castle included). My dog, Buttercup, loves other dogs and is eager to play and be friends when they are. She has had interactions with both younger pups as well as much older doggos (up to 11 years old) and all interactions have gone well. While she’s on the medium-large end (70-75lbs) some of her best doggo friends range from significantly smaller (7-12 lbs) to much larger (100+lbs). She interacts well with different sizes.
“I highly recommend Alaina! She did an amazing job caring for my pets and followed every instruction carefully. She made sure my dog got outside for mid-day potty break and took the time to give my cats plenty of affection and attention. Alaina genuinely cares about animals, which gave me peace of mind while I was at work. I absolutely trust her with my pets.”

About: I've always loved pets since I was little. I currently have a dog and two cute little turtles who I love and take care of. I've had my dog for about 6 years now. But my family has always been big on dogs I've been around them ever since I can remember.🤗 Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I plan my schedule to ensure pets receive consistent attention, timely feedings, exercise, bathroom breaks, and companionship. I make pet care a priority and am committed to maintaining each pet’s normal routine as closely as possible. I provide attentive, compassionate care tailored to each pet’s needs. I follow feeding schedules, ensure fresh water is always available, provide exercise and playtime, administer medications if needed, and give plenty of affection and supervision. I also keep owners updated with photos and messages for peace of mind.
About: I have hands-on pet care experience, including feeding, grooming, walking, understanding each pet’s unique personality, and ensuring animals feel safe by creating a calm, trusting, and joyful environment. As an active duty service member, I offer dependable, disciplined, and compassionate pet care, available after 5 p.m. on weekdays and anytime during the weekends. I prioritize safety, trust, and comfort by creating a calm and clean environment, following each pet’s routine, and giving them attentive, loving care like family.
“Jessi has been our go-to pet sitter for a couple years now and has done drop-in visits for our 4 dogs many times, often for extended vacations. She’s great about keeping us informed about what’s going on with the dogs, at the house, etc. We know we can trust her and that our dogs are well cared for while we’re away.”

“Katharine was amazing with Ruby playing with her and maintained great communication the whole time I was gone. I highly recommend letting her take care of your pets!”

“By far the best experience we have had on Rover in the 2 years we have been using it. Incredibly attentive and communicative. This was the first trip where we were not worried or nervous for our cats wellbeing while away.”

About: I have the biggest heart for dogs and if I can show them love while their owner is away I would be so so grateful! I am an active duty soldier who loves taking care of pets since I can’t have one of my own long term due to the lifestyle. I have taken care of pets on and off post and it’s always manageable! I make sure to ask the owner for all things about the pet and always provide updates. I love to get them excited and happy with playing outside or going on a nightly walk before bed.
“Krista came over to meet HiShawn before our trip. It took a minute but he did warm up to her. When she started to leave he started whining. He’s never done that before. Krista and HiShawn got along splendidly! Thank you, Keista”

About: I have worked in a mix of animal care, environments, includinga rescue, multiple dog daycare/boarding facilities, grooming, and volunteered at pet shelters. I understand how important exercise can be for all fur babies. I believe a positive and vibrant environment benefits all pets. All animals need attention and I am willing to give them 100% and nothing less than satisfactory. I carry portable bowls, water bottles, snacks, and clean up bags on hand at all times. Expect photo updates of your precious fur babies during walks and boardings. During my time, I learned about appropriately introducing dogs, how to care and attend to every dogs need, and how to interpret their behavior. Your family member will not go without walks, play time, food, water, snacks, kisses, cuddles, and of course loads of love.
“Suliel was lovely! She accepted all of our kitties weird quirks and habits with grace and took excellent care of her while we were away. Will definitely be requesting her again!”

“Madeline took great care of our 2 cats while we were away. She responded quickly and was very friendly and eager to get to know them. We received detailed reports and photos at each of her check-ins, including of our shy girl who usually takes quite awhile to feel safe enough to come out of hiding with someone new. Maddy was caring. thorough and reliable. She clearly loves cats and we would definitely feel confident leaving ours in her care in the future!”

About: I have had a dog within my household my entire life. Family and friends have asked me to watch their fur babies. I have provided drop in care and overnight care. I am a college student, so my schedule is very flexible to be able to give your fur babies all the love and attention they deserve/want! I can easily crate an animal when needed, I am always watching the clock to make sure I am on time for feedings and medicine. Walks are something I love to do if the animal permits. I am also comfortable transporting dogs, weather that be to a daycare or grooming appointment.

“Abigail was absolutely amazing with my three pets! They all loved her right away, which says a lot especially because my cat usually doesn’t let anyone touch her, but she trusted Abigail enough to let herself be handled and cared for. Abigail was very attentive, followed all the notes I left, and made sure each of my pets was comfortable, clean, and happy. I felt completely at ease knowing they were in such good hands. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable sitter!”

“Angelique once again did a wonderful job with my 2 cats. She was always prompt and besides taking care of the feeding, watering and cleaning litter boxes, found time to play with them for a bit each day. They both warmed up to her (they are very skittish) and would come out for pets from her. This is probably the 5th or 6th time she has watched my kitties as a drop-in visit. I will definitely use her again and also recommend her.”

“Katrina was wonderful with my two dobermans. She was more than willing to do a meet and greet before the visit which was super helpful. They’re high energy big dogs and she did great with them. Highly recommend!”

“Rachel was an excellent pet sitter!! She was super flexible with my strange timelines and even came to the hotel to visit the pup when I was at work. Would book her again in a heartbeat!”
“My dogs absolutely adore her 💜 special thank you from Ziva & Kenai your fave huskies 🤍 she is super kind and saved me in a last minute rush and Kenai which is my loud and everyone is scared of he loves her. Thank you”

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
