“I highly recommend Alaina! She did an amazing job caring for my pets and followed every instruction carefully. She made sure my dog got outside for mid-day potty break and took the time to give my cats plenty of affection and attention. Alaina genuinely cares about animals, which gave me peace of mind while I was at work. I absolutely trust her with my pets.”

“As always if I could give more stars I would! Jessi is always amazing and her availability when it’s last minute is wonderful! She takes such good care of our crazy 3 and we always feel so safe knowing she’s taking care of them for us while we’re gone!”

“Katharine was great with our two cats! We have one cat that is protective when we leave and she was SO good with him! She won him over in a few days and that's quite the feat (even if he was a little cranky)! She had great communication and it was clear she cares very much about animals. We will absolutely be asking her to care for our kitties again! Thanks Katharine!”

“By far the best experience we have had on Rover in the 2 years we have been using it. Incredibly attentive and communicative. This was the first trip where we were not worried or nervous for our cats wellbeing while away.”

“Bailey's care of our kitty allows us to be gone and not worry... we know he is well taken care of and in addition, gets a lot of attention! We appreciate you, Bailey!! Thank you!”
“Krista came over to meet HiShawn before our trip. It took a minute but he did warm up to her. When she started to leave he started whining. He’s never done that before. Krista and HiShawn got along splendidly! Thank you, Keista”

“Presley did a great job sitting for our 3 aging dogs. She has great attention to detail and asked great questions when running through our pets’ routine and instructions. She’s reliable and great about sending visit updates and pictures. Would highly recommend and will definitely be utilizing her services again!”

“Alysha was fantastic!! She did absolutely everything we asked and then some to take care of our zoo while we were out of town. We would 100% recommend her to anyone needing care for their pets!”

“Kelsey was a gem. My other sitter had to cancel right before my trip and Kelsey came through for me. She was always prompt to respond to me. She felt free to ask me any questions to make sure everything went smoothly with my cats. She was very kind and polite. Because of her I had a worry-free trip.”

“Between a high anxiety dog and a stuck-up cat, it's stressful thinking about leaving our pets to someone else's care. Sophia did phenomenally with them and I could tell from the photos she had earned their trust after just one day. We will definitely be booking her again and encourage others to do the same.”

“Courteney was very friendly and she took good care of my 3 English Bulldogs, I have already requested her services again for the next time we will be out of town 😊”

“Samantha did a great job looking after both of my dogs and cat while I was away for a couple days! Both dogs seemed to love when she came over and played with them, and my shy kitty Luna even eventually trusted her enough to come up to her for pets herself! Samantha was very quick to respond to any messages/questions I would send, and she reallu seemed to like looking after my pets, I can't recommend her enough!”

“Suliel was lovely! She accepted all of our kitties weird quirks and habits with grace and took excellent care of her while we were away. Will definitely be requesting her again!”

About: I’ve taken care of countless roommates dogs, before getting my own a couple years ago. Before getting my own I did lots of research on training so she could have a happy, healthy, and safe life. I am committed to a dog’s safety and happiness. I am big on positive reinforcement which is how I’ve trained Buttercup. I’ve worked with multiple dogs on leash training, off leash training (minimal), potty training, and other general commands (sit, stay, come, heel, etc.). I have a full-time job and love hanging out with all the doggos in my free time. A couple of my workdays are fairly long, so I am more available later in the week. Pups (6months+) and dogs are allowed everywhere in my house except my personal bed. It is a modest home, with a fenced back yard (dog castle included). My dog, Buttercup, loves other dogs and is eager to play and be friends when they are. She has had interactions with both younger pups as well as much older doggos (up to 11 years old) and all interactions have gone well. While she’s on the medium-large end (70-75lbs) some of her best doggo friends range from significantly smaller (7-12 lbs) to much larger (100+lbs). She interacts well with different sizes.
“Fantastic dog sitter! Knowledgeable and very responsive. Handles my VERY excitable dogs easily. Asked questions I hadn't even thought of, which goes to show her professionalism. Will definitely rebook her in the future.”

About: I have taken care of dogs and house sat for friends and family for over 20 years. I am new to the area and I look forward to meeting new doggo friends! I’d love to arrange a meet and greet with you and your pups to discuss your needs more in-depth! I work an 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday thru Friday job. However, I have a 1 hour lunch break that would allow me to stop by and check on/walk your dogs. If I have a free weekend, I could housesit for you; the sooner I know in advance, the better! I’m a very active person, so I love walking and even jogging with your dogs; whatever you need! I like to talk softly to dogs to develop a level of friendship and trust. I’m happy to accompany and play with dogs in a fenced in backyard or dog park. Sitting on a couch (if allowed) is nice too! I’d follow your regular feeding, potty and meds schedules to maintain consistency as well.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
